President Donald Trump addressed the nation on Saturday night after announcing strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites via Truth Social. Speaking from the Oval Office accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the President said, “Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.” He also reached out to Israeli leadership, saying, “I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. We worked as a team. Like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we’ve gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel.”
Meanwhile:
– +Iranian state radio: the Fordow nuclear facility sustained no significant damage in the US strike.
– IDF officials: there is a slim possibility the Fordow facility was not destroyed.
– Iran’s Center for the National Nuclear Safety System: confirmed the attack, but said that emergency inspections at the affected facilities have found no signs of radioactive contamination or leaks.
– The International Atomic Energy Agency: no increase in radiation levels has been reported at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
– Remember, the one thing the media never, ever, reports is the real story and the actual truth. – And everything about Clown World is fake and gay.
The one thing that we can be sure of is that if a) nukes are real and b) the Iranian capacity for building them remains sufficiently intact, the Iranians are going to acquire some nukes in short order. I’d be shocked if they didn’t already acquire some from North Korea or Pakistan.
Given that history, I suggest everyone pour themselves a big scotch or vodka and relax. Initial reports almost always are grossly exaggerated. Here is one possibility: Trump may be doing another Houthi spin… you know, declare that Iran has capitulated and then pull US forces out of harm’s way. Iran has been extremely patient to a lengthy list of US provocations. I believe they were counseled by Russia and China to let the US strike the first blow, then Iran could retaliate and would have the full backing of both countries. It is highly unlikely that the US has delivered a crippling blow to Iran. If anything, the US has now provided the hardliners more ammunition for Iran to do the very thing that Trump claims he is trying to prevent… build a nuke.
UPDATE–Upon further reflection, and given initial reports from the sites attacked by the US, I think Iran will not attack US bases in the region because the damage is minimal and they would prefer to keep the focus on Israel. If they don’t attack US bases — and I suspect that is the counsel Russia and China are providing — Iran can continue to decimate Israel and not provide the US with a pretext to expand the war.

There are some curious strategies at play all around. Putin makes some comment about how many former Russian citizens live in Palestine and how that tempers Russian thinking, The Pakistani Nobel Prize nomination for DT, the Pakistani Chief of Staff visits Washington just 2 days ago.
Russia is at war in Ukraine of course, and that has to be their priority. Direct involvement with the US is out of the question and Iran getting into a sustained fight probably has some impact on availability of Drones and other material that has been coming to Russia from Iran. It is still an opportunity for Russia to get some payback on the US for our behavior in Ukraine. They have a large and unrivaled array of antiship missiles that have no utility in Ukraine. If I were Vlad they would be exported to 3rd parties with compliments and no restrictions. I tend to doubt the US actually wants one of the carriers to be sunk, old or not. As you can see, they get the desired war they want anyway. If the US were to lose a carrier to a Russian top end missile provided to Yemen or Iran with ISR guidance, the deaths of 3000 or more dead sailors and the loss of prestige would be the end of US carrier diplomacy as we have seen it since 1945. On top of that, the current generation of “fighting sailors”, (remember the Bonhomme Richard fire?) will be finding administrative reasons to get out of the Navy faster than you can say “shark bait”.
Pakistan is interesting. Clearly they were given incentives to stay disinterested in developments in Iran. They are probably cooperating in regime destabilization efforts in the Belochistan frontier with Iran as well. In the end though, they owe everything to China and have the India problem to worry about. They are a definite wild card.
China really stands to benefit regardless of how this develops. The US ammunition stockpiles get lower by the day and can never be replenished at the rate of consumption. A lot of the interceptor missiles do not perform at advertised levels of effectiveness and everyone is learning how to defeat these systems. If Iran wants to fight on, China can certainly keep them in the fight. All that is really required is for Iran to have one good “lucky” day and America will have to either go home or escalate. We are at maximum force projection now for conventional weapons and I suspect that the Rhino congress would move to impeach if there is any major military setback on our end. China could go all in on Taiwan with a distraction like this, but why take the risk, the US is likely to implode before this has run its course anyway.

Attacking nuclear sites is not good as the environmental damage could come back to bite us in our arse.
Better to take out munition supply depots, government buildings, ect..
As far as Iran attacking America I could see either sleeper cells being activated and shutting the entire grid down or an EMP for maximum damage.
Either way they want us dead.
Restock and stock some more, the party may start sooner than we think.
