GE annual meeting interrupted by 99 Percent protesters

Nearly 100 protesters affiliated with the “99 Percent” populist movement disrupted General Electric Co’s annual shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday in an attack on the largest U.S. conglomerate’s low tax rate.

The demonstrators, who began chanting “Pay Your Fair Share” when the meeting began, were quickly ushered out of the meeting — held in the Detroit building that houses General Motors Co’s headquarters — but could still be heard chanting protests as the meeting got underway.

Sen. Blumenthal’s Pressing Request to Janet Napolitano

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRNImUlMbTc

I watched the Senate hearing this morning with Janet Napolitano. I had expected the questioning to revolve around the secret service scandal in Cartegena. Instead, I had to endure praise of Ms. Napolitano and the DHS. There were a few questions concerning immigration and TSA but as usual, no cogent answers were given. The above video was representative of the type of questioning by our “senators”. Sorry but I don’t care about the immigration status of a “same-sex” couple where one is not a legal citizen of the United States. I do care about the security breach in Colombia and the subsequent coverup by the government.

We were warned that we receive the government that we deserve. This is an excellent example of our progressive government in action.

Student loan showdown: Van Jones Latest Crisis Not to Be Wasted

The latest crisis according to Van Jones.

Rebuild the Dream
Student loan debt in America is more than one trillion dollars — in fact, student debt is now even greater than credit card debt in America. It gets worse: If Congress doesn’t act by July 1, interest rates on student loans will double for millions of families.

When we started campaigning on this impending crisis in February, we knew it was an uphill battle. President Obama had said very little, Mitt Romney had said even less, and we certainly didn’t trust Congress to take money out of lenders’ pockets, even if doing so would be good for the economy.

But yesterday, President Obama made this issue a major priority in his campaign, and — even more amazingly — Mitt Romney said he agreed. “Michelle and I … only finished paying off our student loans about eight years ago,” President Obama said yesterday. “We’re supposed to be saving up for [our daughters’] college educations, and we’re still paying off our college education.”

You are worthy of MY praise

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEcWkt7rxrg

From Ann Barnhardt:

Finally, the insipid narcissim of “Contemporary Christian / Praise and Worship” music. If this is what you pump into your spirit, I can see why this is a nation of braindead, self-absorbed cowards. “You are worthy of MY praise.” I’m sure God Almighty is very relieved to know that He is WORTHY of YOUR praise. Considering that He is perfect Goodness, Beauty, Truth and Love, and you are a miserable tick of a sinner, I’m glad to know the He is WORTHY of YOUR praise. Puke. There are more first person pronouns in this pablum than in an Obama speech, and that’s saying something. Hurl.

And I thought I was the only one who thought this when I heard it in Church last year in Raleigh. Narcissism in our government is seen everyday: is it any wonder that our churches follow their example? Isn’t that the point? Once the government controls and diminishes our churches, they replace God with “someone who is worthy of our praise”. Can you see it?

John Boehner: ‘We may never recover’

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation (and they are not too kind to the Speaker).

House Speaker John Boehner said in a stark warning Tuesday that if President Barack Obama wins reelection, the American economy may “never recover.”

“The president’s economic policies have failed – I would argue they actually made things worse. And as a result, the president has turned to the politics of envy and division. This is not in my opinion the right way to run for reelection,” Boehner said on Fox News. “America can’t live for four more years with Barack Obama as president. His policies will turn America in a direction that we may never recover from.”

A message to Speaker Boehner:

You are stating the obvious. Any American who loves this country and what it represents, realized this fact three years ago. We marched in the streets. We surrounded the Capitol in Washington. And you. You did nothing as our nation’s economy deteriorated and our debt exploded. Obama was able to expedite the progressive agenda but you were just as complicit as you used his usurpation for election issues.

Is Eric Holder Trying to Incite Riots?

The state of Florida has been the focus of racial tension for the past month. Why would Eric Holder decide to file a racial discrimination case against Jacksonville, FL now? How will the American people regain any trust in the Department of Injustice after his reign?

Washington sues Florida city over firefighter tests

The Justice Department sued the city of Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday, claiming its use of written tests to determine promotions in the city’s fire department discriminates against African-Americans.

The lawsuit followed a more than two-year investigation examining Jacksonville’s record of promoting African-Americans for the ranks of lieutenant, captain, district chief and engineer dating back to 2004.

Secretary of State vs. Secretary of Defense

The two articles below clearly show how the administration’s foreign policy is compromised by incompetence in his cabinet and his “leadership”. As the country moves into even more critical times, I find myself hoping that our military will not let our country be destroyed by this pretender-in-chief.

Map of Domestic Drone Authorizations – Can ANYBODY Count?

The red flags in the map above are “Active” drone sites in the United States. The actual number is 39 sites if you bother to count them. However the following news services cannot even bother to count the number of active sites in their reporting:

  1. Drudge
  2. The Blaze
  3. Business Insider
  4. Daily Mail
Even if you count the number of “Expired” flags, the number is 55. Adding the “Disapproved” would bring the total to 59.
Should this report still be a cause of concern? If you answered “yes” (I did), then you must understand that fear of the government is tyranny. If you think that our freedom in the United States is real, look again at this map, then think about the 450 million rounds of 40 cal hollow point that are not legal under the Hague Convention that all NATO countries follow. Of course, that did not stop the government from using CS gas at Waco which is banned under the Geneva Convention.

Why Are Central Banks Buying Gold?

Why are central banks buying gold? A simple question with a simple answer:

Central banks are expanding reserves due to concerns about the dollar, euro, sterling and all fiat currencies.

There is an increasing realisation amongst central bankers that gold is a less risky alternative to most paper currencies and a recent survey showed that the majority of central bank reserves managers were favourable towards gold.

If we accept the above reason for the increased demand for gold, we then have two issues to address: Continue reading

Update: Bank Of Greece: 2012 GDP Drop Worse Than Expected

From Deutsche-Boerse:

ATHENS (MNI) – Greece is facing yet another year of sharp recession with GDP expected to contract by as much as 5% in 2012, higher than previously forecast, the Bank of Greece said in a report released today. The central bank said the recession would weigh on the ability of Athens to meet its fiscal targets. The forecast is being revised only three weeks after the central bank’s monetary policy report had said the economy would contract by 4.5% this year. Greece has been in recession since 2008, and its GDP contracted by a debilitating 6.9% last year.

Assad Needs to Read “The Art of War” Quickly: His Army Is Starving

One of the first rules to maintain power as outlined in “The Art of War” is to ensure that your soldiers are well fed.

“The general must be first in the toils and fatigues of the army. In the heat of summer he does not spread his parasol, nor in the cold of winter don thick clothing … . He waits until the army’s wells have been dug and only then drinks; until the army’s food is cooked before he eats; until the army’s fortifications have been completed, to shelter himself.”

The situation in Syria must be worse than what is being reported if the military is deserting. Russia will not accept losing their naval base at Tartus and Iran will not accept losing this ally so close to Israel. At least the waiting is almost over.

Eurozone Crash, Dutch Government Collapse, Czech on the Verge of Collapse and Russian Stock Market Halted

Dutch government collapses over debt woes

The Dutch government, one of the most vocal critics of European countries failing to rein in their budgets, quit Monday after failing to agree on a plan to bring its own deficit in line with EU rules.

Queen Beatrix‘s office said she had accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte and his Cabinet after Rutte informed her talks on a new austerity package collapsed over the weekend.

Rutte is to debate with parliament Tuesday on whether and how his caretaker government can still improve the budget, and when to schedule new elections. No date was immediately announced, but opposition lawmakers called for a vote in late June.
