Just because there is a sewing machine in my house doesn’t mean I think any of my family members can sit down and sew a dress. The same goes with your ham radio. If you are one of those folks who bought one for when the SHTF thinking you will be able to just set it up and use it, you might be unpleasantly surprised. Why not make sure you have a ham radio license and become proficient with your radio? It’s probably a good idea to dust it off anyway and make sure it is still working. Some have internal RAM chips that die after so many years (ICOM 745 and 751A) and should be upgraded internally.
There are many good reasons to get your ham radio license now for the practice and camaraderie you can enjoy now before the SHTF. As a ham radio operator, I have had a lot to learn even after getting the license, including which equipment to acquire and radio and antennae set up. Despite fears of losing OPSEC, there are ways to manage location issues and I think the benefits of practice now far outweigh OPSEC risks.
As outlined in Martyrs of Unity, the United States should be looking at Iran’s treaties in the upcoming war. President Ahmadinejad is in Latin American to secure commitments and treaties with Iran.
What is our president doing? Cutting the military and pandering to illegal aliens. Is it any wonder that gun sales in the United States are at all time records?

Coming out of the 1950’s, with Democratic control of both the White House and the Congress, the left controlled the political debate. This assured the passage of major changes in U.S. immigration policy. Motivating these changes in policy was the predominant idea amongst alienated intellectuals of the1960’s: multiculturalism.
The cultural component of the progressive movement (a reform minded movement from the far left of the Republican Party that helped motivate a more activist government) which gained prominence in the 1950’s, was focused on the enlightened citizen as a means to change a culture and then a society. Progressives emphasized diversity as the path to becoming an enlightened citizen, a “citizen of the world.” This group of alienated intellectuals spoke of entitlement and accommodation, non-discrimination and group interest, rights over responsibility. It was the beginning of the diversity movement, political correctness, and identity politics in America.
Iran is expanding its military show of strength by holding ground exercises near the Afghanistan border. The naval exercises in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz will be extended and now it seems that the European Union’s oil sanctions against Iran will be postponed.
Iran’s four million man military is augmented by Russian Air Defense Systems:
Additionally, Iran’s armed forces are strengthened by the presence of at least 29 Russian Air Defense Systems and possibly a contingent of Russian troops. The presence of Russian troops in Iran would be likely since Russia has held joint military exercises with Iran and signed a mutual defense agreement with the Persian country. Coincidentally, this is eerily similar to the defense treaty signed between Russia and China.
No one is discussing the reciprocity of defense treaties with Iran and its allies. We must not forget that World War I was started by the assassination of Serbian Archduke Ferdinand. The players (and their pawns) are lining up and our commander-in-chief’s qualifications as a community organizer have now put our nation’s security in jeopardy.

As you may recall, just last week a “hit piece” by Times reporter Michael Luo ran in newspapers across not only the state, but the entire country, claiming thatthousands of North Carolina concealed handgun permit-holders are criminals.
Because Grass Roots North Carolina was central to passing our original concealed handgun law, Luo interviewed me … that is, until it became clear that he had a hit piece in mind, at which time I told him to “get bent.”

I’ve continually searched for how our country will collapse (not if, we know it will) and never believed the revolutionist, military martial law bunch. First, Obama doesn’t have the fire power, regardless of what many believe. Second, why should he incite civil unrest. While the elites make excuses, citizens cope with theft and destruction.

