Ferguson Is A Perfect Example Of How Quickly The Streets Of America Can Descend Into Chaos

Ferguson Riots

Rioting, looting, burning down stores and shooting police officers – is this about to become the “new normal” in America?  What we just witnessed happen in the streets of Ferguson, Missouri is a prime example of how quickly the streets of America can descend into chaos.  There is so much anger and frustration in this country, especially among our young people, that all it takes is a “trigger event” to spark a wildfire.  In this case, it was the shooting of an unarmed black teen by a police officer.  According to the police, 18-year-old Michael Brown got into a physical altercation with an officer and was subsequently shot.  Word spread quickly throughout the community, and protests were rapidly organized.  But the protests didn’t stay peaceful.  People started chanting “kill the police” and throwing rocks and bottles.  Store windows were smashed, the looting began, and people went absolutely crazy.  And it wasn’t just a few people that were doing the looting.  Huge mobs of people looted stores all over Ferguson.  At one point an ATM was even dragged out of a QuikTrip gas station and a while after that the store was set on fire.  But this is what happens when things descend into chaos.  The owners of those stores didn’t have anything to do with the shooting of Michael Brown, but the violence got directed at them anyway.  And someday when we see similar scenes erupt in major cities all over the nation, it won’t matter what your political beliefs are.  You just better not be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ferguson is a little town just outside of St. Louis with a population of about 21,000 people.  You wouldn’t think that it would be possible to see such massive rioting in such a small community.  But that is precisely what happened.  On Monday, millions of Americans were absolutely mesmerized by the images coming out of Ferguson.  The following is how one news source described what happened…

Self-Hauntings

by Francis Porretto

Politicians are people who desire power over others, whether they sincerely seek to serve the public, or believe themselves worthy of it, or are simply pursuing their own interests by political means. In the overwhelmingly most common case, power is their highest priority; for some, it’s the only thing that matters. It causes them to say things they come to regret, and sometimes to do things they later wish they’d never done, specifically to gain or retain high office.

Even Thomas Jefferson, by far the most intelligent, principled, and clear-sighted of the Founding Fathers, had many regrets about his time in public life. Indeed, his regrets over the extra-Constitutional measures he approved, several of them out of reluctance to challenge their proponents within his supporters’ ranks, were the seeds that, through the efforts of Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren, and Thomas Hart Benton, in 1828 birthed the Democratic Party.

Contemporary politicians don’t bear comparison with Jefferson in any way. The best of them is a gutless, brainless pygmy compared to the Sage of Monticello. Yet if Jefferson could falter and fail in a fashion that would haunt him forever after, how much more easily would such failures come to a self-promoting, conscience-challenged, power-uber-alles politician of our time?

Prepping, Post-SHTF and Counterinsurgency

I finished re-reading Learning to Eat Soup with a Knife: Counterinsurgency Lessons from Malaya and Vietnamover the weekend. (It’s a MUST READ; non-negotiable for preppers and Patriots.) After talking with a few friends, it dawned on me that formulating a defense plan for post-SHTF preppers is a lot like planning for the counterinsurgencies of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Preppers need not become experts on counterinsurgency, but I recommend learning the tenets and learning from others’ experiences.  There are (at least) three reasons why preppers should learn about counterinsurgency: re-establishing local governance, taming the criminal/irregular threat, prioritizing missions with competing resources.

(Re-) Establishing Local Governance.

Unlike the other forms of warfare, counterinsurgency (COIN) is population-centric.  As the populace goes, so goes the conflict.  COIN is a battle for legitimacy: in a vacuum, who has the rightful authority?  That boils down to perception, which is why its critically important (can’t stress that enough) to be able to influence the populace and win them to your side.  We do that, in part, by providing for them. We provide security firstly.  One thing I’ve learned in dealing with Iraqis and Afghans, and I can extrapolate from there to include the entire population of the world, is that most human beings want security; they want to see their children grow up and be successful.  They don’t want to live in a war zone; they don’t want to live in fear of being blown up by an artillery round or an IED.  They want peace and security because peace and security mean prosperity.  Therefore, the populace is much more willing to support whichever side is able to provide that peace and security, as a general rule of thumb.  In other words, they will support the faction that seeks justice, upholds the rule of law, and prosecutes those who break the law.  If you’re not scoping out your local and county law enforcement and learning about their abilities to provide peace and security for the populace (and where they plan to provide it; it won’t be everywhere), then you have an enormous intelligence gap to fill.  Work on filling that soon; start this week.  (It’s as simple as a conversation and asking some questions.  It’s really no more complicated than that.)

Isolation? China Begins Direct Sales Of Fruit & Vegetables To Russia

Despite the ongoing mainstream media meme that Russia is becoming ‘isolated‘ from the rest of the world thanks to Western sanctions, it appears they have found a few new ‘old’ friends to become un-isolated with. On the heels of Russia’s food-import-ban sanctions last week, Russian and Chinese officials have announced an agreement that China will start selling fruit and vegetables directly to Russia via a special logistics center in Russia’s far east.Notably, this week saw Russia’s GDP beat consensus expectations, Ruble rally, and stocks jump as German confidence plunged – can you say blowback?

As RT reports,

China will start selling fruit and vegetables directly to Russia, and Baorong company plans to set up a special logistics center in Dongning on the border with Russia’s Far East to do it.

