Here are the speeches after the Syrian Resolution veto in the United Nations from “the other side”. I know that we are not told what is happening behind the wizard’s curtain but the argument for the sovereignty of a country has merit. The Obama administration’s right to protect is not part of our country’s founding principles, Constitution or Monroe Doctrine in this case.

So let’s play the Ron Paul game by switching the scenario to our country.

Assad sends hit squads after top Lebanese officials 

Syrian President Bashar Assad has hired hit squads to kill top Lebanese government, intelligence and security officials whom he suspects of helping insurrectionists and Saudi and Qatari agents smuggle fighters and weapons into the country to fight his regime. One Lebanese hit squad is reported by DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources as having been captured in the third week of January by Lebanese security police. Its members confessed to receiving, cash, arms, explosives and a list of targets from Syrian Military intelligence, with precise instructions on the method of assassination for two targets, Director General of Lebanese Internal Security Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi and his deputy, Col. Wissam al-Hassan, head of its Information Branch.

The team was instructed to rig two bomb cars, each loaded with one ton of explosives to be detonated remotely. They were told which cars would be driving by different routes to a secret meeting of all Lebanese intelligence arms at Internal Security headquarters in the Christian Ashrafieh district of Beirut. Two narrow side streets would bring them close to their destination and it was there that the bomb cars would be planted.

The Commissioners want you 

defenseless in parks…  

They have already drafted an ordinance that clearly violates state law. Their ordinance employs the now typical dishonest strategy embraced by several other anti-gun municipalities. This strategy involves tortuously redefining broad park areas to fit within narrow exclusions tacked onto the new “Castle Doctrine/Concealed Carry Permitted in Parks” law. As a result greenways, hiking trails and entire parks are slated for impermissible gun bans.

While Orange County Commissioners believe themselves to be above state law, they will happily subject you to the wrath of their municipal ordinance if you dare lawfully defend yourself and your family within their parks; including a $500 fine, six months incarceration, and permanent loss of your Constitutional RIGHT to bear arms.

GRNC Alert: Parks Carry – Ashe County Meeting Monday, Feb, 6, 2012

Ashe County will take up the issue of whether to attempt to circumvent the spirit of the new law permitting Concealed Carry in public parks like so many other local governments have sinceHB 650 (Castle Doctrine and Parks Carry) passed into law. Under this new law a narrow scope of tightly defined spaces may be posted and several municipalities have attempted to broadly define entire parks as prohibited. Others have simply posted the sections they are allowed to under the law. Of course even this circumvents the true spirit of the law, designed to allow self protection. This law also recognizes that there is a reason that park areas are among the few spaces in the state where violent crime has increased rather then been reduced since the NC concealed carry law went into effect 16 years ago.

February 4th, 2012 was the Day of Mass Action. Although the media did not believe this worldwide protest to be newsworthy, should we be paying attention? Five hundred people marched in New York City to support Iran:

Hundreds of protesters demonstrated in New York on Saturday and pacifist groups took to the streets in dozens of other US and Canadian cities in a “Day of Mass Action” against a possible war with Iran.

About 500 protesters gathered in Manhattan’s Times Square and marched to the headquarters of the US mission to the United Nations and to the Israeli consulate.

Hezbollah will attack Israel if the “Western powers intervene in Syrian affairs”. Another surprise from Hezbollah which is infiltrating the United States through our southern borders in conjunction with Mexican drug cartels. They are also infiltrating (or organizing) the Occupy Wall Street movement. We can take a leap of faith and say that Hezbollah will assert the same conditions if the West attacks Iran since Ahmadinejad is their major source of funding.  How will Hezbollah support Iran and Russia in the upcoming war? With their 30,000 plus missiles aimed at Israel.

Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize to Be Revoked?

So the Nobel officials are realizing what the rest of the world knew already.

Nobel peace prize jury under investigation

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) — Nobel Peace Prize officials were facing a formal inquiry over accusations they have drifted away from the prize’s original selection criteria by choosing such winners as President Barack Obama, as the nomination deadline for the 2012 awards closed Wednesday.

The investigation comes after persistent complaints by a Norwegian peace researcher that the original purpose of the prize was to diminish the role of military power in international relations.

