The government is apparently pushing hard on those closest to our hearts to see what we are made of. If we will abandon those servicemen, how will we ever stand up for each other? They want to test the most popular cases. If you understand Barack Obama and his ilk, you understand that they go for the strongest to discourage the rest of us. If they can put Nathan Haddad, a decorated solider, in prison doesn’t that send a message to all of us who do not have such a compelling story?

So, now they have targeted Benjamin Wassell. Injured in the Iraq War: OIF. From independent research, Wassell was arrested for selling an AR-15 and an AR-10 to an undercover police officer who lied to him about what he wanted the weapons for and who he was. He did not sell the weapons to someone who was a felon, he sold them to someone who lied about being a felon. He did not sell the weapons to a drug dealer as the Department of Justice did during the Fast and Furious/Gunwalker Scandal, for which no one has gone to prison. He did not sell them to someone who would use them to commit criminal acts approved of by this sham of a government as gun stores do every day when selling to police officers. Let me follow one cop and I will detail the several felonies they commit as routine duty.

Gun store owner cancels Mark Kelly’s AR-15 purchase

An Arizona gun store owner says he will not sell Mark Kelly the AR-15 rifle that the vocal advocate for tighter gun control bought earlier this month.

The manager of the Tucson, Ariz., store where Kelly, husband of former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, bought the firearm has said that he will not complete the March 5 transaction, according to a statement posted on Facebook.

“While I support and respect Mark Kelly’s 2nd Amendment rights to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible manner, his recent statements to the media made it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer M400 5.56mm rifle from us was for reasons other then [sic] for his personal use,” Douglas MacKinlay, owner of Diamondback Police Supply, said in the post.

Unintended Consequence …

Dictators – be they of the left, center-left, or centrist variety – are a very important part of everyone’s lives. They unconditionally share with us other people’s wealth even when we don’t ask for it – and all they want in return is our approval and total compliance. Whether we are at home, at work, or relaxing with friends, our beloved dictator is always kindly watching our every step, protecting us from our own bad choices and unhealthy urges.

But there inevitably comes a time to say “good-bye.” The loss of a tyrant leaves a tremendous hole in our lives and the grief can be overwhelming. After the shock wears off, we are faced with the dilemma of what to do with the remains. Many heart-broken subjects can’t stand the thought of having dear leader cremated or buried like a mere human.

Thankfully, today’s technology gives us several comforting alternatives, ranging from vacuum sealing to freeze-dry preservation. Although they are no longer living, despots can perpetually remain in our presence, and can even be displayed to groups of awestruck school children or added to the bus tour circuit for hard-currency foreign visitors.

European Bank Bonds Plunge To 5-Month Lows

Close-to-close, headlines will be happy that things do not appear to be collapsing in Europe. The broadest equity indices only lost a fraction of a percent and bonds ended unchanged. But the action in the last hour or two (which saw Spanish and Italian bonds weaken considerably) and the relentless leak lower in Italian and Spanish stocks (now down 4.5 and 3.5% on the week respectively) suggest risk-appetite is fading fast. German and Swiss 2Y rates are negative once again as safety is chased and EUR-USD basis swaps are holding their lows. EURUSD tried to rally but failed and ended at the lows of the session as European banking credit markets continued to weaken – now at 5-month wide spreads (and their stocks still playing catch down).

  2. Taxes

    Just another form of confiscation, taxation plunders the hard work and talent of the citizenry. But thanks to decades of brainwashing, it’s more socially acceptable. We’ve come to regard taxes as a ‘necessary evil,’ not realizing that the country existed for decades, even centuries, without an income tax.

    Yet when bankrupt governments get desperate enough, they begin imposing new taxes… primarily WEALTH taxes (Argentina) or windfall profits taxes (United States in the 1970s)

A Financial ‘Night of the Long Knives’ is Upon Us

A financial “Night of the Long Knives” against savers is being played out in the European Parliament right now – and it is not the last bit of damage to be done…only the next.  At this point, the veil has slipped enough to see their final design – the absolute elimination of all personal wealth through a combination of manipulation of markets, currencies, and regulations, and outright theft of personal property through Savings Levies, “Bail-ins”, and … “Transfer Taxes”.

Yes, I said Transfer Taxes – so when a saver realizes that his money is at risk in a given bank, and goes to move it, he will have to pay a “Transfer Tax”, sometimes called an “Exit Tax”, to remove his deposits from the bank.  This Transfer Tax will apply to all bank transfers, but will be most egregiously punitive when a depositor is completely ‘exiting’ a financial institution. 

REMEMBER, THEY ARE NEVER DONE STEALING FROM YOU.

China’s military is expanding its unmanned aerial vehicle forces with a new Predator-like armed drone and a new unmanned combat aircraft amid growing tensions with neighbors in Asia, according to U.S. intelligence officials.

New unarmed drone deployments include the recent stationing of reconnaissance and ocean surveillance drones in Northeast Asia near Japan and the Senkaku islands and along China’s southern coast. Drones also are planned for the South China Sea where China has been encroaching on international waters and bullying nations of that region in asserting control over international waters, said officials familiar with intelligence reports.

“Unmanned aerial vehicles are emerging as critical enablers for PLA long range precision strike operations,” said Mark Stokes, a former military intelligence official now with the Project 2049 Institute. “A general operational PLA requirement appears to be persistent surveillance of fixed and moving targets out to 3,000 kilometers of Chinese shores.”

Houston we may have a problem: with the DJIA trumpetedely hitting new all time highs day after day in March, one would expect that its traditional second derivative – US Consumer Confidence, would be at all time highs as well, or close thereby. One would be wrong, because according to the Conference Board, March consumer confidence plunged to 59.7 from 69.6, and well below expectations of a 67.5 print.

More Forgotten History

I did not know that 10,000 Jewish soldier fought in the Civil War. The information below comes from the Jerusalem Post. Two corrections: the southern states did not seek to secede, they did secede. That is why this war should be correctly called “The War of Northern Aggression”. As we are on the verge of a new War of Federal Aggression, let us pray that the ammunition stockpiles by the government will be redistributed into the proper hands.

Passover on the battlefields of the US Civil War

The US Civil War was a watershed that involved 10,000 Jewish soldiers from all over the nation fighting side by side with their gentile comrades.

It was April 24, 1864, at the height of the American Civil War, and in between his duties as an infantryman, young Isaac J. Levy sat down in camp on one of the intermediate days of Passover to write a short letter to his sister back home.

Levy, who served in the 46th Virginia infantry unit, was a soldier in the Confederate army which was battling on behalf of the southern states that sought to secede from the United States.

The war had just entered its fourth year, and it would prove to be the bloodiest conflict in American history. New research published last year in the journal Civil War History by demographic historian J. David Hacker of Binghamton University revealed the death toll may have been as high as 750,000 people.

Levy and his regiment, which included his brother Ezekiel, who served as a captain, were posted at Adams Run, South Carolina, and the fog of war had cast a shadow over his observance of the holiday.

Law enforcement leaders voice concerns about weaponizing domestic drones

Leaders in the law enforcement community want people to know that they are against the arming of domestic drones.

Public attention to the privacy and safety issues associated with unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, was recently spurred by Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s near 13-hour filibuster of the confirmation of now-CIA Director John Brennan over the drone issue.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) had, however, already approved unmanned aircraft guidelines in the middle of August 2012 that addressed major privacy and safety concerns.
