Government Mandated “Event Recorder” in Your Next Car

Yes, Big Brother will be riding with you.   Like Steppenwolf sang so many years ago:

“There’s a monster on the loose … and he just sits there watching.”

A bill already passed by the Senate and set to be rubber stamped by the House would make it mandatory for all new cars in the United States to be fitted with black box data recorders from 2015 onwards.

This is the legislation reported in the NY Daily News this past January.

The text from the relevant section of the proposed law …  (you got to pass it to see what’s in it!)

S. 1813 – ‘Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act’ or the ‘MAP-21’

SEC. 31406. VEHICLE EVENT DATA RECORDERS.

(a) Mandatory Event Data Recorders-

(1) IN GENERAL- Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall revise part 563 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, to require, beginning with model year 2015, that new passenger motor vehicles sold in the United States be equipped with an event data recorder that meets the requirements under that part.

(2) PENALTY- The violation of any provision under part 563 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations–

GRNC Alert 4-18-12: Skip Stam’s Puppet Must Be DEFEATED!

Remember Skip Stam, the one who cost you lawful storage in your vehicle at work?

Stam has now recruited a former underling: Chad Barefoot, who he is trying to maneuver into the Senate for puppet-like manipulation. Stam wants to control the strings of Barefoot and others to more easily infringe on MORE OF YOUR RIGHTS!  Skip is pitting Barefoot against a strong constitutionalist, Glen Bradley in the campaign forNC Senate District 18. It is CRITICAL to NC gun rights that Chad “The Puppet” Barefoot is DEFEATED by Glen Bradley! Only YOU can make this happen!

GRNC is prepared to assist but we NEED YOU to volunteer to man phone banks, distribute leaflets and man polls. Residents of Chatham, Durham and Lee counties, this is your call to duty!

Return America Rally

Return America Rally

I want to let you know of an important upcoming rally. In their ongoing efforts to help pass the Marriage Protection Amendment, the group Return America is hosting a rally on April 20th at 11:00 am. We urge all faithful marriage supporters in the Raleigh area to please come to Halifax Mall behind the Legislative Building (16 W. Jones Street—Raleigh, NC) and be a part of this important event to show your support for the Marriage Protection Amendment.

The union of one man and one woman has been the definition of marriage since before North Carolina has been a state and since the United States has been a country. God is the author of marriage and virtually every nation since the dawn of time has recognized marriage as one man and one woman.

There is certainly great power in numbers – let’s stand together for marriage at this rally.

Sincerely,

Kami Mueller
Communications Director

Another Tea Party Patriot Debacle

Arlington National Cemetery

I received the following email concerning the primary vote in North Carolina on May 8th. I do not know why some names are capitalized and some are not. This is another example of how the Tea Party movement is missing the point of restoring our founding principles. Mitt Romney and Pat McCrory are the best examples of how the Republican party forces candidates on the people. Mitt Romney is a Tea Party candidate? In what universe? The same universe that shoved McCain down our throats.? How can any patriot group support Pat McCrory after his progressive record in Charlotte:

During his 14 years as Charlotte’s mayor, McCrory was pegged as a moderate Republican by most voters and as a RINO (Republican In Name Only) by conservative critics. He championed light rail; the U.S. Whitewater Center; transportation and land-use planning; tree ordinances; sidewalk policies; the Uptown arena; and other projects that routinely angered conservatives.

Occupy Winston-Salem protester pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An Occupy Winston-Salem protester arrested outside city hall as police broke up a meeting last year has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

William Bryan Bridge, 21, was arrested Dec. 20 as police asked about 20 protesters to leave the southwest lawn. Winston-Salem Police said the group had stayed longer than the city ordinance at the time allowed. Continue reading

Van Jones Is Now Attacking Virginia Foxx

Rebuild the Dream

From Rebuild the Dream:

I don’t think I could be any more outraged right now: Congresswoman Virginia Foxx told a radio interviewer last week that she has “very little tolerance for people who tell me that they graduate with $200,000 of debt or even $80,000 of debt, because there’s no reason for that.”1

Oh really? So it’s my fault if I have student debt?

But Foxx isn’t just any member of Congress. She’s the CHAIR of the Higher Education & Workforce Training Subcommittee in the House. That’s right, she controls policy on the issue of student debt, and she thinks you’re a loser and a whiner if you have student loans.

Someone with Foxx’s extreme views has no business setting education policy. Speaker Boehner and the rest of Congress need to publicly denounce her remarks.

Click here to tell Speaker Boehner and members of Congress to denounce Rep. Foxx for her absurd remarks.

The Federal Government is getting prepared…shouldn’t you?

httpv://youtu.be/Gx6mYjkGKa0

The government has dropped all pretense of providing solutions…and is openly preparing for civil unrest in urban areas of America.