If the Stockholm County Administrative Board, which supervises foundations in Sweden’s capital, finds that prize founder Alfred Nobel’s will is not being honored, it has the authority to suspend award decisions going back three years — though that would be unlikely and unprecedented, said Mikael Wiman, a legal expert working for the county.

Obama won in 2009, Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo won in 2010, and last year the award was split between Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberian activist Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman of Yemen.

For this year’s award, Russian human rights activist Svetlana Gannushkina, jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Cuban rights activists Oswaldo Paya and Yoani Sanchez are among the candidates who have been publicly announced by those who nominated them.

Do you persist in your belief that a Republican president can “fix things” ?

“The flaw in the republic is that it appears to draw upon the populace for representatives to act in congress on the wishes of the people. That cannot happen. Once sworn in, each representative becomes the government and immediately finds themselves at odds with the liberty seeking populace. Therefore, we cannot solve our problems through political means.

“We see now, after a few hundred years, that what was designed could not be fulfilled. The promises made by the Constitution cannot rise to fruition amid the daily function of government. The answer, then, is to create and populate a permanent resistance to government, not as a means to an end, but as an end in itself.”

Nomadic Occupy in Carrboro

Protesters take over future site of Carrboro CVS

Carrboro CommuneCARRBORO, N.C. — A protest group calling itself Carrboro Commune took over a vacant downtown building Saturday that they hoped would become a community center, but was recently purchased by the CVS Corporation.

Interim town manager Matt Efird said the people who broke in are related to the “Nomadic Occupy” movement, a local off-shoot of Occupy Wall Street. Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton went to the site and asked the trespassers, who had built a table and were carrying in containers of food, to leave peacefully.

“You have the opportunity to leave without getting arrested. You can leave now,” Chilton told more than a dozen protesters.

“Why should we?” one of them shouted.

“You don’t have to,” Chilton said. “You can get arrested if you prefer.”

The Beginnings of the American Spring?

The Occupy Wall Street movement is starting to launch their American Spring campaign. Although violence has not been sanctioned, we see it erupting in Oakland and now Austin, TX.

The “camps” where arrests have been made is increasing on a daily basis including Charlotte:

On Monday, about 60 officers were observed working to remove tents from the old City Hall lawn while enforcing Charlotte’s new ordinance banning camping on city property. Seven people were arrested. Police estimated that day’s labor costs at $18,000.

The cost to Charlotte for their occupation is almost $450,000. They can be assured that this cost will rise as the president may support the occupation, he will not support them ruining his party at the Democrat convention.

Iran: Nuclear Program, Oil and Cruise Missiles

The two stories below could be seen as political posturing by Iran. Or they could be seen as showing the United States and Europe that sanctions will have no impact on Iran’s nuclear program. I believe the latter case to be true since Obama does not have any credibility for leading any effort to deter Iran’s caliphate plans. In fact, his support for the Arab Spring is more likely to be seen as making the next caliphate a reality.

Oil Ban Will Not Halt Nuclear Drive 

Brent crude prices rose to near three-month peaks on Friday, partly thanks to oil investors covering short positions ahead of the weekend due to the standoff between the West and Tehran over its nuclear program.

The United States wants buyers in Asia, Iran’s biggest oil market, to cut imports to put further pressure on Tehran, which is after finding new buyers and persuading existing customers to keep doing business with it.

But Iran remains a key supplier for many countries, and some of its major customers are seeking waivers from Washington from the sanctions while they look for alternative sources of oil. Iranian officials have said sanctions have had no impact on it, while Tehran threatened to retaliate against the West for sanctions. Qassemi also downplayed the importance of Europe as a market for its exports. “We have no problem to find other crude buyers to replace the European countries,” he was quoted as saying.

The Battle Lines Are Being Drawn

Russia and China have both vetoed the UN council resolution for Syrian president Assad to step down. Watching the speeches at the post–mortem shows the battle lines being drawn in the upcoming war. Although China voted against the resolution, this does not mean that they will be against the United States in the war: China is always looking out for China. The Chinese will play both sides as long as it is profitable and in their own interests. India is also playing the middle ground as they do not want to jeopardize their oil for gold from Iran.

Russia will support the Assad regime to maintain their naval base in Tartus. Ambassador Rice (can someone please give her speech and reading lessons?) presents the same “right to protect” argument used in Libya. I wonder if we will see Hillary cackling with delight about the death of Assad in the future.
