US Constitution, Amendment #4

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Does the statement above seem consistent with this court action?

INDIANAPOLIS | Overturning a common law dating back to the English Magna Carta of 1215, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Hoosiers have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes.

In a 3-2 decision, Justice Steven David writing for the court said if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner cannot do anything to block the officer’s entry.

“We believe … a right to resist an unlawful police entry into a home is against public policy and is incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence,” David said. “We also find that allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level of violence and therefore the risk of injuries to all parties involved without preventing the arrest.”

Story: No Right To Resist 

For the record, the opinion of that court is not consistent with the 4th Amendment as understood and practiced at this home.

Step Up or Stand Up?

Obama challenged businesses to “step up” and hire people to speed up the economic recovery. Here is another course of action:

  • Let the free market loose by getting the government out of our way. No Healthcare, Cap & Trade and enforcement of federal immigration laws.
  • No more Quantitative Easing (stimulus) by the Federal Reserve.
  • Cap the Budget Deficit Ceiling now.
  • Enforce existing laws: The Department of Injustice under Eric Holder does not instill confidence in the justice system. No justice = no faith in the country’s future.
  • No more government control of the stock market by POMO.
  • Develop and implement an energy policy or get out of the way. The government’s stranglehold on energy production and exploration is killing jobs and the economy. It is also making America lose faith in the future through high energy costs.

As a small business owner who manages his own bookkeeping, I know how much of my business goes directly to federal, state and local taxes. I also know that this money is wasted. When businessmen work for the government instead of themselves, there is no incentive to make more money.

The Dead Cat Bounce by the US Dollar

This is a classic dead cat bounce by the US Dollar as it appears to fight desperately to avoid dropping below the much watched ‘72 level. We say fight, but the real situation is not a fight at all, it’s a managed decline by the United States to lower the value of their currency and ultimately inflate away the mountain of debt that it realizes is impossible to ever re-pay.

The difficulty in getting the value down is that just about all of the other major currencies are in the same race and are also hoping to inflate away their debts. The penetration of ‘72 lies just ahead of us and once a meaningful break through has been achieved, then the fall will be calamitous to say the least, as those who are holding dollars will battle to get through the exit with great haste. However, the ‘managed’ downward trend will resume shortly. Also of note on the chart above is that after only two days of trading, the dollar rose from an oversold position, where the RSI was sitting at sub ‘30 just days ago, to stand at 52.18 today. In our humble opinion those who are calling for a dollar bounce of some significance and going to be rather disappointed. The political will to do the hard yards is just nowhere in sight as the pressure mounts to raise the debt ceiling a tad in order to keep things sweet.

Shame on Colorado

Colorado was recognized as one of five states that were bellwether states in the book “Megatrends”. However Colorado’s days as a state that led the nation in future trends are over.  A state which has incredible beauty but only a few remaining pockets of principled people has been overthrown by socialism and voter fraud. The election of Sen. Michael Bennet is just one of many cases where the people in Colorado should hold their heads in shame. His support for the public option using reconciliation is now overshadowed by his proud support for the DREAM Act as shown below.

However this report just released in April 2011 explains how Sen. Bennet was able to get into office:

Why do WE still obey the laws ?

Seems pretty clear that “US Law” is about creation of impediments against individuals and obstacles to business (ref David’s post) …

Yet the general government acts in violation of the US Law:

“WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- The Treasury Department auctioned $56 billion in new debt Tuesday and Wednesday, enough to take the U.S. over its federal debt ceiling when the three- and 10-year notes settle on Monday.” … Source

So when do we say “enough” ?  We are surrounded and intimidated, pressed for surrender by Washington DC, much as the US Army was surrounded and threatened in the town of Bastogne during WWII.

Victory Through Resistance – One Year Later

I received a notice from the Internal Revenue Service in May 2010 that I owed over $2000 in back taxes from 2008. This notice was somewhat surprising since although I have no illusions that my tribute to the government is mainly wasted, I “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s”. The notice outlined the money and penalty and I quickly saw that a missing 1099R from the taxes filed would solve this issue.

Or so I thought. I sent the 1099R to the IRS with a short explanation, waited a short time to ensure that they received it, then called to make sure that the matter would be closed. The IRS employee had one response: you must pay the taxes. The intent of this employee was not to close the case but to make me lose composure on a recorded line. Once I realized this, the call was ended and another letter was sent for their files. I found that this was the typical tactic used on three subsequent contacts.

Obama Enters Campaign Mode

The following video shows Obama criticizing the Republican party in a speech concerning border security. Using the office of the President to advance a political campaign by stating that the GOP wants a moat and alligators for security at the southern border only shows a level of immaturity instead of leadership.

As our nation deals with high unemployment, the crippling prices of gasoline and food, flooding in the Midwest as well as wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, I am not too concerned about an election that is 18 months away.

Three Million Acres May Be Flooded in Louisiana

We are starting to feel the impact of the Mississippi flooding as some refineries are reducing capacity. As the following story details, gasoline has risen 9.3% at the wholesale level in the past two days. If three million acres are flooded in Louisiana, the cost of gasoline will reach $5.00 per gallon by Memorial Day. We will see what the government’s contingency plans are when their gasoline tax revenues are curtailed as we cannot afford to drive.

Three million acres, an area almost the size of Connecticut, may go under water as the Mississippi River flooding moves south and threatens Louisiana.

“Based on inundation maps we are looking at, about 3 million acres in Louisiana will be under water,” Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said at a press conference in Baton Rouge. About 2,500 people inside the floodway may be affected and 22,500 may be affected by backwater flooding, he said.

Satellite Pictures of the Mississippi Flood – May 9th

The following satellite pictures of the Mississippi River were taken by NASA one year apart. Flooding just south of Cairo is over 40 kilometers wide. The river should crest in Memphis tonight but New Orleans and Baton Rouge are preparing for flooding that will impact two refineries and probably eliminate any corn harvests this year there.

The Real Issue of Voter ID Legislation

We hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created equal.

These words from the Declaration of Independence form the basis of our representative republic. If I was to say today that only some people should be allowed to vote in our elections based on some criterion, I would be censored. The law of one vote for one man or woman is the centerpiece of the electoral process for the country.

The argument we face today is simple: we want voter ID to stop voter fraud. Whenever someone votes more than one time or is not qualified to vote, our legal vote is diluted or nullified. The Republican party gave us a 100 day pledge last year to the people of North Carolina to pass Voter ID legislation. The 100th day was May 6th, 2011.
The protests against secure voting in our state are being led by people who want to gain and hold power at any cost.

This is even worse when the other forty-nine take away the rights of the fifty-one through voter fraud: This is what today’s Democracy looks like.

Remember the 100 Day Republican Pledge?

The Republican Party made a 100 day pledge to the people of North Carolina on September 2, 2010. The 100 days ended on May 6, 2011. Some people are now saying that they meant 100 legislative days instead of calendar days since the record speaks for itself. The people of North Carolina stood up and did their part and now it is time to hold them accountable for their inaction. I put my comments in red after each point.

US Dollar Index to Strengthen

The US dollar index will add to its recent gains on Monday due to the devaluation of the Euro based on an anticipated sell-off as soon as the markets open. Germany, France and Italy are holding meetings with Greece to resolve the collapse and subsequent bailout of this country. Greece is rumored to be leaving the European Union but they have denied leaving the EU and also the re-institution of the former Greek currency, the drachma.
Although the US dollar will strengthen on this news, there is no actual increase in the value of our currency. As always, check your assumptions and facts:
