Remember this DHS assessment of our returning soldiers as a terrorist threat:

“the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks”

A report from WND has a list of proposed firearm restrictions from the Center for American Progress. They “demand” that guns not be sold to anyone on the U.S. Government’s Terrorist Watchlist. Combine the government impending denial to own firearms to anyone taking certain medication (mainly soldiers) and it appears that the government feels that our soldiers may represent a significant threat to their agenda. Pesky thing, that Constitution and its outdated concept of Liberty.

Union/state pensions are killing the economy and stealing from people who work in the private (real) sector. As Illinois (and soon Washington) is realizing, there is no way out from under the tsunami that is about to hit.

Iran sends monkeys into space – so can place nukes anywhere on earth

Iran will parade its ballistic rocket achievements by sending monkeys into space next month. Hamid Fazeli, head of the country’s space agency said Tuesday, Jan. 15 that the launch would be part of the celebrations leading up to the 34th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Feb. 10 and part of the program for putting humans in orbit in 2020.

Five monkeys in a capsule named Pishgam (Pioneer) will be carried into orbit by a Kavoshgar rocket and orbit earth 120-130 kilometers in space, he said. Western space experts are dubious about Iran’s ability to send a capsule into orbit and expect the monkeys to come down to earth quite soon.

This is not the first such attempt to be touted by Tehran. Last October, Iran acknowledged that an attempt to send a live monkey into space on August 1 was a failure.

DEBKAfile reports that the Iranians habitually mask the advances in their nuclear and missile programs by claiming they are purely in the interests of scientific research.

NC Listen – stop illegals from getting NC driver’s licenses

Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,

The illegal alien immigrants and their handlers and race-based organizations are at it again.  They are pressing the North Carolina Attorney General’s office to make a ruling to allow illegal immigrants to acquire a NC driver’s license, not only to drive to but to masquerade as legal residents.

President Obama, through his unconstitutional and unlawful DACA amnesty to over one million illegal immigrants last fall, granted them a reprieve from being deported for two years.  As bad as this temporary amnesty is, it is not legalization.  But the illegals under DACA are attempting to get NC driver’s licenses.  Our NC DMV is asking NC Attorney General Roy Cooper to issue a ruling on this matter.

Ten of our own Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents find Obama’s actions so disgusting they have filed suit (an injunction against the directive) against DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton saying Obama’s executive order violates federal immigration laws.  It’s pretty sad when federal ICE agents have to sue because the President of the United States is breaking our own immigration laws.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told an Israeli TV interviewer Monday night, Jan. 14 that his government had spent billions of shekels to outfit Israel’s Defense Forces with offensive and defensive options which were hitherto lacking. He stressed Israel is obliged to be extremely strong – whether to stand up to the Iranian nuclear threat and the extremist Islamist wave lashing the Arab world – or to make peace.

Earlier Monday, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz ceremonially installed Maj. Gen. Gady Eisenkott as deputy C.-of-S, after the state attorney had approved his taking up the post irregularly in the middle of an election campaign in view of Israel’s security situation.

When the AG made that decision some days ago, a decision by Syrian President Bashar Assad to attack Israel with chemical weapons was taken into account as a possibility. Not that the danger is over,  only that it was pushed into a quiet corner by the statements made last Friday, Jan. 11 by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint US Chiefs Gen. Martin Dempsey.

They explained at a joint news conference in Washington that if Assad chose to use his chemical stockpiles, it would be virtually impossible for US intelligence to detect it in advance or to stop him. “You would have to actually see it before it happened,” said Dempsey.

Fitch Issues Another Rating Warning For AmericAAA

With precisely one month left until the early bound of the debt ceiling crunch and a possible US government shut down and/or technical default, and with M.A.D. warnings from the president and treasury secretary doing nothing to precipitate a sense of urgency (which will not arrive until there is a 20% market drop, so far consistently delayed but which will eventually happen), here comes the most toothless of rating agencies, French Fitch which somehow kept its mouth shut over the past 18 months, when US debt rose by over $2.1 trillion and debt to GDP hit 103%, shaking a little stick furiously, no doubt under guidance by its corporate HoldCo owners: French Fimilac SA.

From Reuters:

There is a material risk the United States would lose its triple-A if there is a repeat of 2011 wrangling over raising the country’s self-imposed debt ceiling, rating firm Fitch said on Tuesday.

“If anything the pressure on the U.S. rating is increasing,” Fitch’s head of sovereign ratings David Riley said at a conference hosted by the firm.

“If we have a repeat of the August 2011 debt ceiling crisis we will place the U.S. rating under review. There will be a material risk of the U.S rating coming down,” he added.

Oh no: not “under review” and anything but the dreaded material risk that the French rating agency will finally catch up to S&P on the US rating with only an 18 month delay. Anything but that…

GRNC Alert 1-15-12 NC Anti-Gun Mayors Back Obama Gun Ban

They “Demand A Plan” to revoke Second Amendment rights

You may have heard of rabidly anti-gun NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s organization, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG). Make no mistake, these tyrants are against YOUR guns, not “illegal” ones. As you may recall, MAIG contains numerous  criminals who are themselves barred by federal law from possessing firearms (see “Gun Owners Against Illegal Mayors”).

