The Other Slaves

The fact that black Africans were placed into slavery for centuries is common knowledge. However, there is another ethic group that was forced into slavery that goes unnoticed by history —perhaps because they have never used their historical experience to justify their current problems.

King James II of England began the Irish slave trade in 1625 when he sold 30,000 Irish prisoners as slaves to the New World. His proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners to be sold to English settlers in the West Indies. By the mid-1600s, the Irish represented the main body of slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat —in fact, during that period, 70% of the total population of Montserrat was Irish slaves. The majority of early slaves brought to the New World were white —and Irish.

Between 1641 and 1652, about 300,000 Irish were sold as slaves. Between those that the English killed and sold into slavery, the population of Ireland decreased from 1.5 million to 600,000 in this decade alone. Like the African slaves, families were separated as wives and children were not allowed to accompany their husbands and fathers across the Atlantic. This of course led to a helpless population of fatherless people —England’s solution —they sold the women and children as well.

Japanese Prepare For “Abenomics Failure”, Scramble To Buy Physical Gold

As we reported yesterday, the world’s most clueless prime minister, Japan’s Shinzo Abe, has suddenly found himself in a “no way out” situation, with inflation for most items suddenly soaring (courtesy of exported deflation slamming Europe), without a matched increase in wages as reflected in the “surprising” tumble in household spending, which dropped 2.5% on expectations of a 0.1% increase in the month ahead of Japan’s infamous sales tax hike. How does one explain this unwillingness by the public to buy worthless trinkets and non-durable goods and services ahead of an imminent price surge? Simple – while the government may have no options now, the same can not be said of its citizens who have lived next to China long enough to know precisely what to do when faced with runaway inflation, and enjoying the added benefit of a collapsing curency courtesy of Kuroda’s “wealth effect.” That something is to buy gold, of course, lots of it.

According to the FT, “Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry, a precious metals specialist, reported that sales of gold ingots across seven of its shops are up more than 500% this monthAt the company’s flagship store in Ginza on Thursday, people queued for up to three hours to buy 500g bars worth about Y2.3m ($22,500). March has been the busiest month in Tanaka’s 120-year history.”

Of course, while the Japanese consumers know what is the best defense against runaway inflation and purchasing power destruction, the government also knows that just like in India, where massive gold imports to satisfy local demand so skewed the current account deficit that India spent most of 2013 imposing gold capital controls, it simply needs to make gold purchases impossible in order to redirect spending into more Keynes-approved products and services.

However, for now Japan is happy just to crush its population’s meager disposable income with soaring energy prices. Which also means the locals can allocate their personal capital in the most efficient way: one which discounts a very unpleasant future.

When Will the Propaganda Stop?

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation

The examples below show how the media can provide two separate pictures of our economy. People who are working (paying taxes) know the reality: food is up 19% in the first quarter of 2014. So when will the propaganda stop? When will we stop being sheeple in the highlights? Are 3% of the people ready to handle the truth?

Truth is easily discerned after a little bit of effort to verify. The state of our economy is very fragile and the upcoming consequences of unlimited spending coupled with fiat currency printing are downright terrifying. The time to question our government’s actions and the propaganda from both the administration and media is past. Now is the time to take measures to secure your family’s future. I doubt that food will continue to rise at this rate but what would you do if it did? A 76% increase in the price of food in 2014 would prove two things:

1. Consumer spending would be up.
2. Inflation would not be impacted since food and energy are not included in the government’s calculation of inflation.

How will you feed your children at this rate of food inflation? Or will you need to join the looters and get EBT cards?

EXERCISE POSEIDON COMPASS

Guerrillamerica

by Sam Culper III

Here’s my initial Concept of Exercise for POSEIDON COMPASS (so we can be cool with our own named exercise).

POSEIDON COMPASS

Background.

The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL) is organizing a gun rights rally on 05 April 2014 in Hartford, Connecticut (CT).  The rally’s objective is to bolster support for gun rights in CT, which have come under attack through state legislation mandating the registration of firearms outlined in Public Act 13-3, among other infringing regulations.  The rally will last for approximately three hours, from noon to 3pm EDT.

Overview.

EXERCISE POSEIDON COMPASS will facilitate intelligence collection and analysis for exercise participants.  Participants are divided into two groups: (1) ACE Team and (2) Collection.  The ACE Team will be further divided into three cells: (1) Requirements Management, (2) Collection Management, (3) Analysis.  I will act as the White Cell, which facilitates the execution of the exercise.  The Collection team will be on the ground at the rally, reporting back intelligence information that will be collated and analyzed by the ACE Team in order to turn around intelligence updates and a finished intelligence product.

Obamacare: Enforce it Now

Dr. Dan's Freedom Forum

With the “deadline” for Obamacare enrollment now upon us, the “spin doctors” are working overtime. This is, in truth, a constitutional crisis. The administration and its regulatory dictators have usurped the authority granted to Congress by changing the law to support their political necessities. Why allow the rule of law to derail their runaway train to collective utopia?

Once legislation is passed by both houses of Congress and signed into law by the President, it must be enforced as written. I have yet to find anywhere in the Constitution words that allow the executive branch alone to make significant changes in an enacted law without congressional consent.

THERE IS NOTHING THIS ADMINISTRATION WILL NOT RACE BAIT

As The Lonely Conservative notes, even 5 year-olds are going to be used as political footballs
Attorney General Eric Holder is promising to crack down on racist nursery schools who dare to discipline black children who misbehave.

