I am happy to have your comment as an example that is of concern to me. While i do most whole heartedly agree that the time of our Lords return is imminent. What if, just simply entertain, what if we are wrong? I suspect those in the horrors of WW2 considered the same. My Dad of that generation tells me many were convinced that Adolf was THE Antichrist. They were wrong. What if they capitulated their responsibilities, their birthright of freedom for the certainty of that gathering of clouds and trumpets sounding?
I mean no disrespect, I share the belief that at some future point Jesus will gather his followers in the clouds for His purpose and fulfillment of promise. What I fear and what I see is an apathy towards the plight of this world. While we are not to make this our home we are to work in righteousness for those qualities that reflect our Savior. Love, Freedom, Liberty, Justice. In so doing, be it our deaths or our praise, we honor our Creator.
That those remaining will see the glory of our Father and perhaps turn their hearts towards Him. Therein lies purpose beyond bread and circuses.
