Islamic State claimed responsibility for a suicide attack with an explosive-laden fuel tanker on an Iraqi police checkpoint south of Baghdad, killing at least 60 people and wounding more than 70, medical and security officials said.

Responsibility was claimed in a posting on the website of the Amaq news agency, which supports the ultra-hardline Sunni group.

“A martyr’s operation with a truck bomb hit the Babylon Ruins checkpoint at the entrance of the city of Hilla, killing and wounding dozens,” the statement on the Amaq website said.

The Evil That Men Do: Willful Submission To Illegitimate Authority by Bill Buppert

“Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.”

– Henry David Thoreau

The US Federal government through its satraps and political goons in Nevada just crowd-sourced and thug-scrummed fourteen folks from the Bundy circus in 2014. The prosecution complex at the beck and call of the DC Orcs will print out reams of charges and indictments to bury these hapless souls in. I am assuming that they will wait until 2018 to gather up the latest miscreants who occupied an empty Federal facility in Oregon. Note the irony of the use of the word occupy in all these circumstances.

The massive Stasi-like scheme to make preemptive speech and behavior actionable for kidnapping, fining and imprisonment under color of law is moving apace. Read the indictments carefully because more of the same and worse is coming.

Victimless crime and fictional crimes like malum prohibitum demand an informant culture that, like torture, morally corrupt everyone ensnared in the system. And that informant culture in the USSA is massive indeed.

The entire concept of a rule of law is specious and only feeds the evil people in charge. And keep in mind that one human on Earth can have their personal liberty sundered if not for the use of police forces by government planet-wide.

We live in tumultuous times that demand close attention to the yokes being placed on us. The US government is seemingly in the throes of a coup that is exponentially creeping and expanding into what was formerly a fairly autonomous province. Every sector and branch of human transactions that are palpable in this mortal coil is now being subject to regulation, taxation or both. With no authority whatsoever, entire swaths of American society are being subsumed under Leviathan state.

The Economic Collapse Of South America Is Well Underway

Earth - Our World - Public Domain

The 7th largest economy on the entire planet is completely imploding.  I have written previously about the economic depression that is plaguing Brazil, but since my last article it has gotten much, much worse.  During 2015, Brazil’s economy shrank by 3.8 percent, but for the most recent quarter the decline was 5.89 percent on a year over year basis.  Unemployment is rising rapidly, the inflation rate is up over 10 percent, and Brazilian currency has lost 24 percent of its value compared to the U.S. dollar over the past 12 months.

At this point, Brazil is already experiencing its longest economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s, and things are getting worse for ordinary Brazilians every single day.  The following comes from CNN

But with Brazil plunging into its worst recession in over two decades — hopes for a brighter future are fading. The Brazilian economy shrank 3.8% in 2015, according to government data published Thursday. That’s the biggest annual drop since 1990 and the country is in its longest recession since the 1930s.

I have never seen anything like this,” said Alves, 24, as he stood on his balcony overlooking Rocinha, a massive lower middle class neighborhood or favela in Rio de Janeiro where he grew up. “My parents would tell me about hard times, but today it is really tough. Prices are going up every day.”

So how did this happen?

Well, there are a couple of factors that are really hurting South American economies.

Number one, during the “boom years” governments and businesses in South America absolutely gorged on debt.  Unfortunately, many of those loans were denominated in U.S. dollars, and now that the U.S. dollar has appreciated greatly against local South American currencies it is taking far more of those local currencies to service and pay back those debts.

Legalizing Weed Has Done What 1 Trillion Dollars And A 40 Year War Couldn’t

Image: Daily CBD

The Mexican drug cartels are finally meeting their match as a wave of cannabis legalization efforts drastically reshapes the drug trafficking landscape in the United States. It turns out that as states legalize cannabis use and cultivation, the volume of weed brought across the border by Mexican drug cartels dramatically decreases — and is putting a dent in their cash flow.

A newly-released statistical report from the U.S. Border Patrol shows a sharp drop-off in cannabis captured at the border between the United States and Mexico. The reduction in weed trafficking coincides with dozens of states embracing cannabis use for both medical and recreational purposes.

In fact, as the Washington Post reports, cannabis confiscations at the southern border have stumbled to the lowest point in over a decade — to only 1.5 million pounds. That’s down from a peak of four million pounds in 2009.

Speaking to Anti-Media, Amir Zendehnam, host of the popular cannabis show, “In the Clear with Amir” on Z420.tv, told us what he thinks of these new statistics:

“The economics of the cannabis industry show us that with healthy competition in the market, prices drop, quality rises, violence diminishes, and peaceful transactions increase. As constant new research emerges detailing the plant’s benefits, the negative stigma of using cannabis, both medicinally and recreationally, is diminishing, raising the demand for high quality product.

