Today is “Constitution Day”.

You will find an enthusiastic reminder on just about every conservative web site.

A great example is “’The Ultimate Authority … Resides in the People Alone’: The People and the Constitution” by Terrence Moore (published on BigGovernment).

I have few issues with our Constitution as ratified. My concerns relate to the plethora of changes and false interpretations that have accumulated over the last 224 years.

Secretary Napolitano Announces the Launch of “Study in the States”

The following press release outlines a “new initiative” to make it easier for foreign students to study and then stay in the United States.

 

Why is the Department of Homeland Security involved in this effort? The answer can be traced back to the Patriot Act as outlined in the excerpt below:

Following the attacks, the Department of Homeland Security created the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, or SEVIS, a Web-accessible database that monitors information regarding international students, scholars and others who enter the county bearing certain types of visas.

Created as part of the Patriot Act, and managed by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program, or SEVP, all U.S. schools and programs hosting international students or scholars had to start using the system by Jan. 30, 2003.

Why the Political and Moral Arguments of NAACP of North Carolina and Opponents of the Marriage Amendment Lacks Consistency

In an Open Letter to North Carolinians, Dr. William Barber, President of the North Carolina Chapter of the NAACP, made statements and accusations concerning the Marriage Amendment that are inaccurate and I would like to clear up a few things. On September 12th there was a pro-marriage amendment rally themed, “Let the People Vote” and in attendance were Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Republicans and Democrats. There was nothing right-wing or political about it. It was an appeal to our elected officials to allow the 6 million registered voters decide to amend the state constitution or not. Opponents tried everything under the sun to stop this vote from taking place, to no avail. They even contacted Dr. Barber to issue a response after a press conference held by several Pastors and myself. A press conference that he was not aware of until a representative from Equality NC gave him a call.

Opponents to the Marriage Amendment call it restrictive. Supporters call it protective. We support the protection of the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman as God intended. We want to protect traditional marriage from an activist judge that can and will overturn the current law similar to what happened in California and Iowa.

Opponents to this piece of legislation say the government should not get involved with moral issues. This is laughable because they already are. In 1996, Democrats and Republicans, including Governor Beverly Purdue and former Speaker of the House Joe Hackney, voted to make marriage between a man and a woman the only lawful marriage to be recognized in North Carolina. In other words, they outlawed gay marriage. For a couple to marry, they have to pay the local government to obtain a marriage license. If a married couple decides to divorce, guidelines established by the government have to be followed in regards to alimony and divorce, a bill which Speaker Hackney sponsored. During the 2003-2004 legislative session, 10 Democrats were either primary sponsors or co-sponsors of this amendment. Oddly enough, Dr. Barber continues to point the finger at Republicans.

Peter Schiff, whose most recent book is How and Economy Grows and Why it Crashes, says that the economic downturn of 2008 is only a mild preview of what’s in store for the U.S. economy in the future and predicts much higher unemployment and huge inflation over the next few years. The only way out of this mess, says Schiff, is for the government to get out of the way and let the inevitable market correction occur.

This Time It’s Different

Benjamin Franklin was asked what kind of government the fledging country would become after the Articles of Confederation were replaced. He replied “A republic, if you can keep it”. Are we now repeating history? Timothy Geithner is in Poland at the behest of the Federal Reserve transferring our wealth to Europe without any input or approval from the people or Congress:

RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) – There were powerful emotions and strong words at a city council meeting in Ruidoso, New Mexico Tuesday tonight.

Gun owners from down the road and from around the country, packed council chambers to give the mayor an earful about his executive order banning guns from village government buildings and meetings.

They ignored the ban to prove their point. Guns were very visible but the only shots fired were verbal and they were directed at the mayor.

“You are just as a much a tyrant for requiring someone to surrender their civil rights to carry a firearm in order to participate in their government as you are in asking them to surrender their right to vote or anything else,” Bob Wright said.

Day of Rage – Occupy Wall Street

Saturday, September 17th is the peaceful Day of Rage. If what we are already seeing in San Francisco’s Bay of Rage, it will not be peaceful. On a previous article outlining these events (Rules for Radicals – Day of Rage Style) on August 6th, the administrator for their website added a comment concerning their peaceful actions. Since he has removed his comment, we will have to see tomorrow if their “original intent” has been changed.

The following article from World Net Daily gives a good summation of the events. Although a moral and virtuous people never advocate violence to achieve goals, the Day of Rage may wake up America to the reality that we are facing economically and politically.

Another Savior from Chicago

Christine Lagarde became the president of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after a scandal by Dominique Strauss-Kahn forced him to resign this past Summer. She had been employed by the Chicago law firm of Baker & McKenzie and became the company’s first female chairman. Ms. Lagarde became friends with Bernadine Dohrn who is the wife of US terrorist Bill Ayres.

