Palestinian terrorists from the Gaza Strip fired two Grad rockets into Israel overnight Saturday, damaging two buildings in Netivot and causing five civilians to suffer shock symptoms. The attacks came just days after an escalation along Israel’s southern border which resulted in the killing of six Palestinians the IDF said were plotting terrorist attacks against Israelis.

Around 2:00 a.m., terrorists fired a Grad rocket at Beersheba. Residents in the city heard an explosion, but there were no reports of damage. Authorities searched the city for the remains of the rocket. The Iron Dome battery stationed near the city did not launch an intercept as the Grad fell in an open area and did not endanger the civilian population.

Chemical threat is back. Hizballah, Israel close to clash

Syrian CB weaponsThe first US-Turkish backed steps for creating safe havens in Syria and possible strategic bombardment of the Syrian army have brought the Middle East close to two dangerous junctures: The Syrian army’s use of chemical weapons, and an outbreak of hostilities between Hizballah and Israel, DEBKAfile’s military sources report. The creeping Western involvement in the Syrian conflict was not previously acknowledged and the Lebanese Shiite Hizballah rarely figured publicly as a fighting prop of the Assad regime.

That is until the dam burst Friday and Saturday, Sept 7-8.

The United States then admitted that US officials and intelligence agents were training and aiding Syrian rebels from positions on the Turkish border – and therefore directly intervening in their operations.
This admission came on the heels of the DEBKAfile disclosure of Sept. 6 that Turkish officers backed by US agents had taken command of two Syrian rebel brigades.

Britain and France came next to report they were sending aid directly to the Syrian opposition, a more cautious admission than the American reference to officials and agents, but clearly on the same track, which adds up to their direct intervention in Syria for the creation of safe havens.

SUBPRIME AUTO NATION

Have you heard the news? Auto sales are booming. Total sales for the month of August were 1,285,202 vehicles, according to Autodata Corp, the highest monthly sales figure for any August since 2007, when 1.47 million autos were sold in the United States. Year to date auto sales have totaled 9.7 million and are on track to reach 14.5 million. Between 2006 and 2007, auto sales ranged between 16 million and 18 million. They crashed below 10 million in 2009. The Keynesians running our government have pulled out all the stops to restart this engine of consumer spending. First they wasted $3 billion of taxpayer funds on the Cash for Clunkers debacle. Almost 700,000 perfectly good cars were destroyed in order to keep union workers happy.  This Keynesian brain fart distorted the used car market for two years, raising prices for cars needed by the working poor. After that miserable failure, they realized the true secret to selling vehicles is to give them away to anyone that can scratch an X on a loan document, with 0% interest for 60 months, financed by Federal government controlled banking interests. Add in some massive channel stuffing and presto!!! – You’ve got an auto sales boom.

Name The New Reserve Currency: China Imports More Gold In 2012 Than All ECB Holdings

The last time we looked at monthly Chinese imports of gold from Hong Kong in 2012, the comparable country in question was Portugal (whose citizens, if not central bank, incidentally have run out of gold to sell), because that is whose total gold holdings (at 382.5 tons) Chinese imports had just surpassed. Fast forward a month later, and the update is even more disturbing. In July, Chinese gold imports from HK, after two months of declines, have picked up once more and hit a 3-month high of 75.8 tons. While it is notable that this number is double the 38.1 tons imported a year prior, and that year-to-date imports are now a record 458.6 tons, well over four times greater than the seven month total in 2011 which was 103.9 tons, what is far more important is that in the first seven months of 2012 alone China has imported nearly as much gold as the total holdings of the hedge fund at the heart of the Eurozone, elsewhere known simply as the European Central Bank, and just as importantly considering the import run-rate has hardly slowed down in August, which data we will have in a few weeks, it is now safe to say that in 2012 alone China has imported more gold than the ECB’s entire official 502.1 tons of holdings.

What is most amusing is that China, via the IMF, still wants the world to believe that total Chinese official holdings are just 1040 tons (double the ECB’s), when it has imported half this amount in 2012 alone.

Since the Knight-algo was put-to-death, NYSE volumes have coincidentally plunged by 40%!

FXS – 1 millisecond interval, showing about 1 second of data.

