Bitcoin prices plunged early Friday after Mt.Gox, the major exchange for the virtual currency, said it was forced to halt withdrawals for customers.
Mt.Gox said an increase in withdrawal requests caused technical problems for its systems.
“To understand the issue thoroughly, the system needs to be in a static state,” Mt.Gox said in a statement. “We apologize for the sudden short notice.”
National Journal released its 2013 vote ratings on Thursday. The ratings are based on roll-call votes from 2013 and compared on an ideological scale. Votes on noncontroversial issues and issues that fall along regional lines were not included.
Below are the ten most liberal senators in 2013. The ratings were decided based on 117 votes in the Senate.
Sens. Schatz, Schumer, and Murphy all received the same scores on economic, social, and foreign policy issues. The three are 93 percent more liberal than the rest of the Senate on economic issues, 73 percent more liberal on social issues, and 71 percent more liberal on foreign policy issues. They received a composite liberal score of 89.5 out of 100.
U.S. stock futures turned lower ahead of the opening bell after the government said only 113,000 jobs were created in January. The unemployment rate came in at 6.6%.
Economists surveyed by CNNMoney expected the U.S. economy to have added 178,000 jobs and the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 6.7%.
Some economists had warned that a weak jobs report could be expected due to unusually cold weather in January.
U.S. stocks rallied Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 logging their biggest gains of the year. Investors were encouraged after fewer-than-expected Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week.

Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked Democrats’ third attempt to pass an extension of federal unemployment benefits.
The Senate voted 58-40 Thursday on a proposal that would have continued unemployment insurance for three months, just short of the 60 votes needed to end debate.
“I’m beginning to believe there is nothing that will get Republicans to yes,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said. “It’s a ‘no’ vote because they don’t want to extend unemployment insurance.”
“We’re one Republican vote away from restoring benefits to 1.7 million Americans,” Reid said. “There is one Republican vote standing in the way of a lifeline to these 1.7 million people.”

Take heart America, the counter-revolution is nigh. From an historical point of view no system of government has survived the changes taking place in America right now. That is not to say that it will not get uglier before it gets worse, but no government has withstood the radical political, economic and religious attacks Americans currently suffer without revolt.

Now it comes to a head, with all of the varying forces of oppression openly avowed against liberty, against capitalism and against societal norms, the face of the revolutionists have been revealed.
While the revolutionists have quietly changed every aspect of American society by molding them into statues of patriotism; hiding them behind principles of Christianity and waging war against “inequality” (which is revolutionist code for their war against private property) they were able to distract the masses. They think they have changed America, but they have only fooled Americans.
