I told one churchgoer that I thought a lot of parishioners were secretly glad the churches closed. This way they can fulfill their religious obligations by showing up in pajamas to their living room to watch the video service. People want to be told what to do so they can always absolve themselves of the challenge of doing their own critical thinking.
What will God’s people do in the end? They’ll be like the military soldiers and now health care workers. When they get to the pearly gates, they will say they were just following orders!
