Gun Control Tramples On The Certain Virtues Of A Heavily Armed Citizenry

Gun control advocates attempt to avoid the real issue of gun rights—why the Founders felt so strongly about gun rights that they singled them out for special protection in the Bill of Rights—by demanding that individual rights be balanced against a counterfeit collective right to “security” from things that go bump in the night.  But, the Bill of Rights was not a Bill of Entitlements that people had a right to demand from government; it was a Bill of Protections against the government itself.  The Founders understood that the right to own and bear laws is as fundamental and as essential to maintaining liberty as are the rights of free speech, a free press, freedom of religion and the other protections against government encroachments on liberty delineated in the Bill of Rights.

That is why the most egregious of the fallacious arguments used to justify gun control are designed to short-arm the citizenry (e.g., banning so-called “assault rifles”) by restricting the application of the Second Amendment to apply only to arms that do not pose a threat to the government’s self-proclaimed monopoly on the use of force.  To that end, the gun grabbers first must bamboozle people into believing the Second Amendment does not really protect an individual’s right to own and bear firearms.

Logic Would Dictate

gunlogic

Something  has got to break loose, and soon, folks.  We’ve all got to be playing Endgame at this point  – an enemy pawn has reached the 7th degree, and a white queen waits to steer it.  There are no rooks or knights left on the field, though a certain bishop may still be in play.

There is an old saying about, “Beware the Ides of march” which seems to be stuck in my head…

Iran to Citizens: Flee Isfahan

Iranian officials have instructed residents of Isfahan to leave the city, renewing concerns that a nearby nuclear site could be leaking radioactive material.

An edict issued Wednesday by Iranian authorities orders Isfahan’s one-and-a-half million people to leave the city “because pollution has now reached emergency levels,” the BBC reported.

However, outside observers suspect that the evacuation order may corroborate previous reports indicating that a uranium enrichment facility near Isfahan had been leaking radioactive material.

Tehran went to great lengths in December to deny these reports, telling state-run media outlets that “the rumors about leaking and contamination at Isfahan’s [Uranium Conversion Facility] are not true at all.”

Some Wisdom from Samuel Adams

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.

The Constitution shall never be construed… to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.

Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: First a right to life, secondly to liberty, and thirdly to property; together with the right to defend them in the best manner they can.

Our contest is not only whether we ourselves shall be free, but whether there shall be left to mankind an asylum on earth for civil and religious liberty.

The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on Earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but only to have the law of nature for his rule.

Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say ‘what should be the reward of such sacrifices?’ Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

What would Samuel Adams do to politicians trying to circumvent the 2nd amendment?

Republicans Cave, Obama Wins – Working Americans Lose

Bloomberg is reporting that the House Republicans will accept the Senate version to avoid the “fiscal cliff”. The House has abrogated its Constitutionally mandated requirements under Article I, Section 7 to the Senate and executive branch. And they have approved this legislation which is an affront to every working American with barely a whimper. What are Americans who still have honor to do under these circumstances?

It is apparent that our government will not solve our financial crisis which they have created. If a political solution is not the answer, our only alternatives are to opt out of the system (Go Galt), physically rebel against tyranny or a combination of these two options. Unless America has degraded to the point outlined succinctly by George Orwell:

Until they [the oppressed workers] become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.

Winston Smith
1984

Or has America’s apathy already become ingrained into our culture:

“Who cares?” she said impatiently. “It’s always one bloody war after another, and one knows the news is all lies anyway.”

Julia
1984

When an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men, will you join the fight to prevail?

House Republicans Drop Bid to Add Spending Cuts to Bill

House passage of the Senate bill would avert $600 billion in automatic tax increases and spending cuts that take effect starting today. The Senate passed its plan on an 89-8 vote early this morning.

“Let’s accept the wins that we have and live to fight another day,” Cole said in an interview on Bloomberg Television.

When Is It Time to Defend the Constitution?

I asked Stewart Rhodes a simple question on May 30, 2012: At what point will people who have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution actually defend it? This was not a trick question and he answered it from his heart. But now the country is in a different position. Mr. Rhodes’ first response to attacks on the Constitution was nullification. This step has failed. The second response after nullification was civil disobedience. How can you be disobedient when the government has disarmed the people? Will restricting the right (and duty) to bear arms be the catalyst for Oath Keepers to finally stand up?

