Republican Mike Gallagher to leave US House in April
Republican U.S. Representative Mike Gallagher will step down from Congress on April 19. his office said on Friday, a move that will narrow Republicans’ already razor-thin majority.
Gallagher, who chairs the House of Representatives Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, had already said he would not be running for re-election in November. But his decision to leave Congress early means the seat will be vacant for a time before the next election.
The Republicans currently hold a 219-213 House majority. However, Republican Representative Ken Buck is due to step down on Friday.
When Gallagher steps down, that will narrow the majority further to 217-213, meaning that Speaker Mike Johnson can only afford to lose one vote in order to pass legislation if Democrats remain united in opposition.

Ukraine-Russia war live: More than 1m without power after Moscow ‘revenge strikes’ as Dnipro dam set on fire
Some 1.2 million people have been left without power in at least four regions across Ukraine after Russia unleashed “revenge strikes” overnight on Friday.
Russia said the attack was part of a series of attacks to punish Kyiv for attacking Russian border regions.
Around 700,000 of those were in the eastern region of Kharkiv alone, according to figures posted by presidential aide Oleksiy Kuleba on Telegram.
“Russia launched the largest combined attack on the Ukrainian energy system since the beginning of the full-scale invasion,” grid operator UkrEnergo cited their head, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, as saying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is strange that our media is not reporting the change in the Russian military operation in Ukraine. Russia is now stating that they are in a state of war and not a special military operation. As noted above, Russia has launched the largest combined attack on the Ukrainian energy system since the “war” started.
Gold is currently down over $10 an ounce and the market is down 215 points. I would normally think that a major escalation in Ukraine that is throughout that country would cause gold and the stock market to rise. Then again, war is peace as 2024 is the new 1984.
According to mainly leftist news sites, Russia is preparing to add 100,000 new soldiers for a summer offensive. This is a good exercise to monitor propaganda concerning this war that has been over since last year: it is now a killing exercise where the West is still laundering money.
This is definitely a time to watch the other hand. News concerning the US national debt, election interference, the situations in Haiti / Israel / Taiwan / Iran / Ukraine are all suppressed. Add the SARS-COV2 news concerning turbo cancer, prions from the vaccine, increased deaths around the world and ivermectin recognized as being an effective treatment for COVID-19.
And where are those French soldiers headed to fight in Ukraine? Or the berserker war in Israel that is spreading to Lebanon? Or the Houthi attacks which shut down Red Sea shipping and destabilized world shipping and showing the world that the US Navy is a paper tiger?
Division and diversions are the keys to the destruction of the nation. Be vigilant, prepare and keep your friends and family close.
FDA Loses its War on Ivermectin: Agrees to Remove All Related Social Media Content and Consumer Advisories on Ivermectin Usage for COVID-19
In December 2021, the FDA warned Americans not to use Ivermectin, which “is intended for animals” to treat or prevent COVID-19.
“Never use medications intended for animals on yourself or other people. Animal ivermectin products are very different from those approved for humans. Use of animal ivermectin for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 in humans is dangerous,” FDA said at the time.
This was a very controversial statement at the time since the FDA pushed the drug on African migrants back in 2015, and the drug was praised in several scientific journals.
There have now been 101 Ivermectin COVID-19 controlled studies that show a 62% lower risk in early treatment in COVID-19 patients.
…
On Thursday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reportedly agreed to remove all its previous social media posts and consumer advisories that specifically addressed the use of ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19.
“FDA loses its war on ivermectin and agrees to remove all social media posts and consumer directives regarding ivermectin and COVID, including its most popular tweet in FDA history. This landmark case sets an important precedent in limiting FDA overreach into the doctor-patient relationship,” Dr. Bowden wrote on her social media.
BlackRock urges Texas fund managers to reconsider after $8.5 billion divestment
A senior BlackRock executive said on Thursday the world’s largest asset manager was “dismayed” by a Texas state fund’s move to pull $8.5 billion in assets, and urged the fund’s administrators to reconsider.
Texas State Board of Education Chair Aaron Kinsey said on Tuesday the Texas Permanent School Fund (PSF) was terminating a contract with BlackRock, covering around 15% of its assets, to comply with a 2021 state law that curbed agencies’ business with financial firms accused of boycotting energy companies.
…
BlackRock Vice Chairman Mark McCombe wrote to Kinsey on Thursday that the firm had generated $250 million for PSF since 2006 and repeated previous rejections of the allegation it discriminates against oil and gas firms.
“We urge you to reconsider your decision and prioritize Texas schools and families who have benefited from BlackRock’s consistent, long-term investment out-performance,” McCombe wrote in the letter.
Marjorie Taylor Greene files motion to remove Speaker Mike Johnson
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Friday introduced a motion to vacate against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), threatening a vote to remove him.
Why it matters: Greene isn’t yet forcing the vote to remove Johnson as speaker — but the move lays the groundwork for another historic showdown on the House floor.
Woman Found Murdered in NYC Apartment After Confronting Squatters in Late Mother’s Home — Suspects Remain at Large
A 52-year-old woman was found murdered and concealed in a duffel bag in her late mother’s Manhattan apartment, following a violent confrontation with squatters, NYPD officials reported on Thursday.
Nadia Vitel, the victim, had recently traveled from Spain and was preparing her mother’s vacant 19th-floor apartment on East 31st Street for a family friend to move into. Upon her arrival, she encountered two unauthorized occupants, a man, and a woman in their 20s, according to New York Post.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny informed the press, “We believe that some squatters took the apartment over and this woman came home … and walked in on the squatters that were there.”
A violent struggle ensued, during which Vitel was reportedly thrown against a sheetrock wall, according to ABC News. The assault left her with fatal injuries, including blunt force trauma to the head, multiple facial fractures, a brain hemorrhage, and two broken ribs.
Watching Ukraine
Seeing reports that Russia has launched a massive offensive across Ukraine. I am not surprised since France has poked the bear to cover up Macron’s “wife”.
Be vigilant and pray for guidance
