What to Do in an Election Year When You Have No Foreign Policy?

A paper tiger. That is how Osama bin Laden characterized the United States after Mogadishu.  Whether the Obama administration will engage in a war throughout the Middle East is not the point of this article. The point is that Iran and Syria see his failed foreign policy as a sign of weakness. This will be an interesting week based on the situations unfolding in Syria, Iran and North Korea.

Syria launches its heaviest air-ground assault yet against the opposition

Certain he is safe from Western-Arab intervention, Bashar Assad Sunday unleashed an across-the board air and ground offensive against the last surviving rebel locations.  DEBKAfile’s military sources report that starting Sunday noon, April 8, 30 towns and villages were hit simultaneously. For the first time since the outbreak of revolt thirteen months ago, heavy long-range artillery and air force helicopters pounded the rebel positions remaining in the northern mountains of Idlib near the Turkish border. The scale of the onslaught was such that it is hard to come by casualty figures, but they certainly run into hundreds.
The mountains of ordnance and numbers of tanks and artillery the Syrian army is pouring into the embattled sectors attest to Assad’s determination to root out with no holds barred the last rebel and protester however long it takes.

America: A Government Out Of Control

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PQvGecMg6Q

Something odd and not quite as planned happened as America grew from its “City on a Hill” origins, on its way to becoming the world’s superpower: government grew. A lot. In fact, the government, which by definition does not create any wealth but merely reallocates it based on the whims of a select few, has transformed from a virtually invisible bystander in the economy, to the largest single employer, and a spending behemoth whose annual cash needs alone are nearly $4 trillion a year, and where tax revenues no longer cover even half the outflows. One can debate why this happened until one is blue in the face: the allures of encroaching central planning, the law of large numbers, and the corollary of corruption, inefficiency and greed, cheap credit, the transition to a welfare nanny state as America’s population grew older, sicker and lazier, you name it. The reality is that the reasons for government’s growth do not matter as much as realizing where we are, and deciding what has to be done: will America’s central planners be afforded ever more power to decide the fates of not only America’s population, but that of the world, or will the people reclaim the ideals that the founders of this once great country had when they set off on an experiment, which is now failing with every passing year?

US Drone Attack Kills 8 Civilians in Yemen

The Iranian viewpoint from Fars News Agengcy:

TEHRAN (FNA)- An air strike by a US Unmanned Aerial Vehicle killed 8 people in Eastern Yemen.

The victims were on board a vehicle on their way from the Eastern province of Shabwa to Marib when a US drone fired a missile targeting their vehicle, a report by AFP said.

The US military uses assassination drones in several Muslim countries, including Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan.

The drone strikes fuel widespread anti-American resentment.

A majority of these attacks have been carried out by CIA operatives and US Special Forces command, operating from a base in nearby Dijbouti.

What Will Obama Do for Israel?

The following article from Ben Stein offers an Iranian strategy for the United States concerning Israel based on what Richard Nixon would do. His opinion is based on his personal experience working for President Nixon and his actions as outlined in the article. I read this article and wondered what will president Obama do based on his record? After all, he has been in office for three years and has been engaged in military or kinetic actions in Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Libya, Uganda and Syria. Mr. Obama’s relationship with Mr. Netanyahu and Israel is tentative at best. Mr. Obama’s relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood and Islam is also well documented. Iran stands in the way of establishing the new Caliphate that the president is encouraging through his Muslim Brotherhood ties. His actions in Libya, Egypt and now Syria have shown his ideology in the Middle East.

What will Obama do for Israel? Anything that will help establish the new Caliphate. But he will never help Israel to help Israel itself or maintain good foreign relations with a country which was a strong ally.

What will Mitt Romney do based on his record? Mr. Romney has no record concerning military action but he does have a long, established history with Mr. Netanyahu: Continue reading

Love and the Marriage Amendment

The upcoming marriage amendment in North Carolina has been twisted into an issue between homosexuality and its place in a Christian nation.  The Bible clearly outlines in both the Old and the New Testament that homosexuality is a sin. Any church that preaches otherwise is not teaching the Word of God. A comment on an earlier article  used a fallacious argument concerning this issue stating that Jesus said to love one another. Although this is true, this is twisting the Word of God by not understanding the definition of love in different contexts. Part of this problem is due to translation from Hebrew, Greek, Latin into English and most recently, politically correct English. There are four different types of love in the Bible. Our English translations do not differentiate between the four types of love and our churches are at fault for not teaching what may be offensive to their parishioners.

My response to the comment concerning Jesus saying to love one another is shown here:

What is the judgment for those who twist the Word of God: Continue reading

Good News from Grass Roots North Carolina

Oak Ridge Town Council

Good news. The latest proposed ordinance designed to violate the spirit of the new law allowing concealed carry within parks has failed in a 3 to 2 vote. This one was in the town of Oak Ridge. Your voice was heard much to the chagrin of some of the council members who whined about receiving over one hundred emails on the subject. One lamented being “offended” by receiving so many “form” emails. We naturally look forward to offending anti-gun council members across this state – with your help — whenever this issue arises and for as long as it takes.

Congratulate yourself, but don’t rest too easy. This issue may not be totally put to bed in Oak Ridge. Several council members indicated that they had problems with the wording of the current ordinance, so it may well roll back around with different wording. We’ll keep you posted.

