Oregon Man Arrested for Recording Militarized Police Raid in Neighborhood

In a chilling show of militaristic thuggery, police in Oregon arrested a man for attempting to video record them blasting their way into a neighbor’s home as they served a search warrant.

The Gresham Police Department, which serves a city of just over 100,000, rumbled down a residential street at 4 a.m. Tuesday with several armored vehicles, blasting flash grenades into a home, jolting the entire neighborhood awake.

One man, who goes by Skylow Production on Youtube, said he was sleeping in his girlfriend’s apartment when he was awaken by all the ruckus. He grabbed his iPad and ran outside, standing across the street as the cops surrounded the home dressed like soldiers, issuing orders through a megaphone.

When they spotted him, they accused him of “interfering” and ordered him back inside. When he asserted his right to be there, he was arrested.

Russian Retaliation Begins: Gazprom “Limiting EU Gas”, Cuts Poland Supplies By 24% In Past Two Days

Over the weekend, we commented that in response to Europe’s latest, and most serious, sanction round which would finally impact Russian energy giants Rosenft, Gazprom Neft (but not Gazprom) and Transneft, “suddenly the stakes for Russia, and thus Europe, just got all too real, as Putin will now have no choice but to really ramp up the retaliatory escalation, which following the food ban can only mean one thing: a staggered reduction in gas flow to Europe.”

And while Europe appears to have blown its load prematurely, with the sanctions leaked before Europe actually has the consensus to implement them (it is now a daily threat by Europe which is screaming that it will impose the sanctions any minute yet not actually doing so), Russia has no such moral quandaries and three days following our forecast, here comes Gazprom confirming once again that it is perfectly happy to play the “mutual defection” strategy in the ongoing and ever escalating game theory between Europe and Russia for one simple reason: it has all the leverage.

Step 3: Recognizing the Consequences of Tyranny

New Police "Compliance Weapon" Blinds Targets

NEW POLICE “COMPLIANCE WEAPON” BLINDS TARGETS

A firm that provides non-lethal equipment to law enforcement is set to release a new “compliance weapon” that temporarily blinds targets for up to 15 minutes, amidst a national conversation about the militarization of police in the aftermath of unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.

Shield Defense Systems, LLC, a company based in Reno, Nevada, is currently developing the Z-RO “retinal obfuscation” gun. According to the firm’s website, the weapon, “Obstructs the target’s vision temporarily for up to 10-15 minutes via proprietary technology when deployed on engaged mark.”

Or in other words, despite coming under intense scrutiny over their treatment of protesters and journalists in Ferguson, militarized police departments are about to get their hands on a new toy that blinds people. The weapon will be available for purchase in December.

Issa Letter: DOJ Tried To Coordinate IRS Scandal Response With Democrats

A press official at the Department of Justice attempted to coordinate the leak of documents concerning the IRS targeting scandal with Democratic staffers, but accidentally called the wrong office, according to House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa.

The official, which both Breitbart News and The Hill identified as Brian Fallon, called Oversight Friday afternoon.

The staffer who picked up the phone answered “Oversight Press,” according to Issa’s letter, which was sent to Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday.

Thinking he had reached the office of U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings, the Democratic ranking member of the oversight committee, Fallon said that the DOJ’s Office of Legislative Affairs would not okay the release of the documents, but that he was eager to do so anyway “before the Majority” – Issa’s office – could do so.

Step 2: Recognizing Tyranny

In Defense of the Unpatriotic

President Obama and the chorus labeling corporations leaving the US to escape high corporate tax rates unpatriotic are like pickpockets complaining about people who hide their wallets. They harken back to Franklin Roosevelt, who popularized the notion that government has first call on income and wealth, and anything people are allowed to keep is at its sufferance. Roosevelt went after the wealthy for availing themselves of legal measures to avoid high tax rates. Statists see people as bovines at their abattoir (slaughterhouse sounds so much classier in French). Any intrepid cow trying to escape must be herded to the front and made an example for the rest of the cud-chewers.