The 70,000 square meter wholesale market and 30,000 square meter warehouse, fitted out with refrigerators and other equipment, will be in a special cross-border customs zone, ITAR-TASS cites the head of the Association of Applied Economy of the Heilongjiang Province Zhang Chunjiao.

No Freedom Left Unharmed: The Terror State in America

“We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.

Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them…you create a nation of lawbreakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Rearden.”

– Alisa Zinov’yevna Rosenbaum (also known as Ayn Rand) Atlas Shrugged

by Bill Buppert

The modern state and government have one primary goal in mind: the maintenance and expansion of political power to horizontally and vertically regulate and tax every transaction of human behavior within its jurisdiction, individuals and firms alike. For America, that means the unfortunates living in the confines of the common geographical boundaries recognized as the US and it possessions and according to the IRS, any place on Earth an American holding current citizenship resides. The US has been a military garrison state since 1860 with short interregnums of less war-like times. With the end of the Civil War and the tyrannical consolidation of the Lincolnian imperial project, the American military apparatus was focused on continuing its campaign to eradicate or threatened into docility the aboriginals who had originally peopled the continent. By the 1890s, the aboriginal extinction/resettlement plan had everything but a bow tied on it. The politicians in Washington started to get restless and set their sights on the exclusive colonial empire club and wanted to carve out some extraterritorial gains while the going was good thus the annexation of Hawaii in 1893 and the wholesale expropriation of the Spanish possessions in the Caribbean and the Philippines by 1898. The empire has barely stopped for breath ever since.

Update on Shaneen Allen 2nd Amendment Trial

Shaneen Allen and Evan Nappen

On Tuesday August 5th 2014, Superior Court Judge Michael Donio declined to dismiss a case for unlawful possession of a firearm against Philadelphia resident Shaneen Allen.

Allen was arrested during a traffic stop last October after she volunteered to the officer that she had a firearm in her car.  She mistakenly believed her Pennsylvania license to carry firearms was valid in New Jersey.  This was hardly an unreasonable assumption, considering that Pennsylvania concealed carry licensees can lawfully carry in over 30 other states.

Nevertheless, Judge Donio sided with prosecutors in deciding that Allen was not covered by a 180-day gun amnesty period for the surrender of firearms in New Jersey that happened to be occurring at the time of her arrest.  The judge also refused to overrule the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s decision to deny Allen a pre-trial intervention program that could have helped her avoid a criminal conviction.

North Carolina Begins Quarantine Procedure for Ebola Exposed Missionaries

The disease which could cause a nightmare which would shut down the entire economic engine of the United States and the West is finally starting to be treated seriously. The first outbreak of Ebola was traced to a two year old girl in Guinea according to a New York Times article on Saturday, August 9th, yet the US government has failed to deal with this threat seriously and the ongoing concern expressed by some members of the mainstream media as well as those of us in the alternative media has been ignored.

Tonight the state of North Carolina became the first of what I expect many state governments to act according to the Voice of America News:

US State to Quarantine Ebola-exposed Missionaries

VOA News

August 10, 2014 7:47 PM

The southern U.S. state of North Carolina is stepping up efforts to guard against the possible spread of the Ebola virus to the United States.

On Sunday, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services said anyone returning from Africa who worked with Ebola patients will be put into quarantine.

Holder opens federal probe of slain teen

The Justice Department has launched a federal investigation into the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teenager in a St. Louis suburb over the weekend, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday.

The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division will participate in the probe, along with FBI agents from the St. Louis field office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Holder said.

“The shooting incident in Ferguson, Missouri, this weekend deserves a fulsome review,” Holder said.

“At every step, we will work with the local investigators, who should be prepared to complete a thorough, fair investigation in their own right. I will continue to receive regular updates on this matter in the coming days.”

Michael Brown, 18, was not carrying a weapon at the time of the shooting but allegedly attacked a police officer.

Ebola Nightmare in New York

2048px-ebola_virus_virion

See additional comments at Tea Party Nation

The possible Ebola patient in New York has tested negative for the virus so that incident will be relegated to the journalistic trash heap of history. But what if Mr. Silverman had been infected with Ebola?

Consider the following from the report in the NY Daily News:

  1. “We had just had a family dinner the night before, and everyone was hugging and kissing. Now we were all very worried.”
  2. Two days before he was riding his bike 40 miles around New York
  3. As Silverman and his mother got into a livery car close to midnight, he warned his mother: “Don’t mention the ‘E-word’ in the cab, or else we’re never going to make it up there.”

So IF Mr. Siverman had been infected, most of his family and friends would have contracted this airborne virus (regardless of the CDC propaganda). Along with a portion of New York along his 40 miles bicycle ride and a cab driver. What is the penalty for getting into a cab and not disclosing that you may have an infectious disease? Reckless endangerment? Mr. Silverman did knowingly put the cab driver’s life in danger as shown by his warning to his mother not to say the E-word.

Did the hospital track down the cab driver and all of his passengers after transporting Mr. Silverman to the hospital and Ebola testing starting? Did the government quarantine his house, friends or family?

So the simple question is: what if Mr. Silverman had had Ebola? The answer is New York would not have been saved.

Coup underway in Iraq?

This was popped up in the headlines, and details are still sketchy, but something potentially big is afoot in Iraq. (And for once, we’re not talking about their being under attack by ISIS.) We were first tipped off on Twitter as well as a quick draw compilation of tweets from inside Iraq provided at Pundit Press . Here are a few, along with Pundit Press’s summary, keeping in mind that this isn’t confirmed yet:
