Prosecutors, regulators close to making Libor arrests

The letter ''B'' of the signage on the Barclays headquarters in Canary Wharf is hoisted up the side of the building in London July 20, 2012. REUTERS/Simon Newman(Reuters) – Prosecutors and European regulators are close to arresting individual traders and charging them with colluding to manipulate global benchmark interest rates, according to people familiar with a sweeping investigation into the rigging scandal.

Federal prosecutors in Washington, D.C., have recently contacted lawyers representing some of the suspects to notify them that criminal charges and arrests could be imminent, said two of those sources, who asked not to be identified because the investigation is ongoing.

Defense lawyers, some of whom represent suspects, said prosecutors have indicated they plan to begin making arrests and filing criminal charges in the next few weeks. In long-running financial investigations it is not uncommon for prosecutors to contact defense lawyers before filing charges to offer suspects a chance to cooperate or take a plea, these lawyers said.

The prospect of charges and arrests means prosecutors are getting a fuller picture of how traders at major banks allegedly sought to influence the London Interbank Offered Rate, or Libor, and other global rates that underpin hundreds of trillions of dollars in assets. The criminal charges would come alongside efforts by regulators to five major banks, and could show that the alleged activity was not rampant at the lenders.

Two hours for Syrian chemical weapons to reach Lebanon. Four armies prepared

Syrian WMD-capable missilesThe IDF, the Turkish and Jordanian armies and US Middle East forces have switched to preparedness mode in the last few hours in case the Syrian chemical weapons arsenal starts moving west toward Lebanon, DEBKAfile’s military sources report. Acting in unison, those armies are on the ready for instantaneous action because it would take no more than two hours to cover the distance from Syria to the Hizballah-controlled Bakaa Valley of east Lebanon. Their arrival there, unless thwarted, would mean a war on Hizballah.

Therefore Israeli and US military chiefs prefer to stop the arsenal in its tracks before it moves across the border. This would call for surgically precise, rapid action against a target going to extreme lengths to stay concealed.

In the view of a senior US military source quoted by DEBKAfile, the risk is solid but it comes from a different direction. He stressed that “President Assad has not decided to hand over his chemical weapons to Hizballah, nor has Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah decided to accept them.”

The chemical stockpile is kept at the al-Safira base northwest of Damascus in the care of the president’s personal guard unit which takes orders from Bashar Assad and no one else. If the heads of that guard saw the regime suddenly collapse – as it was expected to do last Wednesday when assassins murdered the men closest to the president – the American official says, “It is impossible to predict how they will act or what use they will make of the weapons systems under their guard.”

“They may decide to sneak out of Syria to Lebanon and take with them the entire arsenal as insurance for their safety and future,” he suggested.

False-Flag: Aurora – Building Their Case for Confiscation…

At this point I’m certainly not the first, but I will step up and call this atrocity what it is – the Aurora Theatre shooting was a false-flag attack by the progressive left.  Their desired end-game is confiscation of privately held firearms.  Period. That this comes less than a week before Obama’s anticipated signing of the UN’s “Arms Trade Treaty” in NY is a blatant act of terrorism, for the purely political purpose of stirring support for such an abrogation of civil rights and US sovereignty by a thoroughly traitorous administration.

The speed with which the leftist media seized upon the story with carefully chosen, agenda-supporting “details” offers plenty of substantiation to my assertion.  That a number of these “details” have already been proven false is the first proof that this was not an accident, but a willful and bloody contrivance by TPTB.  Now the facts are beginning to surface that this was a well funded, well orchestrated, and technically advanced operation, and there is no doubt that this was not the work of  “a lone gunman” – it will take its place as the latest ‘conspiracy theory’ that is far more than a theory.

I will say it, and I don’t care if the traitorous ba$t@rds come knock on my door – Put the Aurora attack on the same shelf as Brian Terry’s murder, the Giffords shooting, the Ft. Hood attack, Waco, Ruby Ridge, and Oklahoma City, and see the collection of “reasons to support gun control” being farmed like a death-crop by the leftist anti-gun underground in our country, plain and simple.  Fast and Furious didn’t work, so they need a new “vehicle” to stir public sentiment against our well-established rights and freedoms “at a critical juncture” such as the present push for the UN Arms Ban.  I expect that Aurora will not be the last incident of violence against our citizens this summer, assuming Obama signs this blatant constitutional violation, as there will be plenty of debate to be had before the Seanate votes on its ratification.

Assad rebuilds fighting command, retaliates against Turkey

Syrian tanks in DamascusPresident Bashar Assad quickly recovered from the blow he suffered with the loss of his four top allies last Wednesday, July 18. Within 24 hours, he had put in place a new command for fighting the rebels headed by his younger brother Gen. Maher Assad, commander of the 4th Division, DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources report exclusively. He also appointed Gen. Ali Mamloukh to head the General Security Service; Gen. Hafez Makhlouf, military commander of Damascus; and Gen. Ali Hassan, new chief of the Alawite Shabiha militia.

