(Toronto Sun) MEXICO CITY — Fourteen dismembered bodies were found in a truck in the centre of a town in northern Mexico on Thursday in what appeared to be the latest atrocity committed by rival gangs battling over drug-smuggling routes, local media said.

The bodies of 11 men and three women were discovered in the sugar-cane farming town of Ciudad Mante in the south of Tamaulipas state, which borders on Texas, daily Milenio reported on its website.

Officials at the state attorney general’s office could not immediately confirm the report. Tamaulipas has been one of the bloodiest battlegrounds in Mexico’s drug war.

More than 55,000 people, including police, judges, and reporters have been killed in the conflict since President Felipe Calderon sent in the army to fight drug gangs shortly after he took office in December 2006. Continue reading →

The White House Secret Kill List – Chuck Baldwin

In a recent column posted on LewRockwell.com, Judge Andrew Napolitano highlighted a recent New York Times investigative report that reveals how President Barack Obama is engaging in secret assassinations worldwide. Judge Napolitano begins, “The leader of the government regularly sits down with his senior generals and spies and advisers and reviews a list of the people they want him to authorize their agents to kill. They do this every Tuesday morning when the leader is in town. The leader once condemned any practice even close to this, but now relishes the killing because he has convinced himself that it is a sane and sterile way to keep his country safe and himself in power. The leader, who is running for re-election, even invited his campaign manager to join the group that decides whom to kill.

The judge concludes, “Since 9/11, the United States government has set up national security systems that function not under the Constitution, not under the Geneva Conventions, not under the rule of law, not under the rules of war, not under federal law, but under a new secret system crafted by the Bush administration and personally directed by Obama, the same Obama who condemned these rules as senator and then extended them as president. In the name of fighting demons in pick-up trucks and wars that Congress has never declared, the government shreds our rights, taps our cellphones, reads our emails, kills innocents abroad, strip searches 87-year-old grandmothers in wheelchairs and 3-year-old babies in their mothers’ arms, and offers secrecy when the law requires accountability.

“Obama has argued that his careful consideration of each person he orders killed and the narrow use of deadly force are an adequate and constitutional substitute for due process. The Constitution provides for no such thing. He has also argued that the use of drones to do his killing is humane since they are ‘surgical’ and only kill their targets. We know that is incorrect. And he has argued that these killings are consistent with our values. What is he talking about? The essence of our values is the rule of law, not the rule of presidents.”

And ladies and gentlemen, this is why electing Mitt Romney will change nothing! The same Orwellian, big-government internationalists who are manipulating Barack Obama, and who manipulated G.W. Bush (and Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush) are manipulating Mitt Romney. Ever since President Ronald Reagan, it hasn’t mattered to a tinker’s dam whether a Republican or Democrat has been in the White House. As Sonny and Cher sang, “The Beat Goes On.” For all intents and purposes, America only has one party at the national level. Pat Buchanan was right when he said that the Elephants and Donkeys inside the Beltway were “two wings of the same bird of prey.”

Fitch cut the credit rating of Spain three notches today to BBB. Its negative outlook for the country means that future downgrades are expected. Germany is holding the key to Spain’s immediate future but the amount of debt owed by Spanish banks is not even known. The bank audits will not be complete under September so how can the EU Merkel be “ready to act”? As the dominoes start to fall, England’s announcement today that they will not participate in this plan to save the Euro should be the death knell for the Eurozone. Interesting times as the consequences will be felt here as the EU collapse is underway.

Merkel says EU ready to act as Spain downgraded

(Reuters) – Chancellor Angela Merkel said Europe was ready to act to ensure stability in the euro zone as Spain’s credit rating was cut by three notches on Thursday amid expectations it may soon seek EU help for banks beset by bad debts.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said he would wait for the results of independent audits of the banking system before talking with Europe about how to recapitalize troubled lenders.

An International Monetary Fund report due out next Monday is expected to show Spanish banks need at least 40 billion euros ($50 billion), financial sector sources said.

