Look. There are risks associated with AI anything. This has been said to us since Hal in 2001, a Space Odyssey (and probably before).

Are there risks to AI and robots? Sure. Imagine an entire squadron of Robot AI dogs with automatic weapons, or a swarm of AI drones with built-in explosives. This is an issue. Bad actors are researching this at warp speed, and because of this, we, as citizens and researchers need to be actively working on countermeasures. This is nothing new.

Are there potentially remarkable breakthroughs? Absolutely. In good hands, robot surgeons could save many more lives than human surgeons. They could repair severe damage to people after car accidents, war injuries, strokes, heart attacks and more. AI doctors would likely make far fewer medical errors, which is allegedly the third highest cause of death in the United States. AI can analyze huge quantities of data at lightning speed and develop treatment options far more sophisticated, and precise than a team of the best doctors at the best hospitals.

It is not AI, and AI robots that are the issue. It is people, the same as it has always been. I prefer to see the potential for life-saving and life-enhancing solutions from these inventions. During long space voyages, AI robots could make repairs faster and more accurately than humans. AI robots will walk on Mars before we get there and discover things that will cannot even imagine. AI is already doing far more than we even realize, and will continue to grow and expand as we ourselves discover new and innovative uses for it.

I am far more enthused about the advancements because of AI than I am afraid of it.

Their dexterity and accuracy will likely exceed traditional surgeons but the moment ANYTHING goes wrong, something happens outside their program they will either vapor lock or worse…do something truly harmful.

Robotics will get even better and you will see them patrolling the streets.Anyone remember the film Elysum. Those robot police cracked skulls to get the job done. Poor BLM, wait till a robot shows up and axes you a question, you smart aleck response may get you put to the ground with multi able contusions.
