Tapped Out US Consumer Makes, Spends Less In October, Real Income Falls For Third Month

It was only appropriate that on a day in which our chart of the day confirmed that the US consumer is getting increasingly more broke, we got an update of Personal Income and Personal Spending, both of which missed expectations and declined substantially. October income printed at 0.0%, down from 0.4% in September, and below expectations of 0.2%, while spending plunged from 0.8% all the way into negative territory at -0.2%, missing expectations of an unchanged print. Counterintuitively, the spin is that this miss was due to Sandy, when this makesabsolutely zero sense: as a reminder Sandy only hit in the last 4 days of October, which means it had no time to impact income, and if anything it prompted an increase in spending as consumers stockpiled ahead of the landfall. But that’s why they call it spin. Of course, none of this should come as a surprise: the implied savings rate in September hit a multi-year low of 3.3%, which means going forward the blend of spending and savings will be unpleasant for stocks as consumers have no choice but to rebuild savings once more. And finally, the most disturbing metric, and one which is a red flashing light for all those predicting yet another economic renaissance in 2013, is that real Disposable Income declined by 0.1%: the third decrease in 3 months, confirming that on an inflation adjusted basis the consumer peaked in the summer, and it is all downhill from here.

“The Law” as Ruse

Rightful Law is a society’s definition of “what constitutes an offense, against which an individual or group may defend itself .”   Rightful Liberty is everything which is not a violation of Rightful Law.

“The Law” in every rightful sense, does not directly protect one individual from another, nor does it directly protect any individual or group from another group, nor from the government which administers said law.  Any assertion to the contrary is pure hubris.  Even more ridiculous is the proposition, so popular today, that “The Law” can or should protect an individual or group from its own ignorance, cupidity, carelessness, or irresponsibility.

“The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings capable of law, where there is no law, there is no freedom.”  –  John Locke

Our founding fathers did not give us a body of laws with a promise to protect us from anything.  “The Law” was never intended to be more complex than the average man could comprehend, nor was it ever intended to be burdensome upon any man of sound reason.  Of a certainty, they did not intend “The Law” to be a contrivance by which one class of people could wring social power and/or financial gains from the rest of society.

Why The American Spirit Must Survive…

This is why the American Spirit must survive, and is the inescapable reason why it WILL prevail.

A New York City police officer is photographed giving boots to a homeless man on Nov. 14. (NYPD/Facebook)

A photo of a New York City police officer kneeling down to give a barefoot homeless man in Times Square a pair of boots on a cold November night is melting even the iciest New Yorkers’ hearts online.

On Nov. 14, NYPD officer Lawrence DePrimo, who was on counterterrorism duty in Times Square, saw the older homeless man without shoes sitting on 42nd Street. DePrimo, 25, left and then returned with a pair of $100 boots he bought at a nearby Skechers store.

“It was freezing out, and you could see the blisters on the man’s feet,” DePrimo, a three-year veteran of the department who lives with his parents on Long Island, told the New York Times. “I had two pairs of socks, and I was still  cold.”

Want a Secure Retirement? Join a Union or Work for the Government

The approximate $4 trillion invested in private retirement plans is now in the crosshairs of the administration. This confiscation has been discussed over the past four years but the “fiscal cliff” may be the excuse to accomplish the final phase of redistribution. What can you do? The only way to win is not to play the game: get out of the system.

Does Government Want To Drain Americans’ 401(k) Plan?

War On Wealth: As Washington debates what to do about the fiscal cliff that it foolishly created, many potential sources of new revenue will be thrown on the table. One of them is likely to be 401(k) plans.

Retirement is an American’s reasonable expectation. We put money into investment plans so that our work today funds our hard-earned leisure of tomorrow.

What Is the Greater Threat to Freedom than Liberalism and Conservatism?