The government is even making it harder for those who renounce their citizenship (their numbers keep growing). The fee just quadrupled (to $2350) and renouncers may have to pay taxes on unrealized capital gains (a huge burden if they’ve built a business they haven’t sold). Remember: if you, your business, and your money want to flee our freedom-destroying regime of taxes, regulations, redistribution, and debt, you are soulless, unpatriotic, and, most despicably, ungrateful to all the selfless and noble public servants responsible for the magnificent achievement that is our government.

BLS: Unemployed More Likely to Go Shopping on Average Day Than Look for Job

Unemployed and Shopping-1

On the average day, an unemployed American is more likely to be shopping—for things other than groceries and gas—than to be looking for a new job, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Only 18.9 percent of Americans who were unemployed (in surveys conducted from 2009 through 2013) spent time in job search and interviewing activities on an average day, according to BLS. Yet 40.8 percent of the unemployed did some kind of shopping on the average day–either in a store, by telephone, or on the Internet. 22.5 percent of the unemployed, according to BLS, were shopping for items other than groceries, food and gas.

NC won’t say which agencies received surplus

North Carolina officials say they won’t release specifics about which law enforcement agencies received military equipment under a controversial federal surplus program.

The state Department of Public Safety last week released a county-level list of tactical equipment obtained under the federal 1033 Excess Property Program, designed to grant surplus equipment to law enforcement agencies across the country, largely for counter-drug and -terrorism activities. The gear includes rifles, riot shotguns and heavy equipment such as helicopters and mine-resistant vehicles.

The county-by-county information does not specify which agencies actually received this equipment.

Ebola Spreading ‘Exponentially’ as Patients Seek Beds in Liberia

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpMBJLNfCI4

The Ebola virus is spreading exponentially across Liberia as patients fill taxis in a fruitless search for medical care, the World Health Organization said Monday.

The various reports illustrated in the clearest possible way the disparities driving the epidemic in West Africa, where there’s almost no medical system structure. The three patients evacuated to the United States have all begun to recover quickly once they get good supportive care, which includes around-the-clock nursing care and good nutrition.

WHO and other groups have been warning that the situation in Liberia and Sierra Leone and Guinea is dire. It’s especially bad in Liberia, WHO said Monday.

“Transmission of the Ebola virus in Liberia is already intense and the number of new cases is increasing exponentially,” WHO said in a statement.

Russia’s Response To European Capital Sanctions In One Word

While the West continues to press the “Russia is increasingly isolated” meme, it appears – as we noted ironically previously, that Vladimir Putin is finding plenty of friends… most notably China. While threats of ‘asymmetric’ retaliation over European sanctions may have been enough to worry Europe’s leaders, the slew of news overnight regarding increased cooperation between China and Russia is likely more damaging to Western strategy (and egos).

Not so isolated…

Lawlessness in Winston-Salem, NC

logo

Lawlessness only begets more lawlessness. Here’s the proof.

This weekend we learned that Attorney General Roy Cooper’s refusal to defend the North Carolina Marriage Amendment and statutes has inspired the City of Winston-Salem to begin recognizing same-sex “marriages” performed in other states

Citing the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision finding the Virginia Marriage Amendment unconstitutional and citing Roy Cooper’s announcement that he will no longer defend our own Marriage Amendment, the City issued a new policy making same-sex couples who purport to be “married” under the laws of another state eligible for benefits paid for by the taxpayers.

Although no court of law has found North Carolina’s marriage statutes and Marriage Amendment to be unconstitutional, the City of Winston-Salem has taken it upon themselves to do the dirty work.  In so doing, they are openly violating the laws and Constitution of our State.  So much for the voters approving the Marriage Amendment by 61% to 39%!

How can public officials violate the law and get away with it?  Because our Attorney General, who was elected to enforce the laws and Constitution of the State, has decided to pick and choose which ones he won’t defend.  And, he’s decided he doesn’t like the ones that deal with recognizing marriage only as the union of a man and a woman.

How can the Attorney General get away with violating his duties under the Constitution?  Because no one has held him accountable for it…..yet.