Gen. Fahad Jassim al-Freij was sworn in as Defense Minister Thursday.

Despite a wave of desertions, the Syrian army was soon back on the job, showing no signs of shock or wavering at the command level.

Within 48 hours the army had driven the rebels out of the Maidan district of Damascus. And while some media focused on the rebels’ capture of two Syrian-Iraqi crossings Saturday, our sources report that Assad and his new command had already moved on and were busy with a tactical move in retaliation against Turkey for the assassinations at the top of Assad’s inner circle: They opened the door to an influx of rebels of the Turkish PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) from Iraq into Syria’s northern Kurdish regions, with permission to set up bases of operation along the Turkish border.

This step had three immediate consequences: Continue reading

The Washington Trials

Is now the time for all good men and women to realize that the future is in our hands? Not the hands of politicians whose ambition and greed have bankrupted our nation and enslaved our children. It is in our hands as given to us at the founding of our nation. I purposely did not say the United States since our nation was founded on natural law and Sacred honor first; then the Articles of Confederation and finally the Constitution which gives us our current system of government.

Or does it?

After watching the video below, I can only surmise that Janet Napolitano is guilty of treason. Her indignation at allowing confidential information to be compromised without repercussions is matched only by her arrogance.

Does anyone feel that the Department of Homeland Security has the safety of the American people as their true mission? Let’s consider asking how secure the people in Arizona currently feel based on their punishment for trying to enforce federal laws.  Napolitano’s “testimony” supports an agenda shared by the Muslim Brotherhood, not our national security. Shakespeare’s Hamlet has an excellent phrase for her testimony: Continue reading

If you watch all my videos, although down to my very first one, I have always predicted a stock market crash prior to hyperinflation which is a currency crisis. Don’t think about printing when you think about hyperinflation, think about a loss of faith in the system itself.

Syria: the real situation (according to Pravda)

Syria: the real situation. 47568.jpeg

Letter from First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Arab Republic of Syria, Walid Al Moallem, to Kofi Anan, UN Special Envoy. In this letter, the truth about Syria is explained, a truth that is radically different from the nonsense fueling the FUKUS* Axis’  (FUKUS Axis = France, UK and US) belligerence.

Mr. Kofi Anan
UN Special Envoy

Dear Sir,

I read your letter, dated 13/07/2012, addressed to the Secretary General of the United Nations, in which you refer to the tragic reports from the village of Al Tremseh, near Hama and the use of guns, tanks and helicopters by part of the Syrian Government. I regret that you should have based your position on a single source of information and one which is inaccurate.

I hoped you would verify reports from the Syrian Government before adopting them, so you could see the truth of the facts, noting that once we attended to the request of the observer mission to visit Al Tremseh the visit was, in fact, held on a date set by them, on 14/07/2012. What happened in the village of Al Tremseh near Hama, is that dozens of members of armed terrorist groups invaded the village and settled there, terrorizing the civilian residents and creating a command headquarters, weapons depots and places of torture of hostages, attacking more than one point of the security forces concentrated on the outskirts of the village, which required a response from the security forces at 5:00 in the morning of Thursday, 12/07/2012.

Food For Thought

See if this makes sense to you with all that has been happening over the years in our country. Then ask, “What should we do about it?”

COLORADO BATMAN SHOOTING SHOWS OBVIOUS SIGNS OF BEING STAGED

As part of the attack, Holmes painted his hair red and referred to himself as “The Joker,” one of the arch enemies in the DC Comics-inspired Batman movie series. (http://abcnews.go.com/US/mass-shooting-colorado-movie-theater-14-people-dead/story?id=16817842)

According to news reports, this sudden violent rampage was completely out of character for James Holmes, who was described as “shy.”

The New York Times is now reporting:

Billy Kromka, a pre-med student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, worked with Mr. Holmes for three months last summer as a research assistant in a lab of at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Mr. Kromka said he was surprised to learn Mr. Holmes was the shooting suspect. “It was just shocking, because there was no way I thought he could have the capacity to do commit an atrocity like this,” he said. (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/21/us/colorado-mall-shooting.html)

“He spent much of his time immersed in the computer, often participating in role-playing online games…”

There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three).

Barak: Israel may seize advanced weapons in Syria

IDF's Givati Brigade excercise

Israel is preparing for a possible military intervention in Syria in case the Syrian government hands missiles or chemical weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Friday.

“I have instructed the military to increase its intelligence preparations and prepare what is needed so that … (if necessary) … we will be able to consider carrying out an operation,” Barak said in an interview on Channel 10 television.

“We are following … the possible transfer of advanced munitions systems, mainly anti-aircraft missiles or heavy ground-to-ground missiles, but there could also be a possibility of the transfer of chemical means (weapons) from Syria to Lebanon,” he added.

“The moment (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad) starts to fall we will conduct intelligence monitoring and will liaise with other agencies,” Barak said.