I never thought about classifying Ayn Rand in a political sense, only in an economic sense. But then I never thought about classifying economic systems with political parties mainly because I have some respect for economic systems like free market Capitalism in a moral society. Left wing, right wing, moderate or any other label does not matter if the individual does not even know what it truly represents. A moderate is someone too apathetic to take a stand based on knowledge and values.

So what label represents you? What political party represents you? Maybe we should be asking different questions of ourselves instead of expecting results from ideologies and parties that have failed.  Here is a portion of the interview that was left out of the article:

Further, it should be clear that I do not endorse the filthy slogan, “The end justifies the means.”  That was originated by the Jesuits, and accepted enthusiastically by Communists and Nazis.  The end does not justify the means; you cannot achieve anything good by evil means.

Ayn Rand

We should never consider let alone compromise,  good with evil. Once we accept that premise, we have to accept the political situation in Washington, D.C. and Raleigh, North Carolina.

David DeGerolamo

Ayn Rand Was NOT a Libertarian

Many people assume that Ayn Rand was a champion of libertarian thought.

But Rand herself pilloried libertarians, condemning libertarianism as being a greater threat to freedom and capitalism than both modern liberalism and conservativism.  For example, Rand said:

This video was taken from our security camera on November 27, 2012. Looks like this Fed Ex delivery person is Fed Up. The repeated kicks of the package that was heard inside our office was the reason we went back and reviewed the footage.

Director of NC LISTEN slandered by News & Observer

Concerned citizens and Immigration Reformers,

I have contacted the News & Observer today in protest to the re-naming of the People’s Forum article I wrote, appearing in the N&O today. I had titled my article, “Immigration & GOP”, but it was changed by someone in the Editorial Board to “Low-grade Immigrants”.  The article was in response to an op-ed piece written earlier by Rick Martinez.  I believe the Editorial Board of the N&O did this because they wished to slander my point of view before the article was even read by subscribers of the newspaper and to misrepresent my intent.  I don’t consider legal immigrants to be low-grade.

I had only 200 words to make several points, and one of my points was to show that low-skilled and poorly educated immigrants are more likely to vote for Democrats because Democrats will always out-promise the Republicans when it comes to government social service programs.  One of my other points was to suggest an amnesty or promise of one is not going to get Hispanic votes for Republicans, as evidenced by what I stated.

The N&O’s editorial board will not deter me.  I have skin thicker than tree bark.  But I will not stand idly by and watch them distort what I have to say.  It only shows yet again how much of the media is openly prejudiced in their view instead of being impartial.

Send this to your associates.

Ron Woodard

Surprise: Right After The Election, New Home Sales Tumble From Downward Revised Two Year High

There are those who may be surprised that last month’s number of Seasonally Adjusted New Home Sales, which was then reported at 389K, and which number hit the airwaves days before the Obama reelection, was the highest since April 2010. We are not among them, as we were fully expecting today’s number to be a major revision of the September number lower – as just happened, with the whopper of a print revised far lower to 369K – but doubled down with the additional miss of expectations of Seasonally Adjusted annualized new home sales of 390K for October when in reality only 368K were sold. All these numbers are annualized. When observed on an as is basis, in October there was a grand total of 29,000 new homes sold in the entire USA, with the Northeast representing a whopping… 2,000 of this. Oh and of the 29,000 houses sold, 9,000 were not even started. And finally, for those who enjoy pointing out the rise in home prices driven only and exclusively by foreclosure inventory stuffing and removal of all such real estate from the open markets, both the median and average new home price ($237,700 and $278,900) printed at at the lowest since June. Oh wait, we know: Sandy’s fault. Which explains all bad data. When the data is good, it is nobody’s fault.

Please point out the housing “recovery” on the chart below.

The Gaza Operation: Less a War than an Anti-Iran Coup

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4CPy8zh4Bc

The eight-day Gaza duel between Israel and Hamas was the showcase.  Behind it, a coup went forward, masterminded by at least three intelligence wizards: Israel’s Mossad Direct Tamir Pardo, Turkish National Intelligence Organization – MIT chief, Hakan Fidan and the Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Jassim al Thani, who also heads the emirate’s intelligence service.  The CIA was in close touch.