Without waiting for a widely expected EU rescue, credit ratings agency Fitch cut Spain’s sovereign rating to BBB from A with a negative outlook, saying Madrid was especially vulnerable to a worsening of the euro zone debt crisis.

Fitch estimated Spanish lenders need 50 to 60 billion euros in capital under their updated base case. However, the total fiscal cost to underpin the banks could rise as high as 100 billion euros or 9 percent of gross domestic product in a more extreme scenario similar to Ireland’s bank meltdown, it said. Carteret County Republican activist Jessica Hult had an eye-opening experience as a delegate to the recent NCGOP convention in Greensboro:

“I’ve been a delegate to the state convention a number of times.  I’ve been to the national convention. I’ve NEVER had anyone talk to — or treat me — like this.  NEVER.  They were bullies, and nobody likes bullies.”

The Haymaker caught up with the still-shaken Hult by telephone Wednesday evening.  She said her phone has been ringing off the hook with party activists — and a number of attorneys — offering support and assistance.

The episode in question began last Saturday at the Greensboro convention.  Hult said she was distributing stacks of  THESE FLIERS  to individuals who were planning to pass them out to convention-goers as they left the convention hall:

“My first indication that something was up was when I heard someone shouting: ‘There she is! There she is!‘   I looked over to see two guys in suits hurrying over toward me.  I didn’t recognize the two men until they got close and I saw their name tags.” Continue reading →

Britain will not participate in the latest “fix” to the European Economic collapse – an EU banking union. He effectively outlines his reasons below and it is his responsibility to protect the people he represents. Now if only we could get Ben Bernanke and Tim Geithner to understand that the united States is not subservient to the Rothschilds. The consequences of taking responsibility for past fiscal actions will be severe with the distinct possibility of a world wide depression. Or the realization that we are already in a depression that has been covered over by printing presses.

Inside Syria: You will never guess who arms the rebels

JABAL AL-ZAWIYA, Syria — At the Free Syrian Army base here, a group of men led a nervous prisoner from his cell to a car waiting outside. A few hours later, the rebels returned alone, with a trunkload of weapons.

As they loaded the store room with new bullets and rocket-propelled grenades, Hamza Fatahallah, an army defector who joined the Free Syrian Army nine months ago, described the transaction that had taken place.

“We have caught many army prisoners,” he said. “We send them back home for a small amount of money on the condition they do not return to the regime. We use the money to buy weapons.”

For the release of this prisoner, Ahmed Haseeba, the group received $500. With this money, Fatahallah said they were able to buy ammunition from their main supplier: Syria’s national army, also known as the enemy.

This strange cycle of exchanging prisoners for weapons has been playing out between rebel forces and President Bashar al-Assad’s army since the beginning of the revolution.

Fatahallah estimated that his village purchased 40 percent of their weapons from the regime. Prisoner exchanges have so far contributed almost $80,000 toward weapons purchases, he said. And they obtain an additional 50 percent of their weapons during battle. The remaining 10 percent are donated and smuggled from outside the country, or are purchased from private merchants, mostly from Iraq.

Occasionally, prisoners are also exchanged directly for weapons, Fatahallah said. They have received up to two Kalashnikov rifles in exchange for a prisoner in the past.

For the regime, or at least the duplicitous members of it, supplying the enemy is a big business. Government officers also sell Kalashnikov bullets, which typically sold for less than 40 cents before the uprising, for about $4 each, according to Ahmed Al Sheikh, the leader of the armed opposition in Jabal al-Zawiya. He leads about 6,000 men from eight battalions that are collectively known as the Sham Falcons.

Ron Paul’s delegates to have significant presence at Republican convention

Ron Paul suspends campaign

Paul campaign expects to place 500 supporters on the delegate floor at the Republican national convention in Tampa.

Texas congressman Ron Paul has claimed that he will have the support of some 500 delegates at the Republican national convention in Tampa this summer, and has vowed to make their presence felt.