The city of Fresno is now under siege. Hundreds of street lights are out, their copper wire stripped away. In desperation, workers are now cementing the bases of all the poles — as if the original steel access doors were not necessary to service the wiring. How sad the synergy! Since darkness begets crime, the thieves achieve a twofer: The more copper they steal, the easier under cover of spreading night it is to steal more. Yet do thieves themselves at home with their wives and children not sometimes appreciate light in the darkness? Do they vandalize the street lights in front of their own homes?
We are facing one of two futures: global economic collapse or a world war. Since war would keep the politicians in power who have led us to this point, the latter option seems to be more likely. It is probable that the economic collapse may precede the war and the warning signs are easily seen if you look.
MF Global was the first major sign as it foreshadows the seizure of personal property and the probability of a banking holiday. The size of American banks’ exposure to the collapse of the European Union is staggering: Bank of America alone is $70 trillion minimum. When the banks go down, the economy collapses. If you have money in a bank account, ask yourself how much interest it is generating and deduct the tax liability? Then ask yourself if it is worth losing that money due to a technicality (MF Global) or a reevaluation of the greenback after a bank holiday.

The above oath is taken by our military, elected officials and even immigrants becoming US citizens. At what point are our leaders domestic enemies? The president is gutting our military while Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Muslim Brotherhood and Russia are gearing up for a world war. North Korea’s active and reserve military is 1.9 million soldiers. Our active military is 1,477,896 and reserve military is 1,458,500 . Subtract 500,000 from the US numbers, throw in Iran’s 1.2 active and reserve military to get a picture of what domestic enemies can do to national security.

Iran announced plans on Friday for new military exercises in the world’s most important oil shipping lane, the latest in weeks of bellicose gestures towards the West as new sanctions threaten Tehran’s oil exports.
Real Admiral Ali Fadavi, naval commander of the Revolutionary Guards Corps, said exercises next month would focus directly on the Strait of Hormuz, which leads out of the Gulf and provides the outlet for most Mid-East oil.
H.R. 3676 has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives to ensure that the rights of due process of American Citizens will be protected against abuses of the NDAA. We have to ask why this legislation is necessary since the president (D) and Allen West (R) have assured the public that our rights will be protected. We also have to ask what impact H.R. 3166 will have if this legislation passes but the government is able to strip a person of his citizenship thus rendering H.R. 3676 moot?
Glenn Beck recently made an observation that I initially dismissed but after more consideration, may be more true than we want to believe:
The Democrat Party is leading America to Communism and the Republican Party is leading America to Fascism.
After the legislation passed in the passed month and “recess” appointments strengthening the role of Communists (labor unions) in America, I now ask who is leading America back to freedom? The answer is found in the mirror if you believe in America and not in government.

The Department of Homeland Security and Janet Napolitano do not represent the land of the free. The government’s desperate attempt to institute a police state is not going unnoticed. The passage of the NDAA and the pending HR 3166 are nothing more than a power grab to usurp power under a pretense of security.

The expected military budget cuts necessitated by the failure of the supercommittee will be announced today (January 5th) by the president. The August debt ceiling legislation has now come home to roost with this announcement. Congress gave the president the authority to raise the debt ceiling without their approval and the final $1.2 trillion increase was just released. No Congressional budget, no Congressional oversight for debt ceiling increases and now the military will pay the price for Obama’s “more realistic” vision.
Between Valerie Jarrett’s Right to Protect policy, the NDAA and this new military vision, I feel safer already.

The Obama administration will unveil a “more realistic” vision for the military on Thursday, with plans to cut tens of thousands of ground troops and invest more in air and sea power at a time of fiscal restraint, officials familiar with the plans said on Wednesday.

President Obama has been saying for months he won’t wait around for Congress to get middle-class families and working Americans back on their feet. He’ll work with Congress when he can, but if they refuse to act — he will.
So today the President appointed former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray as Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. For months, Senate Republicans — with Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum right behind them — have fought this bureau every step of the way, and their latest strategy is to refuse to allow even an up-or-down vote on this nomination.
The issue isn’t his qualifications: Cordray has bipartisan support from elected officials across the country and a clear majority of the Senate behind him. They won’t allow a confirmation vote on any director — because they don’t want the agency to exist at all.
We can’t afford to continue allowing Wall Street to write its own rules. But today’s action by the President is already coming under partisan attack, which we expect to intensify in the days to come.