The IMF (a division of the Federal Reserve) will be deeply involved in the redistribution of US dollars throughout the European Union at the behest of the Obama adminstration and Mr. Bernanke.

So Why Did the Market Go Up?

The following news was released prior to the opening bell of the stock market today. Although any one of these should reports have sent the stock market spiralling down, the market had another rally and closed up for the fourth consecutive day of trading. The previous “rallies” were due to the rumors of a Chinese bailout of the European Union. Even though these rumours proved to be false, the latest redistribution of the producers in America  to Europe resulted in a rise of 186 points on the NYSE. At least the redistribution of our wealth has gone global. Happy days are here again. 

Unemployment Claims in U.S. Unexpectedly Rise to Highest Level Since June

Applications for U.S. unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week to the highest level since the end of June, underscoring the risk of further weakness in the labor market.

Jobless claims climbed by 11,000 to 428,000 in the week ended Sept. 10 that included the Labor Day holiday, figures from the Labor Department showed today in Washington. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg News projected a drop in claims to 411,000, according to the median forecast.

European TARP Financed by the Federal Reserve

Peter Orszag, a vice chairman at Citigroup made the following statement today:

It is very strongly in our interests, and by that I mean U.S. interests, to avoid having Europe, in particular its banking system, collapse, especially when the U.S. economy is right at stall speed.

And this is how the justification will begin concerning the Federal Reserve’s commitment to bail out the European Union. At what point do we allow a privately held bank to control the money supply and policy of the United States in clear violation of the original intent of the Constitution?

Wilkes County Superior Court Orders Prosecution to Produce More Constitutional Evidence

September 13, 2011 was the second day of a two week Wilkes County Superior Court session. NCAR citizen Mandie Rose had previously been advised by NC Assistant District Attorney Fred Bauer that she should be in court at 9:00 AM and that her case would be heard at that time. At 8:45 AM Cliff and Sara Muncy, Jill Ainsworth, and Mandie along with her husband Bobby arrived at the court house. At 4:04 PM, with only three others remaining in the court room, Mandie was finally called. Judge Lindsey Davis presiding stated that the burden of proof was on the state and listened while the ADA made a very valiant attempt at arguing subject matter jurisdiction.

The opinion of most everyone in the NCAR group was that the judge remained impartial, and took the matter quite seriously. In Mandie’s statement and rebuttal she pointed out the fact that the ADA was addressing subject matter jurisdiction, where the matter at hand was challenging their lawful claim to jurisdiction over the soil. Judge Davis required that the state produce more detailed evidence to support the jurisdictional claim within 14 days, and that the state was to provide said evidence to Ms. Rose prior to the next court date so that she may have ample time to review and prepare her argument. The ADA intends to have his evidence and bring forth his argument on Monday, September 19, 2011. With the Superior Court session only lasting through next week, he seems to want to get this out of the way so that it doesn’t carry over into the next session in November.

Over the course of the next few days, we will be making solid efforts to obtain the transcript from yesterday’s hearing as quickly as possible, and Mandie will be working closely with the NCAR Legal Team on strategy and preparation of upcoming arguments. As always, we will keep you apprised of how these events unfold, and we will let you know once the next hearing date has been scheduled. Also we will be posting the details of the transcript here on our website as soon as it becomes available, so keep an eye out.

Global Warming Pandering Causes Nobel Prize Winner to Resign in Disgust

Dr. Ivar Gaiever has resigned from the American Physical Society in disgust over their “promotion of man-made global warming fears”. Dr. Gaiever won the Nobel prize for physics in 1973 and had endorsed the president’s campaign in 2008.

Will Dr. Gaiever’s resignation have an impact on the global warming fanatics in the media and the government? Just ask John Huntsman who is running for the Republican nomination for president. Pandering to bad science in order to glean money for political projects has become the left’s mantra. Imagine how fast this farce would exposed if these “scientists” were prosecuted for publishing fraudulent data?

But then that would also impact the power structure that passes for our government in Washington. As the green revolution continues to unravel across the world, let’s hope that more respectable scientists stand up. If enough stand up for the truth, it is possible that the media may report it.

The Final Straw for the US Dollar

The Federal Reserve has committed to another bailout today. No Congressional approval was asked for or needed. The recipients of this bailout are not the labor unions, community organizational groups or Democrat contributors. This time the recipient is the European Union.

The producers in the United States can now add the dubious honor of bailing out the irresponsible Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Irish and Icelandic people who have placed irresponsible fiscal spending and social programs above their children’s future. The consequences of this action are clear: the European Union will not be saved and the inevitable collapse will be postponed. The Chinese bailout that was widely promoted as saving the EU earlier this week turned out to be another bad rumor in a long series of misinformation concerning the economic health of the EU.