I know it is easy to sit at a keyboard and chastise people. I also know it is hard to stand up for your principles when the consequences may require the ultimate sacrifice. But now is the time to ask this question again: At what point will people who have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution actually defend it? T.L. Davis has a similar request.

David DeGerolamo

The Good Cops Need To Declare Themselves Now

For the Oathkeepers, it is time to stand up. Whether they like being told what to do, or not, that is what needs to happen and pretty fast. We are at a point where we need to know who the good cops are, who the good people are.

Damn the Constitution – Senate Approves ‘Fiscal Cliff’ Deal

Under the Constitution of the United States:

Article 1, Section 7. All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.

The headlines today are praising the Democratic controlled Senate for approving a “fiscal cliff” deal”. The media is strangely silent on the absence of Harry Reid after blocking this legislation and being bypassed by Vice President Biden to complete the deal. What will the Republican controlled House of Representatives do? If they support this “deal” which will automatically raise taxes by 2% on the majority of people through the restoration of personal contributions of Social Security, the average family will lose $2000 off of the top of the first $100,000 in payroll. $50 a week will hurt.

If the House rejects the deal, then the media, president and Democrat leaders will blame (yet again) the Republicans for the financial collapse. I hope John Boehner has a large supply of Kleenex because he will be crying along with the rest of the people who actually work and pay tribute to Washington.

An open letter concerning the “Gun Control” threats made by public figures and Legislators

01/01/13

If some drunk runs over a bunch of preschoolers at a bus stop, that does not give you, society or the government the right/authority to take MY car or restrict what kind of car I can own.

If some meth head goes on a rampage at the local day care with a chainsaw, that does not give you, society or the government the right/authority to take MY chainsaw or restrict what kind of chainsaw I can own.

If some insane boy-man guns down a bunch of school kids with any kind of firearm, that does not give you, society or the government the right/authority to take MY firearm or restrict what kind of firearm I can own.

The US has over 300 Federal and major State Firearms laws on the books(a very conservative figure). Every one of which is unconstitutional. No law will save you from the insane or criminally inclined. The only thing that will suffice to defend your family is the ownership of a weapon and the will to use it.

QUIT COWERING – ANN BARNHARDT

NEW YEAR’S EVE HORS DOEUVRES

POSTED BY ANN BARNHARDT – DECEMBER 31, AD 2012 4:54 PM MST

1. I release both myself and everyone else from the expectation of correct spelling of any French word with three or more consecutive vowels. Frogs. And their ridiculous Frog language. Don’t get me started.

2. If you ever get the chance, parktake of Timmerman’s Strawberry Lambic. It’s strawberry beer, y’all. I ordered it with my lunch today thinking that it would either be wicked-nasty or sublime, and it turned out to be sublime. It’s beer…made out of strawberries.

US To Officially Go Over The Fiscal Cliff

As we forecast back in November, it is now official that the House will not vote on any deal out of the Senate, assuming there is one which there won’t be of course, later today, which means America will officially slide off the Fiscal Cliff. And now cue everyone being very hopeful and optimistic a deal will get done momentarily, if not sooner, in 2013. Of course, we all know just how far optimism takes America’s dysfunctional Congress. The biggest irony in all of this is thatthe only winners today were the much hated “1%”-ers, whose taxes may or may not go up, who just got to book major year end profits on this last minute ramp. The remainder of America’s population can quietly look forward to 2013 with “hope” and “optimism” that in 2013 Congress will finally stop being dysfunctional. Good luck. Oh, and before we forget, America just breached its debt ceiling: now the pillaging of various government retirement funds begins.

Finally, since the US is now officially over the cliff, does this mean that Ben Bernanke can finally get to work? Recall his words:

“if the economy actually went off the fiscal cliff, our assessment, the CBO’s assessment, outside forecasters, all think that that would have very significant adverse effects on the economy and on the unemployment rate. And so, on the margin, we would try to do what we could. We would perhaps increase a bit.”

Is it time to increase QE just “a bit” then?

From YouTube:

Panels are made in Waco Texas by Armorcore (www.ArmorCore.com). They make bullet resistant fiberglass panels for many uses. An improvised use would be ballistic panels to protect humans if regular armor plates are not available. The company does not recommend this or design this product for this use so no warranty and user accepts all liability for improper use. Could also be used to armor vehicles. For educational use only: don’t try at home.
