The Modernize NC Emergency Management Act was discussed in House Judiciary Subcommittee A on May 18th. This legislation was developed as a consequence of the abuse of power by the local government in King, NC in February, 2010 as outlined in the following video and too broad of an interpretation in the existing legislation. Chairman Blust’s prefacing comments concerning protecting the legislators from radicals in attendance was hopefully made in jest but I hope that these videos detailing committee hearings is starting to have an impact.

Who Is Really Abusing Power?

During discussion of HB 687 at the Judiciary Subcommittee A meeting on May 18th, Rep. Brawley is asked why a revision to the legislation was made by Deborah Ross. His answer in the following video shows us how much influence the bar association has in the general assembly.

Short Description of HB 687

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN CITIES AND COUNTIES ENACT ORDINANCES OR TAKE ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS FOR WHICH THERE IS NO STATUTORY AUTHORITY, AND THE ORDINANCE OR ACTION IS AN ABUSE OF AUTHORITY, THE PLAINTIFF MAY RECOVER ATTORNEY FEES.

It appears that the intent of this legislation is not so much to protect us from government but allow attorneys to make more money.

And It Is Not Even Completely Funded

The Nature Research Center in Raleigh (across the street from the General Assembly) is shown below as of May 18, 2011. The estimated cost of this project is $56 million but only $10 million is funded by the state.  Although the sign for this project states an opening date of Fall 2011, the excerpt in the following article is optimistic that the remaining funds will be donated in time for a Spring 2012 opening.

The director of exhibits is Roy Campbell who states:

“We’re very optimistic about it. When people understand that the purpose of the project is increasing science literacy, they understand. Even in these times, they know it’s the right thing to do.”

Get Your Mug Today

Last year, the President said, “I can’t spend all of my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead.”

This is about as close as we can get.

If the facts can’t make these ridiculous smears go away, we can at least have a little fun with it.

And then we’ll get back to the important work of supporting the President as he tackles real problems like high gas prices, the deficit, and unemployment.

Whose Money Is It?

In another example where the Federal government believes that individual assets are their property, a bill to limit access to 401(K) retirement accounts will be introduced today. Our founding fathers knew that the right to have secure personal property was the key to the success of our country. Without this guarantee, we are only serving a dictatorship who steals the fruits of our labor. Whether this tyranny is based in England or in Washington, DC, the results are the same.

What a STRANGE Celebration !

NC Capitol, 21 May 2011

We should gather at the Capitol for a re-enactment of the secession of the Republic of North Carolina from the voluntary association previously known as the “more perfect Union”.

The sponsor of the event, North Carolina State Capitol Foundation, has an interesting tag-line: “Celebrating Our Past, Inspiring our Future”.

Note the choice of words … celebrate … inspire.

This will be a celebration…

What, if I may enquire, will we celebrate? Do we honor an act of defiance to preserve the sovereignty of the body politic in NC? Do we honor the conviction of freemen who would no longer tolerate encroachment in their affairs by national government?

Ann Barnhardt: The Boston Speech.

Hello, my name is Ann Barnhardt and I am the person who says the things that everyone else is too terrified to say.

This is the speech that I was going to deliver in Boston today, May 15, 2011 had a facility been available to me. Unfortunately, no facilities were willing to host my speech, sponsored by Rabbi Jon Hausmann, because I was deemed to be “hateful”, “bigoted” and “potentially violent”. Well, we’ll see about that.

In this speech we are going to cover a lot of intellectual and theological ground. I tend to set my goals extremely high, and this speech is no exception.

I hope to fully explain the relationship between Christians and Jews in today’s world, and show that we, and really all people of civilization and good will, are allied in a war of survival against satanic evil, manifested today by islam and Marxism.

I am also going to show how our fundamental human rights as codified in the Constitution of the United States flow directly out of the Judeo-Christian milieu and the Bible.

