Another 250 Million Rounds Of Ammunition For An Agency On A Bullet Diet

In the middle of December 2012, the Customs and Border Protection Agency presented a pre-solicitation for 50,000,000 rounds of .40 S&W caliber ammunition, ostensibly for training. The contract would provide a total of 250,000,000 rounds over the life of the 5 year contract. The contract was to be issued on 20 January 2013. CPB, an agency within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has included the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency with this solicitation.

Today, CPB and ICE announced via the solicitation process that they will be awarding the contract on or about October 7, 2013. Added to the original solicitation was this sentence:

“Resulting award will be used for training/qualifications only, not for duty use, and will be used as a direct substitution in lieu of procuring like quantities of duty ammunition.”

Judicial Watch Sues DOJ for Records of Holder Contempt Settlement Talks

Judicial Watch has sued the “most transparent administration” in history for details of Attorney General Eric Holder’s efforts to settle contempt charges filed against him for refusing to give Congress documents related to a scandalous gunrunning experiment that let Mexican drug traffickers obtain U.S.-sold weapons.

The goal behind this disastrous Obama administration plan— known as Fast and Furious—was to then trace the guns back to Mexican cartels. Instead the agency responsible for monitoring the guns, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), lost track of hundreds of weapons that later surfaced in a number of crimes, including the murder a U.S. Border Patrol agent (Brian Terry) in Peck Canyon Arizona.

Judicial Watch has an ongoing investigation into this huge Obama administration scandal and has filed a number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with various agencies. JW has been forced to sue both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the ATF for failing to provide records in a timely manner allotted by FOIA laws. Undoubtedly, the administration is in full cover-up mode and that includes blowing off a congressional probe.

In fact, last June President Obama made a highly controversial decision to assert Executive Privilege to shield the DOJ’s Fast and Furious records from disclosure. Executive privilege is reserved to “protect” White House records, not the records of federal agencies, which must be made available, subject to specific exceptions under FOIA. None of this seems relevant to the commander-in-chief who has repeatedly broken his promise to run the most transparent administration in history.

Median Household Income Has Fallen For FIVE YEARS IN A ROW

If the economy is getting better, then why do incomes keep falling?  According to a shocking new report that was just released by the U.S. Census Bureau, median household income (adjusted for inflation) has declined for five years in a row.  This has happened even though the federal government has been borrowing and spending money at an unprecedented rate and the Federal Reserve has been on the most reckless money printing spree in U.S. history.  Despite all of the “emergency measures” that have been taken to “stimulate the economy”, things just continue to get worse for average American families.  Americans are working harder than ever, but their paychecks are not reflecting that.  Meanwhile, the cost of everything just keeps going up.  The Federal Reserve insists that inflation is “low”, but anyone that goes grocery shopping or that stops at a gas station knows that is a lie.  In fact, if inflation was calculated the exact same way that it was calculated back in 1980, the inflation rate would be somewhere between 8 and 10 percent right now.  Paychecks are being stretched more than ever before, and that is probably the reason why about three-fourths of the entire country is living paycheck to paycheck at this point.

According to the Census report, the high point for median household income in the United States was back in 1999 ($56,080).  It almost got back to that level in 2007 ($55,627), but ever since then there has been a steady decline.  The following figures come directly from the report, and as you can see, median household income has fallen every single year for the past five years…

Ann Barnhardt: On Jibberish, Flattery and Francis

Why do you people all come here and read what I write and say, whether it be on financial markets, politics or theology?  How many of you came here due to one topic – say the MFGlobal meltdown – but now come and read my posts about Catholicism?  Or vice versa?  How many of you disagree with me, but still read every word I write and listen to every audio interview or video presentation I do?

The answer is because whenever I speak I always SAY SOMETHING CONCRETE, and I say it in extremely clear, even BLUNT language.  I make points.  Clear, explicit points.  I lay out a foundational premise, build a logical, rational framework on top of it, cite examples, make direct instructional analogues, and before you know it, we have all learned something.  This is called “rhetoric”, which is the art of discourse.  For some reason, I am really, really good at rhetoric, and good rhetoric is attractive.

Let’s talk about this modern problem of people speaking in mindless platitudes and even abject jibberish and being hailed as geniuses for doing so.  Two obvious examples of this are Obama and Francis.  I will be focusing on Francis, because I think we are all probably on the same page with regards to Obama’s mindlessness.