I have been getting reports for the past few months from friends across the country about substantial military activity near their homes and places of work- in Chicago, the San Francisco Bay area, Seattle/Tacoma, Houston, Raleigh/Durham, Baltimore, and also in Boston  – folks are witnessing sustained activity levels of military training.  Flights of Apache and/or Black Hawk helicopters are now regular sights in/around many of these cities.  Also becoming common are reports of A-10 “Warthog” jets flying what seem to be simulated bombing/strafing runs over suburban residential areas on the edge of these metro’s.  After seeing the news regarding the Chicago “exercises” this week, I decided to do some checking… the results of a quick search were impressive.  After filtering out all material which could be deemed questionable, I still found confirmation of military exercises being conducted in a dozen America cities in the past year.

Ten Fracking Things Everyone Should Know

by Peter Glover

Here’s a fact that can be banked. The anti-fracking movement is the trendy new cause célèbre. Unfortunately, not many of those involved appear to have the slightest idea how long it’s been used as a mining extraction process and that it has an incredibly safe antecedent history record. That is not to say that accidents don’t happen or haven’t taken place. It’s the nature of the technological advancement beast that accidents – even negligence – will occur. Nor does it that infer some companies don’t occasionally need their butt kicked to comply with regulatory oversight, such as cleaning up tail ponds, et al.

Essentially, however, the whole anti-fracking movement has its head where the sun doesn’t shine – and here are just ten reasons why.

  1. Hydraulic fracking has been around for 60 years. Developments made by U.S. engineers around 2008-9 have simply made the process much more commercially viable. Continue reading

The Consequences of Fake Conservatives

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

As I wrote earlier regarding the difference between a conservative and a patriot, conservatives (specifically fake conservatives) looking to the Republican Party to save our nation are as dangerous to our continued freedom as the Obama administration. Brandon Smith at alt-market.com expands upon this premise:

“If Americans plan to look to the GOP to save them from the jaws of impending disaster, they had better reconsider that foolish notion.  Obama may be riding the economic collapse straight at us like a wild Mako shark, but that’s no excuse to delude ourselves with fantasies of a Republican savior.  Mitt Romney (a man whose legislative record is little different from Obama’s) is just the tip of the iceberg.”

The article below continues this premise as the false two party paradigm “tries to make us believe again….” People learn from their mistakes and this is part of the maturing process in our personal lives. The consequences of our mistakes may be minimal though life changing. The consequences of our apathy, fear of the future and blind allegiance to political ideologies that continue to fail have led our country to bankruptcy and now jeopardizes what is left of our freedom. I have to wonder what the future holds as Congress has not even been able to pass a budget for over 1000 days, the president overrides the Constitutional balance of powers unchallenged and some members of the Supreme Court openly criticize our founding principles. I also have to wonder why the government feels the need to buy 750 million rounds of 40 cal. hollow point (not including .223).

David DeGerolamo

Fake Conservatives As Dangerous To Freedom As Obama

If Americans are looking for anything in the dark clouds of political dust and powdered ash that choke our air and leave us feeling naked against the elements, it is but a simple moment of sincerity.  It sounds like an easily attainable thing, and yet, we continue to gasp and clamor.  The visible surface of our nation is so devoid of honest connection with our social voice that we have turned to a cynical form of loneliness.  We have embraced a life without clarity, and been made wretchedly bitter, desperate for even the faintest taste of truth.

End the Love Affair with the Occupy Movement

Starting on April 15, Occupy Raleigh community members return to the Capitol Sidewalk for regular demonstrations against economic injustice

The occupiers are back at the Capitol in Raleigh trying to reorganize their attempts to represent the 99%. Based on their numbers at the statewide rally last month, they do not even represent 1% of the people. Although Josh Harris presents examples of greed on Wall Street below that cannot be refuted, I do not see their point since no cogent plan of action is ever presented. The media (and NC Secretary of State Elaine Marshall) have a love affair with this movement but what will they accomplish? Time will tell if they will be an effective catalyst of change (very doubtful) or become the useful idiots for government’s top down overthrow of the nation.

Based on what I have seen in Raleigh, I doubt they will be part of the American Revolution being orchestrated in New York.

METRO ROLLS OUT BICYCLES AND BUS RACKS FOR 2012 HOUSTON BIKE TO WORK DAY

Patrons riding METRO on Friday, April 13, or any given day, may be sitting next to an undercover MPD officer.

The move to monitor and curtail crime on buses and trains is just one component of a much larger initiative called BusSafe – a national pilot program created by a peer advisory group of mass transit police chiefs and security directors, and one which METRO’s Police Department is adopting to enhance safety on the system.

MPD, Houston Police Department officers and Harris County Precinct 7 Deputy Constables will take part in a synchronized, counter-terrorism exercise on Friday, April 13, focusing on bus routes, bus stops and shelters, and Transit Centers in high traffic areas. The participating agencies will: ride buses, perform random bag checks, and conduct K-9 sweeps, as well as place uniformed and plainclothes officers at Transit Centers and rail platforms to detect, prevent and address latent criminal activity or behavior.
