This is another case where the representatives and senators did not have (or take) the time to “read the bill”. Where else but government can you address a problem at your convenience by extending deadlines, blame someone or some group (patriots) for your inaction, “fix” the problem at the last minute and then find out that the problem has been made worse? Republicans are now following in the footsteps of Nancy Pelosi. Remember her rationale concerning the passage of Health Care Legislation:
Today was a difficult day. Congress and the president signed off on debt ceiling legislation that does not address the problem, sets up a “super committee” and will probably raise taxes and cut the military’s budget. The stock market declined 266 points and now has lost over 5% in the past five trading sessions. But the attack on the honor of patriots for standing up for our founding principles by our “leaders” is the most difficult to understand since these people have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
What does not kill us, makes us stronger. What is hard on us physically and emotionally is only a means to temper our resolve to fight. AND WE WILL FIGHT.
Sarah Palin’s comments tonight gave a good perspective on these people whose attacks on patriots will eventually expose who they really are: traitors.
Here is the roll call for S. 365 to increase the federal debt ceiling. Senators who voted for our future instead of supporting a continued death spiral are in red. Even though congressmen, president and vice president vilify patriots for exposing the corruption, incompetence and greed inside the Beltway, they have now been exposed based on their votes. America has paid a steep price today as honor was replaced by vain and aspiring men. We also are paying a steep price in wealth as the stock market responded as it should respond to fiscal malfeasance.
Once again both North Carolina senators voted to support this measure and both South Carolina senators stood up for freedom.

The August 2nd debt ceiling deadline imposed by Timothy Geithner is no longer an issue. The scare tactics of “default”, which was never a possibility in the near future, worked as intended by the media and the president.
So now where is the United States? Or rather where are we the people? Based on the analysis of the debt ceiling legislation, the stock market’s reaction is definitely negative:

The former comptroller general — which heads the Government Accountability Office — had some unsettling words regarding U.S. debt and the recent debt debate. According to him, the U.S. is on its way to becoming like Greece, whose debt problems have plummeted that country into economic hell.
“We are less than three years away from where Greece had its debt crisis as to where they were from debt to GDP,” David Walker told CNBC.

Vice president Joe Biden and Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Doyle have labelled Tea Partiers “terrorists”. At some point, we have to separate government from our country. When our government refers to the patriotic citizens who are standing up to save the future of the United States as “terrorists”, the line in the sand is clear. Our leaders in Washington have shown their contempt for the Constitution, for the patriots who stand up for freedom and for the principles of the founding fathers.
These politicians are not leaders of our country: they are traitors who are destroying our country through incompetence, personal greed and a lust for power. Our pursuit of happiness has been destroyed by their pursuit of power.
Rep. John Conyers has called Americans “to mass thousands of people in front of the White House to protest” the debt ceiling legislation. My response to Rep. Conyers is simple:

Last night I couldn’t figure out at first blush how Boehner/Reid managed to get their “numbers” to work. Well, when I looked at it again this morning, it snapped into focus, along with a backhanded comment and, yes, math.

Think TAXES … Much Higher Taxes …
Even if the debt ceiling legislation is passed, happy days are not here again. The recession was never over: we only need to factor in inflation and stimulus money to see actual private sector economic activity. The $130 trillion debt is not addressed by the proposed debt ceiling legislation but it is increased another $2.4 trillion. Our national credit rating is about to be downgraded by more agencies resulting in economic turmoil that will have a more devastating impact than default would have done.
The following report on the manufacturing sector is 11 times worse than expected. Although Washington will not admit or address our economic status, the people understand the reality of living within a budget.

One might think that the recent drama over the debt ceiling involved one side wanting to increase or maintain spending with the other side wanting to drastically cut spending, but
that is far from the truth. In spite of the rhetoric being thrown around, the real debate is over how much government spending will increase. No plan under serious consideration cuts spending in the way you and I think about it. Instead, the cuts being discussed are illusory and are not cuts from current amounts being spent, but cuts in prospective spending increases. This is akin to a family saving $100,000 in expenses by deciding not to buy a Lamborghini and instead getting a fully loaded Mercedes when really their budget dictates that they need to stick with their perfectly serviceable Honda.