Obama has authorized 193 drone strikes in Pakistan – four times the amount authorized by George W. Bush. According to Global Research, over the past four years, Obama has authorized attacks in Pakistan which have killed more than 800 innocent civilians and just 22 Al-Qaeda officers.

What will it take for Americans to recognize evil?

I have no faith in our military leadership’s “oath” to our Constitution. I have no faith in a political solution: we can no longer refute the collusion between parties in Washington, D.C. to not solve problems but to exploit them. I have no faith in our churches which are more concerned with their tax status than the Word of God. They have abandoned their sacred task to produce moral and virtuous citizens. I have no faith in our judiciary which is only concerned with the administration’s agenda as shown with the “Constitutionality” of affordable health care as a tax.

Where does that leave us? The pResident is now arming al Qaeda. The correct term for providing comfort and support to our enemies is treason.

President Obama waived a provision of federal law designed to prevent the supply of arms to terrorist groups to clear the way for the U.S. to provide military assistance to “vetted” opposition groups fighting Syrian dictator Bashar Assad.

Some elements of the Syrian opposition are associated with radical Islamic terrorist groups, including al Qaeda, which was responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pa., in 2001. Assad’s regime is backed by Iran and Hezbollah.

The president, citing his authority under the Arms Export Control Act, announced today that he would “waive the prohibitions in sections 40 and 40A of the AECA related to such a transaction.”

Constitution Day

Some people find our Constitution difficult to read and understand. These same people probably find a “one way only” traffic sign confusing — given the fact that one can only go one way at any given time.

The United States Constitution contains only “enumerated powers.” When “We the people” ordained and established the Constitution, we in fact created the Federal government. The Federal government belongs to the people — the people are not property of the government. Implied powers are just that — implied — and subject to interpretation by the federal court system and the approval of the people.

All the powers entrusted to the Federal government are listed in Article 1, Section 8 – and detailed in the Clauses thereof. These clauses are not difficult to read or understand. Only Congress has the power to implement laws in accordance with the enumerated powers. Article 2 is brief because the powers of the Executive Branch were intended to be limited in scope — the main function of a president was to “swear” an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and then perform that function.

The only manner reserved to change the powers and decisions of Congress is through an Amendment to the Constitution. There are three methods of Amending the Constitution. The most common form of amendment is with a two-thirds vote by the House and Senate, and then ratification which must be approved by three-fourths of the states. Once the Amendment is approved by the states it is certified by the Archivist of the United States, who heads the National Archives and Records Administration. The only input allowed to the President is in signing the document as a “witness” if he so chooses and desires a photo opportunity.

Presidents have used Executive Orders to establish their goals. Since no President has any role in amending the Constitution, it logically follows that they have no authority to change existing law by use of Executive Order. Such an attempt would violate the Constitution and be grounds for removal from office.

Syrian Prime Minister Waal al-Khalqi knew what he was talking about when he said Monday, Sept. 16 that the Assad regime had plenty more assets up its sleeve for harming Israel and achieving strategic balance – even after surrendering its chemical weapons to international control. The Russian ships already on their way to Syria loaded with munitions for Bashar Assad’s army demonstrate the justice of his words.

Indeed the Syrian ruler would not have agreed to let go of his chemical arsenal without being certain of two major hindrances and two big rewards:

1. Syria’s chemical arsenal cannot be destroyed in its entirety – only a very small part thereof. Like most of the rhetoric surrounding the issue, the pledge the OPCW chairman Ahmet Uzumcu of Turkey gave the UN Secretary – that “the organization will move swiftly to eliminate Syria’s chemical weapon stockpile” – is more hot air than substance.

The Organization for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons – OPCW – is a small outfit which lacks the manpower and funds for this Herculean task; America alone is competent to perform it. It goes without saying that the Obama administration is not in the business of deploying thousands of US military personnel on the ground – even if Moscow and Damascus were amenable.
Washington might conceivably agree to train international personnel in the dismantling of chemical weapons. But that too would take a year or more. Special Syrian rebel units under US-Jordanian command have been taught how to handle chemical weapons in Jordan, but Assad is hardly likely to let them set foot in the country.
