Death Threats

Ken from Knuckledraggin My Life Away and I have been discussing a topic that needs to be addressed by patriots and prepper groups. Now. Because we will not have time in the future to worry about internal attacks. Death threats and death lists are something new in my life. Anyone who has a death list that they will implement when the SHTF must be taken seriously.

I understand that most of these people are trying to establish some level of credibility and it may be a cry for help. Too bad. We will address much worse in the future from external enemies. If we have to face an internal threat also, we will lose.

Concerning a subject that has been mentioned in several places:

Death lists.

Here’s my own opinion on the subject.

The common theme among Patriot groups is a return to a Constitutional government. This is the only reason we exist. One of the guarantees of our Constitution is that every Citizen has a Right to a trial. Even if their actions clearly show they are guilty (Sen. Feinstein for example, of treason) they still have a Right to a trial by their peers. This trial must be orderly and allow both sides to produce evidence. It cannot be a trial by mob because at that point it’s no trial at all but mob “justice”.

What To Expect During The Next Stage Of Collapse

The Homeland Security apparatus will be turned completely inward, focusing entirely on “domestic enemies”.  The domain of the TSA will be expanded onto highways and city streets.  Local police will be fully federalized.  Northcom will field soldiers within U.S. border to deal with more resistant quarters of the country.  Totalitarianism will become the norm.

What Can We Do Right Now?

The level of collapse, I suspect, will not be total.  The government is not going to disappear, rather, it will become more dominant in its posture.  Certain sections of the country will be maintained while others fall apart.  The IMF will move in to “help” the ailing U.S. economy by tying funding to the SDR (Special Drawing Rights).  America’s economy will be absorbed by the IMF.  Constitutional protections will be fully erased in the name of reestablishing “law and order”, with the promise that the loss of our civil liberties is “only temporary”.

If the U.S. strikes Syria, and refuses to disengage, these things WILL happen.  So, the next question is what can we do about it?

Obama Pals Crafted Disastrous Fed Health Exchange Website

The heavily touted online federal healthcare exchange (Healthcare.gov) that got off to a disastrous start today was designed by a team made up entirely of Obama minions, including the design manager for the president’s 2008 campaign and the White House Deputy Director of New Media.

The expert team of Obama pals has been designing the bilingual website for months and it’s supposed to be the centerpiece of the new healthcare law, serving as an essential tool that will guide millions of Americans through the rigorous process of choosing insurance. Its appearance and modern technology are not commonly seen in most federal government websites, so it definitely sticks out though it’s not even working properly.  In fact the Spanish page isn’t functioning at all, delivering a message that says “lo sentimos, no podemos encontrar la página (Sorry, we can’t find the page).”

The English page isn’t all that efficient either, according to numerous news reports on this the first day of Obamacare. One mainstream newspaper says that the online insurance marketplaces created by President Obama’s healthcare law got off to a bumpy start as some consumers were kicked off web portals and several states reported glitches that slowed enrollment on the first day Americans were supposed to be able to sign up for coverage. In other instances the website simply froze when consumers tried to create accounts.

The Egyptian armed forces Monday, Sept. 30, launched an offensive to confront Al Qaeda and its Salafist allies for the first time in their lofty strongholds in the rugged central Sinai range of Jabal al-Halal, DEBKAfile’s exclusive military and counter terror sources disclose.

Until now, the Egyptian military and security forces, fought the terrorists in northern Sinai, but held back from braving them in the citadel they have dubbed the “Tora Bora of Sinai,” after the site of Osama bin Laden’s last stand in Afghanistan in 2011 against the American army.

The topography is similar: rocky peaks riddled with twisting wadis fringed with dense vegetation that conceal hundreds of natural caves, some inter-connected by tunnels. Terrorists familiar with this mazelike terrain pass easily between the caves invisible to attackers from the air.

The Jabal al-Halal mountain range has no proper roads, only narrow precipitous paths and trails, which are watched at all times by Al Qaeda sentinels posted above and are inaccessible to tanks and armored personnel carriers.

The Egyptian army tried once in the past to deploy armored forces against those mountain strongholds, only to be thrown back by a concerted onslaught of anti-tank fire by 3,000 armed men barricaded there.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that for the new offensive, Egypt is fielding a mechanized brigade, 3 commando battalions, an artillery unit armed with heavy 120mm mortars and a squadron of Apache attack helicopters. They are drawing on US and Israeli intelligence for assistance.

