A State Can Never Lead … in search of William Wallace

David laments “I Thought Texas Would Show Us The Way” and expresses hope that South Carolina might lead the way to rekindle our American spirit.

While acts of a body politic may reflect the combined will of a people, spirit and leadership are always attributes of an individual.

The mechanism of State can only amplify the attributes of an individual.  Look at the POTUS, an individual whose philosophy and message are being amplified to the detriment of Liberty.

In response to his presence and influence, the several States are embracing Facism with little concern for the long term effect on their people:

Conjoining government with private corporations is commonly referred to as ‘crony capitalism,’ ‘public-private partnerships,’ ‘corporatism’ and now ‘Benefit Corporations.’

“Benefit Corporations are a new class of corporation that are required to create a material positive impact on society and the environment and to meet higher standards of accountability and transparency. Model legislation was drafted by Bill Clark from Drinker Biddle & Reath.”

Packaged in the same rhetoric we hear from Obama, it begs the question, “Accountability and transparency to whom?”

Van Jones Never Left

Glenn Beck may have caused the president to remove Van Jones as the Green Jobs czar but this victory was little more than appeasement to misdirect our attention two years ago. Mr. Jones’ is still impacting governmental decisions including being on the advisory committee of the Presidential Climate Action Project (CPAC). He also has rejoined the Center for American Progress (CAP) to lead their “Green Opportunity Initiative”.

What is the purpose of CPAC?

Our principal objective has been to identify actions the President could take without further approval from Congress. To make sure our recommendations were grounded in law, one of our first initiatives was to commission two detailed studies on presidential authorities. In those reviews, the University of Colorado School of Law looked at federal laws and executive orders going back to the 1930s, as well as the different leadership philosophies of past presidents.

I Thought Texas Would Show Us the Way

I always thought that the Lone Star State would be the first state to stand up for American principles and lead us in the fight to regain our Constitutional freedom. However South Carolina once again is leading the way for the rest of the United States to follow if we have any hope of rekindling our American spirit and future.

South Carolina previously stood tall trying to stop the ceiling debt increase in defiance of the rest of the Congress. I applaud Governor Haley for voicing her beliefs in public as opposed to Governor Perdue’s lap-dog stance with the administration.

R.Perry – doesn’t sound much like a principled conservative

Rick Perry Wanted Bi-National Health Insurance With Mexico

I just read the text of Rick Perry’s remarks to the Border Summit on Aug, 21st 2001. How in the hell is this stuff slipping through the cracks without a single mention in the conservative press? If this had been Obama, Sean Hannity would have been talking about it 24/7 during the last presidential campaign.

There are many passages in the speech that are of great concern to me, but this one really caught my attention.

…Legislation authored by border legislators Pat Haggerty and Eddie Lucio establishes an important study that will look at the feasibility of bi-national health insurance. This study recognizes that the Mexican and U.S. sides of the border compose one region, and we must address health care problems throughout that region. That’s why I am also excited that Texas Secretary of State Henry Cuellar is working on an initiative that could extend the benefits of telemedicine to individuals living on the Mexican side of the border….

Does Rick Perry still support an international health insurance program such as the one he laid out in his speech that day? Will someone in the media please ask him before it’s too late?

Iceland’s president accused European countries on Sunday of having bullied it into agreeing to guarantee repayment of the debts of a failed bank, reviving a dispute with Britain and the Netherlands whose citizens are owed billions.

Occupy Wall Street – The Transformation of Constitution Day

On the 17th of September, we want to see 20,000 people to flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices and we will not leave until that demand has been met.

The above statement is from the organizers of Occupy Wall Street who want to “use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America”. Changing a Republic to a Democracy is a fundamental shift in the structure of the government: this is known as revolution. How appropriate it is to have the beginning of their “revolution” on Constitution Day. The image in the wave cartoon above is Guy Fawkes who unsuccessfully tried to assassinate King James I to restore a Catholic monarch to the throne.
