In London as in Boston, terrorist-killers were known to security services

One of the Woolwich terrorists after murdering British soldier
The two Islamist terrorists who hacked a British soldier to death on a London street Wednesday, May 22, chanting Allahu Akbar, were born in Britain of Nigerian descent and known to British security authorities. Motivated by revenge for Muslim deaths in Afghanistan, they selected as their victim a soldier from the Woolwich barracks who had served there. One of the terrorists was identified as Michael Adebolajo, 28, a convert to Islam and self-styled Muslim preacher from a street stand, from which he handed out leaflets condemning the British government and troops fighting in Muslim lands.
His stand was located in the southeastern London suburb of Woolwich, not far from the Royal Artillery barracks near which he committed his savage murder.
Adelbolajo’s crime was long planned. He spent time watching the soldiers coming and going around the barracks. He may even have singled out his victim from a chance acquaintance.
Thursday, the day after the murder, British anti-terrorist operatives carried out searches at various London addresses which the terrorist had used as a student at Greenwich University.
The British authorities have made no statements about arrests or even the interrogation of either of the two terrorists, who are in separate hospitals recovering from police gunshots.
Neither have they revealed why the accumulation of carving knives, a machete and a firearm in their possession never attracted notice. The police are also extremely cagey about the two men’s friends and contacts. As in the case of the Boston Marathon bombing, the relevant information began seeping out by chance much later.
The extreme savagery of the killing in broad daylight on a busy London street, culminating in a beheading, recalled the fate of Western hostages at the hands of Al Qaeda’s Iraq commander Musab al-Zarqawi in the years between 2004 and 2006. His custom of beheading victims became a hallmark of al Qaeda savagery.
Would the Obama Administration kill for power?
On its face it seems like such a laughable question, doesn’t it? Surely, no Republic would ever a elect a tyrant willing to shed the blood of it’s citizens for power.
And yet we know that this Administration has admitted to killing for Americans with drone strikes, and that has taken part in gun-smuggling schemes to arm Mexican drug cartels which predictably has resulted in the deaths of American citizens.
Most chillingly, it has been revealed that it has abused the Espionage Act to go after Fox News reporters, and the penalty for espionage is death:
The Justice Department did more than seize a Fox News reporter’s emails while suggesting he was a criminal “co-conspirator” in a leak case — it did so under one of the most serious wartime laws in America, the Espionage Act.
Remember Kent State…
The Kent State massacre – when government troops loaded their rifles, affixed their bayonets, and charged a crowd of unarmed protesters, ultimately firing into that crowd killing 4 students and injuring 9 others.
No one was charged with a crime afterwards – not the National Guard soldiers who fired the shots, nor their officers, nor any official from the university, town, or state police. No one took responsibility for the killing and maiming of unarmed civilians who did nothing more than engage in the rightful use of their God-given, constitutionally protected rights. No one even took responsibility for the fact that the soldiers had loaded their rifles and affixed bayonets.
Pause and think for a moment – over 100 soldiers loaded their rifles and affixed their bayonets as they prepared to face an unarmed crowd of students. Understand: bayonets are for en-masse hand-to-hand combat – the most brutal, horrifying dance of death known to man. Carrying M-1 rifles with bayonets affixed gave those guardsmen the most intimidating appearance possible, as well as preparing them for ultimate violence, and every member of that guard detachment knew it.

Delinquent Student Loans Hit Record, 30% Of 20-24 Year Olds Are Unemployed And Not In School
Almost a year ago we shared a calculation according to which “Over $120 Billion In Federal Student Loans In Default“, suggesting that the next credit crisis has already arrived. Since then the topic of the student loan bubble has become a household topic. Sadly, that does not mean it has gotten any better. In fact, according to the latest Education Department data it has gotten as bad as it has ever been. As Bloomberg reports, not only have overdue student loans reached an all-time high but the number of young people aged 20-24 out of school and unemployed is at a record high: not quite astronomic by European standards, but hardly a ringing endorsement of an economy set to transition labor tasks to the next generation, especially with the employment of those 55 and older at all time highs.
From Bloomberg:
Eleven percent of student loans were seriously delinquent — at least 90 days past due — in the third quarter of 2012, compared with 6 percent in the first quarter of 2003, according to the report by the U.S. Education Department. Almost 30 percent of 20- to 24-year-olds aren’t employed or in school, the study found.

US Treasury secretary says he has begun tapping federal retiree pension fund to avoid default
Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said late Monday he will begin tapping into two government employee retirement funds to buy more time before the U.S. Treasury is faced with the prospect of defaulting on the national debt.
In a letter to congressional leaders, Lew said that he would tap the civil service retirement and disability fund and a similar fund that covers retired postal workers. The law allows him to remove investments from these funds to clear room for more borrowing until Congress votes to raise the debt limit
Under the law, any investments diverted from the pension funds must be replaced with interest once Congress approves raising the debt limit.
Lew has said the various bookkeeping measures he is allowed to employ should provide enough maneuvering room to keep the government from defaulting on its debt until after Labor Day. Other estimates say Lew may be able to forestall a default until as late as November.

NC House Finance committee chair resigns, blames Speaker
RALEIGH, N.C. —A chairman of the state House Finance Committee says he’s stepping down over displeasure with decisions of the Republican-led legislature and mistreatment from Speaker Thom Tillis.
Rep. Robert Brawley of Mooresville issued a resignation letter Wednesday on the House floor.
Brawley claimed Tillis intimidated him over a bill broadening the service area of local cable provider MI Connections because Tillis has a business relationship with Time Warner Cable. Tillis’ spokesman said he isn’t aware of any relationship.

Obama Administration Now Favors Muslim Clerics for Christian American Military Burial Services
Christian chaplains are being subjected to punishment by Obama’s accomplices and rejected in favor of the terrorism of Islam.
Just a couple of weeks ago my column spoke of how Christianity is in serious decline in our White House to Obama’s preferred – and publicly acknowledged favored Islam. More evidence: In an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times, on February 27, 2007, Obama recited the Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, “with a first-class [Arabic] accent.”
The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:
“Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet… “
According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim’s complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam.

Japanese Bond Market Halted At Open As Selling Purge Goes Airborne
Japanese government bonds (JGB) futures have been halted once again this evening as the market opens down over 1 point. 10Y yields smash 11.5bps higher to 1.00% and 5Y yields add 6bps to 47bps. These are quite simply unprecedented moves in what ‘was’ a safe asset class and impresses yet another VaR shock on the market (as we detailed here). What this really means is that Japanese banks push further into insolvency land (as we explained here) today’s move wipes another 1.5% of blended Tier 1 capital off the Japanese banking industry. Today’s jump in 10Y yields continues the post-BoJ regime of greater-than-six-sigma moves… something no risk model can withstand for three weeks… Just a good job the BoJ didn’t have anything at all to say about this totally disorderly fiasco yesterday.
JGB Futures plunge to two-year lows…