Though the libertarian-leaning Paul has not won a single popular ballot in the 2012 Republican nomination process, his campaign has dedicated itself to a “delegate strategy” whereby supporters exploit arcane party rules to secure Tampa delegate slots, often in proportions far above the amount of people who actually voted for Paul.

Now Paul’s campaign has stated that the strategy has paid off to such a large extent that it will bring almost 200 delegates to Tampa who are so-called “bound” delegates – who can vote for Paul – and perhaps 300 others who are bound to vote for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney but are in fact Paul supporters.

“When it is all said and done, we will likely have as many as 500 supporters on the convention floor. That is just over 20 percent!” Paul said in an email to supporters. “And while this total is not enough to win the nomination, it puts us in a tremendous position to grow our movement and shape the future of the GOP,” he added.

Paul’s campaign has notched up some major successes with its delegate strategy. The campaign has said it expected to get 20 delegates from Maine out of a total of 24, and in Nevada it has claimed its supporters now accounted for 22 of 28 delegates being sent to Tampa. Paul won neither state’s caucus vote.

But in some states the strategy has caused major problems. In Louisiana, tensions between the Paul and Romney camps spilled over into a public dispute last weekend that saw duelling state conventions in the city of Shreveport being held in the same room. Police were eventually called amid physical scuffles.

Chaos on the streets of Syria as shells rain down on Homs town

Footage from Dubai-based broadcaster Al-Arabiya shows chaos on the streets of Talbiseh in Homs as it is bombarded by shelling.

In footage apparently shot by the broadcaster, residents are seen fleeing a heavy bombardment in the town in the Homs governorate.

Homs has been a focal point of the uprising against Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and endured a bloody siege for weeks earlier this year.

U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan declared a ceasefire in Syria on April 12 as part of a six-point peace plan which won wide international support, but failed to halt the bloodshed.

House seeks to soften voter ID bill as Tillis addresses concerns about GOP agenda
“The compromise measure being negotiated would allow voters to show a broad range of documents to prove identity, including bank statements, utility bills or any government documents with name and address. Voters without such documents would be required to show that their signature matched their voter registration form.”

We have a problem folks! NC House Speaker Thom Tillis is trying to weaken HB351, the Voter ID bill. He wants to include numerous documents allowable to prove who you are. What’s the point of passing something other than what was originally intended? He is caving in to the NC Chamber of Commerce and the Farmers Association to get reelection campaign monies. He is selling out NC citizens for a buck! Tell him NO!!!!!

Obama Hands Syria Over to Russia and Iran

Why would Obama hand Syria over to Russia and Iran? Without any recompense? The answer is simple: Obama backed the Muslim Brotherhood in the Syrian Civil War. The establishment of a new Islamic Caliphate is one of the president’s top objectives: just ask Israel. The problem was that Al Qaeda infiltrated the rebels and were poised to take control of Syria’s massive stores of weapons of mass destruction. The national security fiasco that this would cause in an election year made Obama very flexible. So flexible that Putin is one very happy comrade. As for Israel, not so much.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is currently being taken to the woodshed in Turkey by Putin’s newest flunky ally: Erdogan.

Republicans Trying to Kill Restaurant Carry?

Plans to send HB 111 to Finance Committee rather than floor.

Could it be that the Republicans who purport to serve you in the NC Senate are more concerned about polls than about your safety in restaurants? It would appear so, in fact so much so that they appear to be playing word games about the fate of HB 111.

Here is the story… A short time ago, folks from the office of Senate President Pro-Tem Phil Berger promised GRNC President Paul Valone that HB 111 would get a hearing in the Senate Judiciary II Committee. This would seem to indicate that it would next be headed to the Senate floor for a vote. BUT HOLD ON… NOT SO FAST! It appears they wish to play both sides of the board. Rather than planning to pass it out to the floor, GRNC has learned that Senate J-II Committee plans to pass it on to the Finance Committee. Now the first reaction among GRNC staff is that Finance would simply be a place where they might be sending HB 111 to die. Continue reading →