Whatever their rationale, North Carolina MAIG members have decided to jump on the Obama/Biden/Feinstein gun ban bandwagon. Morrisville Mayor Jackie Holcombe, Durham Mayor Bill Bell, and Chapel Hill Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt have recently launched television ads supporting draconian bans on semi-automatic firearms and standard capacity magazines. According to Kleinschmidt,

“Americans agree that now is the time for Washington to create a plan to address gun violence in America.”

The mayor fails to understand that “bans” don’t constitute “plans.” If these gun control extremists were really interested in reducing violence, they would push for the elimination of “Gun Free Zones” that have become the most dangerous places in our society. Instead they exploit another predictable mass-murder of defenseless students in another one of the “Gun Free School Zones” that their laws have created. This stance makes it perfectly clear that reduced violence isn’t their goal, increased control is.

President Assad Orders Commanders to Target Israel, US Interests “If Assassinated”

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has ordered his army commanders to target Israel and the US interests in the Middle East region in case he is assassinated by the terrorists, informed sources said on Monday.

President Assad’s remarks came after he attended several meetings with his senior commanders, and discussed the country’s security situation with them, the Algerian Al-Shorouq Oline newspaper quoted informed sources close to the Syrian government as saying on Monday.

In the meetings presided by President Assad, Syria’s top army commanders told him that “the foreign hostile states will strive to assassinate him instead of launching a military attack on Syria”.

According to the report, a Persian translation of which was released by the Iranian students news agency, the Syrian army commanders have told the President that the spy agencies of certain western states and Syria’s neighboring countries have smuggled hi-tech missiles into Syria to provide armed rebels and terrorist groups with a chance to target President Assad’s likely residence.

In response, President Assad has ordered his military commanders to target Israel and the US positions in the region, specially in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, if the western states succeed in assassinating him.

It Begins: Bundesbank To Commence Repatriating Gold From New York Fed

In what could be a watershed moment for the price, provenance, and future of physical gold, not to mention the “stability” of the entire monetary regime based on rock solid, undisputed “faith and credit” in paper money, German Handelsblatt reports in an exclusive that the long suffering German gold, all official 3,396 tons of it, is about to be moved. Specifically, it is about to be partially moved out of the New York Fed, where the majority, or 45% of it is currently stored, as well as the entirety of the 11% of German gold held with the Banque de France, and repatriated back home to Buba in Frankfurt, where just 31% of it is held as of this moment. And while it is one thing for a “crazy, lunatic” dictator such as Hugo Chavez to pull his gold out of the Bank of England, it is something entirely different, and far less dismissible, when the bank with the second most official gold reserves in the world proceeds to formally pull some of its gold from the bank with the most. In brief: this is a momentous development, one which may signify that the regime of mutual assured and very much telegraphed – because if the central banks don’t have faith in one another, why should anyone else? – trust in central banks by other central banks is ending.

Much more importantly, it is being telegraphed as such, with Buba fully aware of just what the consequences of this (first partial, and then full; and certainly full vis-a-vis the nouveau socialist regime of Francois Hollande which will soon hold zero German gold) repatriation will be in a global monetary arena, which is already scraping by on the last traces of faith in a monetary system that is slowly but surely dying but first diluting itself to oblivion. And in simple game theory terms, the first party to defect from the prisoner’s dilemma of all the bulk of global gold being held by the Fed, defects best. Then the second. Then the third. Until, in this particular case, the last central bank to pull its gold from the NY Fed and the other 2 primary depositories of developed world gold, London and Paris, just happens to discover their gold was never there to begin with, and instead served as collateral to paper gold subsequently rehypothecated several hundred times, and whose ultimate ownership deed is long gone.

It would be very ironic, if the Bundesbank, which many had assumed had bent over backwards to accommodate Mario Draghi’s Goldmanesque demands to allow implicit monetization of peripheral nations’ debts has just “returned the favor” by launching the greatest physical gold scramble of all time.

No Quarter Will Be Given

Some are calling me crazy, dangerous, or worse, as a result of my recent posts [here and here].  Well, opinions be damned, for we are in need of the truth!  What I have written since the new year is nothing new – I have been abundantly clear over the past two years about what we face.  I am a Citizen Soldier of my Republic, and I know what duty demands of me.  As part of that duty, I have been vigorously ringing the alarm bell for some time, in the hopes that we might turn the tide without violence, or at least that none of my fellow countrymen might be lost due to ignorance.

Deadly Quiet Conversations – T.L. Davis

TLDavisThere are conversations taking place all over America. They are not being screamed from the mountain tops, they are being whispered from one end of the nation to the other.

The Marxists have decided that Sandy Hook Elementary is a good enough reason to go ahead with the gun confiscation model used by totalitarian governments the world over. Senators, Governors, Representatives and the President have all come out to warn us that they are coming. How they come and how hard are the only questions left to be answered. We know who is proposing gun confiscation, or registration in preparation for confiscation. They are not shy about it with the media behind them, encouraging their treasonous acts.

What they don’t hear is a hue and a cry about it from the average citizen. This is largely their reason for their bold announcements. But in the corners of the nation men are preparing their wives and families for the day they don’t come home. Brothers are making plans to resist on familiar ground. Cops are talking to neighbors and each other. Servicemen and women are talking amongst themselves in lowered tones. Sheriffs and their deputies are talking, making plans and calculations as to when to draw that hard line.