“Colorado, for example, is experiencing an economic boom that has never been seen in the state. The biggest issue in Colorado today is what to do with the huge amounts of revenue and economic success the state is gaining as a result of legalization. The Colorado model has proven that legalization reduces crime rates, cuts prices, pushes unfavorable competition out of the market, provides cleaner products with heightened transparency, and increases the standard of living for society as a whole.

Mad as hell

Having lived on this earth and the United States for some seventy-two years, I am frustrated and saddened when I look at the state of my country and government. When all the federal income taxes that I have paid during my entire working life wouldn’t fund the losses of the Senate barber shop for one year something is very, very wrong.

The senate barber shop loses $340,000.00 each year while providing our elite with $20.00 haircuts. The Senate restaurants and coffee shops have lost $18 million since 1993. Each senator receives a salary of $174,000.00 and an administrative slush fund of between two and four million dollars a year – with no accountability of how the money is spent.

The Obama family has soaked the American taxpayers to the tune of $70.5 million for vacations since he took office. House and senate members have the greatest vacation packages that the taxpayers can provide – does anyone really believe that some congress member really needs to go to Hawaii, and take his family, to become better informed??? There folks roam around the world on the taxpayer’s dime like they were Saudi royal princes – and nationality aside – they are!!!!

The Affordable Care Act a.k.a. Obamacare (which is anything but affordable) was passed by congressional members who were cajoled, threatened, intimidated, and purchased – this after they refused to even read the bill that they were approving. Obamacare was imposed on the serfdom of America but the very people who forced this mess on the people promptly exempted themselves from the program.

Clinton Campaign Writes Checks to Planned Parenthood

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton paid Planned Parenthood thousands of dollars using campaign funds.

The Democratic frontrunner’s federal financial disclosures reveal that America’s top abortionist received four separate payments from the Clinton campaign. The payments were filed as reimbursements for “staff time” for volunteering and get out the vote efforts, as Clinton attempted to beat back the insurgent campaign of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) in Iowa.

Neither Clinton, nor Planned Parenthood returned request for comment or answered questions about the specific nature of the payments.

Planned Parenthood performs more than 300,000 abortions annually and generates 40 percent of its annual revenues through the government. The billion-dollar organization receives about $500 million from taxpayers each year through Medicaid funds and other grants. It received a large funding bonus from foreign policy agencies overseen by Clinton during her tenure as secretary of state, collecting more than $100 million for overseas services to the USAID.

Gold ETF Market Breaks: BlackRock Suspends ETF Issuance Due To “Surging Demand For Gold”

BlackRock’s Gold ETF (IAU) has seen fund inflows every day in 2016 (no outflows at all) and with the stock trading above its NAV for most of the year, the world’s largest asset manager has made a significant decision:

  • *BLACKROCK SAYS ISSUANCE OF GOLD TRUST SHARES SUSPENDED
  • *BLACKROCK SAYS SUSPENSION DUE TO DEMAND FOR GOLD

Translation:

Paper gold is worthless. As people cash in their paper for physical gold, defaults will occur and the price of gold will necessarily skyrocket. The same logic is applicable to paper currency as the paper money supply is not sufficient to cover hoarding of physical currency.

It’s a revolution: German banks told to start hoarding cash

offshore-bank-account

by Simon Black

German newspaper Der Spiegel reported yesterday that the Bavarian Banking Association has recommended that its member banks start stockpiling PHYSICAL CASH.

Europe, of course, has been battling with negative interest rates for quite some time.

What this means is that commercial banks are being charged interest for holding wholesale deposits at the European Central Bank.

In order to generate artificial economic growth, the ECB wants banks to make as many loans as possible, no matter how stupid or idiotic.

They believe that economic growth is simply a function of loans. The more money that’s loaned out, the more the economy will grow.

This is the sort of theory that works really well in an economic textbook. But it doesn’t work so well in a history textbook.

Obama Renews Decree Calling Venezuela a ‘Threat’

U.S. President Barack Obama renewed his executive order declaring Venezuela an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to the United States.

The executive order, first signed by Obama last year, imposed sanctions on Venezuela.
U.S. President Barack Obama renewed Thursday an executive order issued last March that declared Venezuela “an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.”

The renewal of the decree is valid for one year and was revealed in a letter from Obama to congressional leaders. In the letter, the U.S. president claims that alleged conditions that first prompted the order had “not improved.”

The executive order was first issued by Obama in March 2015 and provoked a storm of controversy inside Venezuela and a backlash throughout Latin America.

After issuing the order last year, the pResident admitted that Venezuela posed no threat to the United States. Then why renew the executive order? Because he can and that is what dictators do.