Their aim was to abort the military ties Tehran was cultivating with Hamas before the Gaza Strip is grabbed as Iran’s springboard to Cairo. To this end, wave upon wave of multiple missile assaults on Israel were provoked.
The coup action was designed as Part One of US President Barack Obama’s overall plan, which is to harness the Arab Spring to key US objectives. His partners were – and are – Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, Turkish premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Obama’s next stop is Syria where matters are coming to a head on several fronts.

The plan, if Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense worked, was to chart a new future for the radical Hamas terrorists by their transformation into the legitimate voice of the Palestinian people for which they still need some grooming and more than a touch of the airbrush.

Hamas has the advantage of being the most popular boy on the Palestinian block, which is why the Fatah leader and Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas has avoided an election for six years.

This Is the Right to Free Speech in a True Democracy

Our forefathers understood that Democracy was mob rule. Here is another example of Democracy in action previously supported by president Obama. The people involved in the production of a film depicting Mohammed in a negative light have been sentenced to death in absentia by an Egyptian court. Of course that would never happen in the United States. Here, the dictatorial regime used the movie’s trailer as part of a cover-up of the death of our US ambassador in Benghazi. Here, the director was put in prison for a year after being arrested without access until the “election” was over.

Egyptian Christians sentenced to death for anti-Islam film

(Reuters) – A Cairo court on Wednesday sentenced to death seven Egyptian Christians tried in absentia for participating in an anti-Islam video that was released on the Internet in September and had prompted violent protests in many Muslim countries.

“The seven accused persons were convicted of insulting the Islamic religion through participating in producing and offering a movie that insults Islam and its prophet,” Judge Saif al-Nasr Soliman said.

The crude, low-budget video, produced privately in California, denigrated the Prophet Mohammad and triggered anti-U.S. protests and attacks on Western embassies around the Muslim world.

JIM WILLIE: IMMUTABLE GOLD LAWS

Several immutable Gold Rules appear to be self-evident and powerfully manifested in the modern world of banker corruption, financial market intervention, currency debasement, phony accounting, and economic deterioration, all amidst powerful incessant media propaganda, against a backdrop of endless war. The global fascism movement has taken deepest root in what during the 1960 through 1980 decade was the capitalism regions steeped in democracy. Since the Lehman Brother scuttle and the Fannie Mae adoption and the AIG black hole admission, the financial crisis that began with the housing bubble and subprime mortgage bust has turned virulent. The global financial crisis is better described as a global monetary war to defend the toxic USDollar, whose sunset can be seen. In the last 12 to 18 months, the monetary war has again morphed, this time into a far more serious and financially violent global Gold War. Nations are fast realizing that their only true liquid assets of value are their gold reserves, and even they have been tampered with or stolen in a vast re-hypothecation scheme.

-the Gold Standard will return out of the force of value and valid solution
-the Zero Percent Interest Rate Policy assures the continued Gold Bull Market
-the continued Quantitative Easing assures the shrinking profit margins, job cuts, reduced business
-the ZIRP & QE assure eventual USGovt debt default and systemic failure
-criminal activity is rising to keep the fiat paper currency system in place
-with the rise in official govt gold accounts demanded for repatriation,
– THE ALLOCATED GOLD ACCOUNT SCANDAL is growing near
-the movement of large Gold volume from London to East brings with it a grand shift in geopolitical power
-the advent of Gold Wars comes after sovereign bond busts, allocated gold account demands
-a Wild Card comes with the imminent death of King Abdullah, as the House of Saud will fall
-with it goes the Petro-Dollar, a crippling blow to the USDollar itself
-the Gold Price will break out in all major currencies, having been led by the EuroGold price