The above picture appears to be an algo testing out its ability to rapidly back away from the market from multiple exchanges when a large, informed order appears. Based on this chart, it looks like HFT is able to withdraw from multiple markets in a few milliseconds. (Zerohedge.com)

Since the Knight algorithm was taken out of the market, the volume of stock trades on the NYSE has dropped 40%. This means that the bulk of stock trades are high frequency trades (HFT) and program trades at the end of the day where price is irrelevant. Program trades executed by “brokers” investing in retirement plans, just dump your allocation into the pot and go home: the price of the stock does not impact their commission or salary. This accounts for about 25% of the day’s trades and why the markets usually go up at the end of the day.

But let’s get back to the picture. Continue reading

Will Ann Barnhardt Lose Everything in Her Fight Against Tyranny?

At some point in our lives, we have to make a stand for our beliefs. My beliefs are simple:

1. Liberty is a natural law given to us by God. No man can take it from me.

2. When taxation becomes tribute without representation, it is our Sacred honor to defend our freedom from tyranny.

3. Until the people start to suffer, they will not stand up for their rights. In other words, the country is filled with cowards.

4. Our churches have sacrificed the Word of God for their own security.

5. Both political parties are responsible for our usurpation. The Constitution and what it represents is far greater than one president, an impotent Congress and a corrupt Supreme Court.

How “Crazy Survivalists” Make The World A Better Place

by Brandon Smith

I was recently interviewed by a journalist for a local newspaper who was developing a story on the exponential rise of the “prepper lifestyle” in America, most especially in Western Montana.  Being an outsider to the Liberty Movement, she was naturally curious as to what motivated us to make what some in our culture would see as a drastic and bewildering leap away from the mainstream.  She was equally fascinated with our willingness to travel great distances and make substantial sacrifices to live in regions like the American Redoubt.

I would like to point out to the non-prepper populace the advantages of having some of us “loony” survivalists around.  Rarely in the mainstream are we ever presented with the utility of survival proponents, and how they actually serve the interests of the “greater good” to quote a phrase often used by drooling collectivists and statists who desperately try to defame the prepper subculture…

Advantage #1:  Survivalists Have Their Own Stuff – They Don’t Need Your Stuff

Canada Closes Embassy, Expels Iranian Diplomats

Canada and France have been our two primary channels of communication with Iran, since the US has had no formal diplomatic relations with the ‘Islamic Republic’ since the hostage crisis of 1979.  We are now one step closer to war…

JP Morgan and Goldman See $1,800/oz Gold By Year End – Iran, Middle East and Inflation Risks Cited

Research houses, analysts and banks are revising their estimates for year end 2012 gold prices higher.

They believe that concerns about inflation and demands for gold as a store of value should lead to higher gold prices by the end of 2012.

JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs have overnight revised upwards their year end forecasts to $1,800/oz and $1,840/oz respectively.

JPMorgan said in a note that it expects gold to move toward $1,800/oz by year end, citing negative real interest rates in the U.S., sovereign risk in Europe and instability in the Middle East.

Goldman Sachs sees gold at $1,840/oz by end-2012.  Goldman cite the supply side fundamentals and monetary policy easing which are very supportive.

So said Jeffrey Currie, head of commodities research at Goldman in an interview with Linzie Janis on Bloomberg Television.

Currie believes monetary policy easing and FOMC pursuing QE3 “will be critical to putting upward pressure on gold prices”.

Goldman remain most bullish on oil as a trade due to supply issues and the “situation in Iran”.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch said that gold may reach $2,000/oz by yearend.

Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm at the DNC

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKux363Dg64

Jennifer Granholm states that the auto bailout saved 25,000 jobs in North Carolina. As with the rest of the supposed 1,000,000 jobs saved by the auto bailout of General Motors and Chrysler, there is no proof. As for actual facts, private property was stolen (GM bonds) and redistributed to the labor unions. General Motors is now looking for a $5 billion loan, Volt production is shut down and GM dealerships are channel stuffed. Since no one is buying new cars, GM is now offering sub-prime loans:

90+% of GM auto loans are now of the Freddie Mac-Fannie Mae-esque subprime variety – made to people whom GM and everyone else know can’t pay them back.

The American taxpayers will lose $42 billion on this bailout. Under Obama, the resurrected General Motors has lost 34.47% of its value (from CNNMoney.com):