If the United States Was Part of the European Union

The countries which form the European Union have signed the Stability and Growth Pact (SGP) developed by the European Council at the Dublin Summit in December 1996. This agreement outlines the requirements for fiscal budgets. One of the requirements is based on the percentage of national debt versus the country’s gross domestic product (GDP): it must be under a 60% GDP/debt ratio. As shown below, the PIIGS of the EU are not meeting these requirements.

The United States has a GDP/debt ratio of 97.78% as of May 17, 2011. This would put the US right behind Portugal in the EU. Portugal received another bailout today from the European Union to stave off bankruptcy. The policy in the United States is similar: we are bankrupt and the Federal Reserve directs the Treasury to bail us out by printing more money.

Morganza Spillway Satellite Images – May 17th

The top NASA satellite image of the Morganza Spillway is three days old. No new satellite images are released to show the current conditions of the flooding. Four floodgates are now open and more than 100,000 cubic feet of water per second is being released. Fifteen miles of the Mississippi River at Natchez is closed costing the US economy $300 million each day. The cost to the economy and the loss of agricultural products will impact our country now and through Fall.

The 4th amendment:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Now the Supreme Court has ruled that search warrants are not necessary under certain conditions:

3rd World Police State … continued

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects…”

… is no longer a concern of the judiciary or the police.

Last Friday we chatted theoretically about the recent decision of the Indiana courts to enable felons police state-sponsored-thugs to violate the sanctity of your home and person.

Today we get a peek into how that ruling will be implemented in practice:

“CROWN POINT, Ind. – According to Newton County Sheriff, Don Hartman Sr., random house to house searches are now possible and could be helpful following the Barnes v. STATE of INDIANA Supreme Court ruling issued on May 12th, 2011. When asked three separate times due to the astounding callousness as it relates to trampling the inherent natural rights of Americans, he emphatically indicated that he would use random house to house checks, adding he felt people will welcome random searches if it means capturing a criminal.”

Newt Gingrich Endorses Socialized Medicine

Anyone who would snuggle on a couch with Nancy Pelosi to promote the global warming hoax is either a moron or an authoritarian statist. Newt Gingrich confirms that he is the latter:

Newt Gingrich’s appearance on “Meet the Press” [yesterday] could leave some wondering which party’s nomination he is running for. The former speaker had some harsh words for Paul Ryan’s (and by extension, nearly every House Republican’s) plan to reform Medicare, calling it “radical.”

“I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering,” he said when asked about Ryan’s plan to transition to a “premium support” model for Medicare. “I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.”

As far as an alternative, Gingrich trotted out the same appeal employed by Obama/Reid/Pelosi — for a “national conversation” on how to “improve” Medicare, and promised to eliminate ‘waste, fraud and abuse,’ etc.

Not helpful, Newt — unless you’re running as John McLame II, and your purpose is to be a stooge to facilitate Obama’s reelection.

Resistance Starts Now

The federal debt ceiling limit was reached today, May 16, 2011. Mr. Geithner has put in a place a plan to raid the pension of federal employees to cover the shortfall.

Geithner, who has already suspended a program that helps state and local government manage their finances, will begin to borrow from retirement funds for federal workers. The measure won’t have an impact on retirees because the Treasury is legally required to reimburse the program.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul again is not the solution. The majority of the people in our country are sentient enough to understand that line must be drawn NOW. But that is not enough. We must contact our US Representatives and let them know in no uncertain terms that they MUST not vote to extend the debt ceiling again. The dire warnings of the consequences if we do not extend the debt ceiling may be absolutely true but we have to accept this fact and face the future. Does anyone believe that spending more money will avoid bankruptcy besides Joe Biden?

Runaway Train Wreck – House Judiciary Subcommittee A

House Judiciary Subcommittee A is a prime example of why the people of North Carolina are not effectively represented by our state government. The people elect the members of the General Assembly to represent us in a republican form of state government. Our representatives and senators cannot pass legislation that is buried in committee, effectively circumventing a vote on the floor. I have documented how this particular subcommittee is holding several key pieces of legislation hostage.