The administration put out a new report Friday showing black youngsters make up 18% of kids enrolled in preschool but almost half the preschoolers suspended more than once. It suggested this was part of a racist conspiracy to start criminalizing black youths as toddlers.

“The fact that the school-to-prison pipeline appears to start as early as four years old, before kindergarten, should horrify us,” Education Secretary Arne Duncan said at a news conference.

In turn, Attorney General Eric Holder vowed to “aggressively disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline,” apparently by cracking down on racist nursery schools.

A Modest Proposal for Green Energy

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0uKf4YNYuc

From YouTube:

In 1729, Jonathan Swift sarcastically called for the eating of the young, so they could feed the Irish poor. He would be glad to know that we are in a progressive era, where the murder of babies for use as a resource wouldn’t be tolerated…oh wait…in the UK, they are using aborted fetuses to heat their hospitals?!?!?

Why Turkey Banned YouTube

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-1GooSDwJ8

Among the most damning sections:

Ahmet Davutolu: “Prime Minister said that in current conjuncture, this attack (on Suleiman Shah Tomb) must be seen as an opportunity for us.”

Hakan Fidan: “I’ll send 4 men from Syria, if that’s what it takes. I’ll make up a cause of war by ordering a missile attack on Turkey; we can also prepare an attack on Suleiman Shah Tomb if necessary.”

Feridun Sinirliolu: “Our national security has become a common, cheap domestic policy outfit.”

Ya?ar Güler: “It’s a direct cause of war. I mean, what’re going to do is a direct cause of war.”

Feridun Sinirolu: There are some serious shifts in global and regional geopolitics. It now can spread to other places. You said it yourself today, and others agreed… We’re headed to a different game now. We should be able to see those. That ISIL and all that jazz, all those organizations are extremely open to manipulation. Having a region made up of organizations of similar nature will constitute a vital security risk for us. And when we first went into Northern Iraq, there was always the risk of PKK blowing up the place. If we thoroughly consider the risks and substantiate… As the general just said…

Yaar Güler: Sir, when you were inside a moment ago, we were discussing just that. Openly. I mean, armed forces are a “tool” necessary for you in every turn.

Ahmet Davutolu: Of course. I always tell the Prime Minister, in your absence, the same thing in academic jargon, you can’t stay in those lands without hard power. Without hard power, there can be no soft power.

North Carolina mayor resigns; arrested on corruption charges

Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon addresses mayors and staffers in this City of Charlotte photo from December 2013. REUTERS/City of CharlotteThe mayor of North Carolina’s largest city resigned Wednesday after prosecutors said he had been arrested on federal public corruption charges that include accepting more than $48,000 in bribes from undercover FBI agents.

Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon, 47, said his resignation was effective immediately in a letter he sent to City Manager Ron Carlee and City Attorney Bob Hagemann.

“These charges will create too much of a distraction for the business of the city to go forward smoothly and without interruption,” he wrote.

Cannon faces charges of theft and bribery, wire fraud and extortion, which could carry up to 50 years in prison, according to the prosecutor’s office for the Western District of North Carolina.

Reid: Obamacare Has ‘Dropped Way Down in Significance’

As he outlined the Democrats’ “agenda for the middle class” on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told a news conference that “in Nevada and around the country, we have people sitting at their kitchen tables or in their living rooms expecting us to do something to help them.”

Reid said the Democrats’ priorities “reflect the priorities of the middle class,” including “fairness and opportunity for all.” But what about Obamacare?

“So Obamacare — if you do a poll of anyone, that’s dropped way down in significance,” Reid said.

He insisted that the recent congressional election in Florida, won by a Republican who campaigned against Obamacare, had nothing to do with Obamacare: “That was a district that was very, very white and quite old. It’s a district that had been Republican for 60 years,” Reid said, ignoring the fact that voters there twice went for President Obama.

RUSSIAN TROOP MOVEMENTS NEAR EASTERN UKRAINE TRIGGER FEARS OF IMMINENT INVASION

Ukrainian soldiers transport their tanks from their base in Perevalnoe, outside Simferopol, Crimea

by Bill Gertz

U.S. intelligence agencies warned Congress late Wednesday that Russian military forces are massing near Ukraine’s borders and appear ready to launch an invasion with little or no warning.

According to defense and intelligence officials, Russian military forces include more than 20,000 troops massing along Ukraine’s eastern border, with some units within 10 miles of the border.

“We’re certainly watching the buildups very, very closely,” said a senior defense official. “They are reinforcing their forces in the southern and eastern portions of Ukraine.”

According to the officials, buildup is alarming because of the numbers and the level of readiness.

“Based on both the size and the types of forces, they certainly have the capability and the readiness level to move into Ukraine should they choose to do this,” the defense official said.

Adding to the war fears are signs the Russians are positioned to carry out an invasion with little or no warning.

The Indomitable Spirit of An Armed Citizenry

christian mercenary

by T.L. Davis

It is painful to watch the last spasms of America playing out as clearly as if reading it from history. America is not just a place, it is a set of ideals so successful that it is easy to let one or two slide in the interest of peace. While the true ideal of liberty might be able to take a body blow now and then, it is always with the understanding that there will be a counter-punch that will set things right.

The clear decline of America is that it has stopped counter-punching and is just lying on the ropes being pummeled by a merciless federal government. The government has been so focused on landing one blow after another that it has become confident of a knockout. It will succeed in stripping every last vestige of liberty from the people once and for all. But, that changes the game.

When there is no hope of recovery, when each person looks at life as an endless string of abuses heaped on it by the rulers (who have long since ceased to be representatives) the only thing left to the individual is to fight.