Secret Squirrel: A Message From The Georgia PATCON Human Resources Department‏

From Western Rifle Shooters Association

Over the weekend of 31 Mar to 1 Apr 2012, the Georgia Patcon discussed many ways to begin shaping the real world (meatspace) to align with the goals of the liberty movement, including ways to support that meatspace shaping using Internet resources (cyberspace). Overall, we agreed that getting out into the real world across a wide swath of liberty-oriented and preparedness interest groups and being effective there is much more useful than staying online, and brainstormed through the details of how to increase that effectiveness. Please be patient with us as we get this information in a more usable form. Some initiatives are already taking public form and this will continue over time.

Also, it is important to note that, while the way we are handling some of this may smack of Secret Squirrelry right now, some of this is by design and serves a larger purpose. Let us explain as best we can right now:

1. We assume that everything we say in person or on the Internet or by email is subject to monitoring. So, OpFor already knows what we are up to. That is not the reason we are keeping some of this under wraps. Continue reading

DEBKA Exclusive: What were the six points Obama sent Khamenei through Erdogan?

From DEBKAfile.com:

After a two-hour, 15-minute conversation with US President Barack Obama in Seoul on March 25, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan undertook to fly to Tehran and personally hand Obama’s six-point message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The note, which laid out the American position for the nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers that were scheduled to open in Istanbul on April 13, was delivered on March 29.

DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources report that the exercise was not a success.
The Iranian leader has not replied to the US president’s communication up until the present. Instead, in the past week, Tehran has turned its guns on Prime Minister Erdogan and refused to accept Turkey as venue for the nuclear talks.
Washington has explained this setback by a controversy among heads of the regime in Tehran over the US President’s six points. Our Iranian sources strongly doubt this since, quite simply, the Islamic regime is a one-man show. Khamenei makes the decisions and he has clearly decided not to send a reply.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly 535 of March 29 was the first world publication to reveal the content of Obama’s six-point message to Khamenei.
That is now revealed here for the benefit of DEBKAfile’s readers: Continue reading

Van Jones: Rebuild the Communist Dream

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

Van Jones is launching a Spring offensive war on “corporate power, Wall Street greed and the political corruption of the 1 percent”. Once you register to his Rebuild the Dream website, you can select articles to read or videos to watch (click here). This self-proclaimed Communist has no problem promoting his revolution with the help of Communists as the top four videos are from Russia Today. Here is the first one:

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nrWRu_t7AQ

We saw this “czar” forced from his Green Jobs position (how did that idea work out for America) by Glenn Beck. He then went directly to work for the Soros machine. America will be seeing (and suffering) the fruits of their labor shortly.

I want to restore the American Dream based on negative liberties, personal responsibilities and freedom. We know what Van Jones’ concept of rebuilding will become: a Communist dream where our founding principles will be reviled. If Van Jones’ movement succeeds, Michelle Obama will have correctly foreshadowed our future: “Barack will rewrite our history”.

I think it will be harder to rewrite life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness than they are hoping it will be.

Obama better prepare, when I’m Commissioner.
I’d have a road show like [Acting Regional GSA Administrator for Region Jeffrey] Neely, every time you see me rolling on 20s yeah, in my GOV.
Spend BA 61 on all fun.
ATF can’t touch GS-15 guns!
Cause I buy everything your field office can’t afford.
Every GS-5 would get a top hat award.
Donate my vacation, love to the nation,
I’ll never be under OIG investigation.

Now I Know Why He Is the “Former” Head of Mossad

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCL7x6LJmsc

I am not advocating that Israel attack Iran. I am advocating that Israel should not rely on Obama for their future security. A president who is not trusted by his own people cannot be trusted by Israel. The quote starts at 6:15 minutes in the video.

David DeGerolamo

Israel should trust Obama to stop Iran nukes

Israel should trust US President Barack Obama when he says that he will not let Iran build a nuclear weapon, former Mossad head Meir Dagan told The Jerusalem Post this week.

“If the US president says that he is not going to allow Iran to reach nuclear capability, if we are not going to trust him, then who are we going to trust?” Dagan said.

The unemployment rate drops to 8.2% for one simple reason: the government lies

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

Truth vs. Propaganda. The media is trumpeting another fall in unemployment today as the number of jobs created was only 60% of the expected 203,000. If the expectations had been met, unemployment would have stayed level at 8.3%. The media ignores this reality and glorifies this as good news since unemployment fell to 8.2%. Really? Removing people from the workforce denominator to counteract the numerator will produce a lower unemployment rate that will actually be believed by educated Americans? The answer is yes: if it worked in the past, it will continue to work in the future.

An analysis from Zerohedge.com puts this into perspective:

March NFP [non-farm payroll] big miss at just 120K. Unemployment rate declines from 8.3% to 8.2%. Futures slide, for at least a few minutes before the NEW QE TM rumor starts spreading. The household survey actually posted a decline in March from 142,065 to 142,034. And as always, as we predicted when Goldman hiked its NFP forecast yesterday from 175K to 200K saying “if Goldman’s recent predictive track record is any indication, tomorrow’s NFP will be a disaster”, Goldie once again skewers everyone. Finally, Joe LaVorgna’s +250,000 forecast was just 100% off… as usual.

But this is only part of the story. The government has “seasonally adjusted” the jobs report due to winter. The bombshell is about to hit: Continue reading

Egan Jones Downgrades USA From AA+ To AA, Outlook Negative

The following article from Zerohedge.com foreshadows the Federal Reserve’s worst nightmare. As our credit rating declines, our interest payment on debt increases due to the risk of default. The solution is the same for Ben Bernanke for every problem: tell the Treasury to print more money. At issue is the worldwide pressure to replace the USD with a basket of currencies and commodities. Once this is done, the printing presses at the Treasury will be shut down. Standard & Poor’s credit rating downgrade should be next.
