According to a press release published on the group’s website, New York Fire Commissioners who were closely involved with the events of that day, have called for a new investigation into the 9/11 attacks.

On July 24, the Franklin Square and Munson Fire Districts voted unanimously for a new investigation, citing “overwhelming evidence” that “pre-planted explosives . . . caused the destruction of the three World Trade Center buildings.”

I was never one to give credence to the conspiracy theories for 9/11. This information would point to our government being involved in a coverup which would dwarf everything else currently being exposed.

The House just overrode the Governor’s veto of the budget,55-9, and his veto of HB 555, Medicaid Transformation, 55-10. Democrats went berserk and disrupted the conduct of business, acting like spoiled children, making false claims that the Speaker had announced that there would be no votes this morning, when he had not done any such thing. Claims were made that he was being deceitful and dishonoring the process. That isn’t true, either; but if he did anything unfair, (which I don’t think he did) he learned it in his years in the minority under Democrat leadership. Now it is up to the Senate to override, as well, so that the people of North Carolina will actually receive the benefits coming to them in this year’s budget. I look forward to Cabarrus County getting our new Assistant District Attorney and District Court Judge.

Virginia Citizens Defense League has been made aware of an incident at a Walmart in Kentucky where someone open carrying a handgun was approached by police and asked to sign a trespass document saying he acknowledges being banned for Walmart property anywhere in the U.S., indefinitely.

That contradicts the official policy as laid out by Walmart’s CEO.

I have also heard from a third party that Walmart is going to post their stores “no open carry.” However, I’m not taking that as Gospel until someone actually sees such a sign.

In the meantime, I recommend that you do not open carry in Walmart for at least a week until we see if such a sign materializes or we get more definitive information from Walmart.

Concealed carry remains a safe option, as Walmart’s policy specifically allows for such.

Walmart Pushing Gun Control Ala Dicks Sporting Goods

Walmart is now behaving much like Dicks Sporting Goods by pushing gun control and is going to lose a lot of business from gun owners, accordingly.

Walmart claims to be working with Moms Demand Action on lobbying Congress to look at “strengthening background checks,” to “remove weapons from those proven to pose an imminent danger,” and “the reauthorization of the assault weapon ban should be debated to determine its effectiveness.”

Lobbying Congress for more gun control crosses the line.

New Jersey’s Democratic governor, Phil Murphy, is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday that will leverage the state’s purchasing power to coerce gun retailers, manufacturers, and financial institutions to comply with a more stringent gun-control regime.

Under the executive order, the state, which purchases an estimated $70 million in firearms and related equipment annually, will refuse to do business with gun manufacturers and retailers that lack policies that deny guns to people with a history of mental illness or domestic abuse, the New York Times first reported. Retailers that wish to keep the state’s business will be required to “prevent, detect and screen for the transfer of firearms to straw purchasers or firearm traffickers.”

Murphy’s order will also deny the roughly $1 billion in financial-transaction fees the state pays annually to banks that have relationships with gun manufacturers and retailers that adhere to permissive policies.

New Jersey already has strict gun-control laws in place that require retailers to perform background checks, but the new policy will apply to out-of-state companies that are not bound by New Jersey laws.

“Taxpayers are the top purchasers of firearms,” reads the order Murphy is expected to sign. “The State should not be purchasing firearms, ammunition or equipment from vendors that place civilians and law enforcement in harm’s way by virtue of not adopting responsible practices related to firearms.”

A number of major financial institutions have already announced that they will cease loaning money to gun manufacturers and retailers that don’t comply with prescribed age-limit and background-check requirements.

The executive order, which represents the most aggressive extra-legislative gun-control effort ever undertaken by a state, is expected to meet with strong resistance from gun-rights groups.