Scandal At The IMF: Senior Economist Resigns, Says “Ashamed To Have Had Any Association With Fund At All”

The rats everywhere are now jumping furiously off the titanic, but few had taken the time to write a letter explaining in detail just how cracked and broken the hull really was. This has now changed, with the departure of Peter Doyle, formerly a division chief in the IMF’s European Department responsible for non-crisis countries and currently an adviser to the Fund. Not content with quietly slinking off the scandal ridden organization which has become the butt of all jokes in the international community, where humor about Lagarde’s Louis Vuitton panhandling bag is as pervasive as punchlines about just how incompetent the organization is at actually doing its duty, Doyle has penned the following scathing letter which tears down every myth about the IMF: from its impartiality, to the selection process of its head, to its effectiveness. The letter also contains the following gem:

After twenty years of service, I am ashamed to have had any association with the Fund at all.

Pretty much says it all. This is a scandal in the making, and one which may shake to the core the credibility of the IMF in the context of international organization.

Was there an assassination attempt on Hillary Clinton in Israel?

Washington, July 20 (ANI): Was there an assassination attempt on U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton while she was on an official visit to Israel.

According to Israel Radio and Reuters, there was.

Israel Radio broke the story earlier in the week, which was confirmed by sources inside Israel, but never mentioned again.

According to World Mathaba, the purported attack on Clinton was related to the current political upheaval in Israel-the aim being kill Clinton, blame Iran and take the focus off the domestic political meltdown in Tel Aviv.

According to sources, the attack on Clinton’s convoy, a minimum of three to five vehicles, traveling from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, follows the story earlier of an attack on a bus loaded with Israeli tourists that exploded in Bulgaria, which killed six persons.

According to World Mathaba, both the Bulgaria attack and the attempted assassination of Clinton was a Mossad “false flag” operation.

There are dozens of Mossad agents operating in Bulgaria, which still has in place massive Soviet era security services that follow all tourists.

Coincidentally, the attack on Clinton took place within hours of her supporting Israel regarding the Bulgarian attack, it said.

Normal security procedures should have prevented any vehicle on open regions from coming within 200 meters of Clinton, it added. (ANI)

ANTI-ISRAEL BOMBER IN BULGARIA WAS RELEASED FROM GITMO THANKS TO LEFT

Leftists who hate Israel can rejoice; their efforts at securing the release of a Gitmo detainee and their subsequent lionizing of him allowed him to murder five Israelis in the bombing Wednesday in Burgas, Bulgarian. The bomber has been identified as Mehdi Ghezali, who was detained at Gitmo Bay in Cuba from 2002 to 2004.

According to Wikileaks documents, Ghazali was “uncooperative, unforthcoming and deceptive during interrogations.” His father had met with Abdolrahman Barzanjee, an Al Qaeda associate and possible Ansar Al-Islam coordinator for Europe (Ansar Al-Islam is a group of Sunni Muslims trying to turn Iraq into an Islamist state), and Ghazali was friends with a Swedish operative who was a close associate of Abu Zubadayah, a high-ranking official with Al Qaeda.

Ghazali, who was a Swedish citizen, was visited by members of the Swedish government frequently while he was in custody at Gitmo, and the Swedish media played up his incarceration. While Ghezali was detained at Gitmo, he was featured in the documentary Gitmo – The New Rules of War, a film that savaged Guantanamo Bay detention camp by film directors Erik Gandini and Tarik Saleh.

In February of 2004, Ghazali was reassessed and regarded as an enemy combatant who had gone to Afghanistan to support the Taliban, but although Gitmo concluded that he was a “medium risk, as he may possibly pose a threat to the US its interests and allies,” the decision to release him to Sweden followed: “Recommendation: JTF Gitmo recommends that this detainee be transferred to the control of another country for continued detention.”

Syrian Army Restores Security in Capital?

Syrian Army Restores Security in Capital – According to Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army managed to reestablish security in the capital city of Damascus on Friday after it cleaned restive Midan neighborhood of terrorist rebels.

The Syrian state television reported that the country’s army has cleaned Midan area of Damascus of terrorist groups.

“Army forces have completely cleaned the area of Midan in Damascus of the remaining mercenary terrorists and have reestablished security,” the state television said.

The development came two days after an explosion inside the Syrian national security headquarters in Damascus targeted ministers from President Bashar al-Assad’s government who were meeting with defense officials on Wednesday, killing three of the most senior members of President Assad’s inner circle, including his brother-in-law.

The Syrian Army said Defense Minister and his deputy, Asef Shawkat, were both killed in the explosion. Shawkat, Assad’s brother-in-law, also held the title of deputy chief of staff.

According to Syrian TV, former Defense Minister Hassan Turkmani, who headed Assad’s ‘crisis cell’ that coordinated the government’s response to the 16-month uprising, was also killed in the blast.

Other ministers and military officials were seriously wounded in the explosion, according to state media.

Syrian State TV reported that Interior Minister Mohammed al-Shaar and National Security Department head Major General Hisham Ikhtiar sustained injuries.

Meantime, latest reports said on Friday that Ikhtiyar has died of explosion wounds.