Gun group targets restaurants

Today marks implementation of a broad expansion of North Carolina’s concealed handgun law, including into restaurants and campuses. Grass Roots North Carolina has sought restaurant carry since 1996. Yet even once it became law, concealed handgun opponents began trying to undermine the ability of lawful North Carolinians to protect their families in restaurants by encouraging those restaurants to post signs prohibiting concealed carry.

High Risk Restaurant List

In response, the GRNC High Risk Restaurant Project will ensure the law is not undermined by asking the state’s nearly 400,000 concealed handgun supporters to report restaurants which post for inclusion in a High Risk Restaurant List which will be distributed across the state. Supporters will then be asked to contact merchants to explain why they are unable to patronize their businesses. Below is an excerpt from the alert just sent to the 87,000 recipients of GRNC’s email alert list.

KARL DENNINGER GOES JOHN GALT!

Economist Karl Denninger has gone John Galt.  The Market Ticker founder has released a statement that he is shutting down active market reports and updates at The Market Ticker, as he no longer wishes to actively fund the abuses of our fascist government and banking sector, and says in two words: “I’m done.”

I refuse to continue to silently accede to, and actively fund through my drive to acquire that measured in and rewarded by “wealth”, the rampant theft and fraud that has and continues to take place in the economic sector, especially in the banking and health care areas of our economy.  None of this could ever exist except through the insertion of the guns of government up the noses of the American people.
I can no longer live with being one of the better sources of funding for these abuses.  This decision did not come lightly, easily or quickly.  But I’m convinced it’s the right choice as things stand today.
In short, if you want it in two words, it’s this: I’m done.

Merck to slash 8,500 jobs, looks to cut $2.5-billion in costs annually

U.S. drug maker Merck & Co., taking a cue from other drug makers that have slashed research spending to prop up earnings, on Tuesday said it plans to cut annual operating costs by about $2.5-billion (U.S.) by the end of 2015 and eliminate 8,500 jobs.

By slimming itself down, Merck said it would be able to bolster its pipeline of experimental drugs, many of which have failed to win regulatory approval or suffered other setbacks in the past few years.

Liberty Fading

The Statue of Liberty is now closed as a consequence of the government shutdown. The symbolism is evident as people watch. Or are diverted. Which hand are we to watch? Today Obamacare is now in place. What does that mean? For me, it means that my health insurance will increase 68% on January 1, 2014.  Looking back over the past five years, I have not received the cost of even one month’s premium in medical costs. I received the following last night from another individual:

I just received my notice from BCBSNC of my new medical insurance premium.

I now pay $248.18 for a high-deductible policy for the two of us. It is 
a 'catastrophic' plan that requires us to pay all regular medical 
expenses out-of-pocket, which suits us fine due to the low premium. As 
an independent businessman, I pay for 100% of my premiums, of course.

According to the notice from BCBSNC, the equivalent policy under 
ObamaCare will cost me $968.48 starting January 1st, 2014.

I called BCBSNC and they verified that this was not an error or a joke.

President Barack Obama’s two day trip to South Africa in June cost taxpayers more than $2.2 million on hotel room and rental car costs alone, according to documents released by the State Department on Sunday.

All told, the trip cost as much as $100 million according to a pair of Republican House members.

The first family’s trip to sub-Saharan Africa was criticized by Reps. Mark Meadows (R., N.C.) and Steve Stockman (R., Texas) in June for its high price tag in the wake of budget cuts due to sequestration, though the visit went on as planned.

Two generals forced to retire for Afghanistan breach

In a rare move, the top Marine on Monday forced two generals into retirement after concluding they should be held to account for failing to secure a base in Afghanistan on which two Marines were killed by Taliban attackers a year ago.

Gen. James Amos, the commandant of the Marine Corps, said in announcing his decision that Maj. Gen. Charles M. Gurganus and Maj. Gen. Gregg A. Sturdevant “did not take adequate force protection measures” at Camp Bastion, an airfield in southwestern Afghanistan that was the Taliban target.

The Sept. 14, 2012 attack caught the Marines by surprise and resulted in the deaths of Lt. Col. Christopher K. Raible and Sgt. Bradley W. Atwell. Six Marine Harrier fighter jets were destroyed by the attackers and others were badly damaged.

Gurganus, who was the top American commander in that region of Afghanistan, did not order a formal investigation after the attack. In June, Amos asked U.S. Central Command to investigate, and he said he decided to take action against the two generals after reviewing the results of that investigation.
