Dear CongressCritter Price

I did not write to you to solicit your view on the debt ceiling…

I gave you a specific instruction: DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING.

Do not lie to me by implication. “Default” is a threat that Obama and some in Congress are making to avoid spending cuts.

The only way a default would happen is if YOU choose to not pay the interest on existing debt from current revenues.

You are accountable for payment of that debt and for the consequences of your actions in office.

DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING !

The Crisis Is Upon Us

The debt ceiling deadline is August 2nd. The House of Representatives sent Cut, Cap and Balance legislation to the Senate and left Washington. The Senate did not approve the House bill, Harry Reid said it was now up to the House to solve the crisis and dismissed the Senate. The president has no plan or desire to solve this crisis.

And make no mistake: the crisis is upon us. The best case scenario would be for a compromise to be worked out over the weekend and presented to Congress on Monday. Congress then would have to debate and ratify the legislation in both the House and the Senate. Once approved, the two versions would then have to be resolved together and approved. Then the president has to sign it.

Republicans Subvert Patriot Efforts

There are three issues heavily weighing President Obama down as he heads into reelection in 2012: 1) the economy; 2) the debt; and 3) Obamacare. The deal Obama is crafting with Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, would appear to completely neutralize issues two and three.

According to The New York Times, Boehner is in negotiations with Obama on a long-term debt deal that would include a trigger for an automatic tax hike in exchange for a repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandate.

This would be a tremendous deal for the White House on both issues. Obamacare is already law. It does not matter if its estimated costs go up now. By losing the mandate now, Obama jettisons the most unpopular part of Obamacare and kills off a potential Supreme Court ruling against the law. Plus Obama would be able to campaign on a bipartisan deal to reduce the debt, thus neutralizing that issue. Meanwhile, nothing would be done to tackle our nation’s real deficit problems: fundamental Medicare reform. Oh, and taxes would be hiked by trillions of dollars, too.

It’s obvious why the White House would love every aspect of such a deal. How it helps Boehner, or the nation’s bottom line, is a complete mystery.

The Threat That Is Being Ignored

Our government and media have ignored the threat posed to our national security by North Korea. Whether North Korea is working in conjunction with China is only speculation at this point but their “breakthroughs” in metallurgy, nuclear proliferation and cyber attacks in the United States and South Korea from a country on the edge of starvation make no sense. Especially in light of closing all universities  while students were sent to farms, factories and construction sites.  Although Europe appeased Hitler’s attacks to maintain “peace”, the world is definitely following in Chamberlain’s footsteps in appeasing this regime. The following excerpt is from the Foreign Policy Association concerning a UN report that 23 million North Koreans are starving:

“Let them eat grass”

Two weeks ago the European Union announced that it intends to provide $14.5 million in emergency food aid to North Korea. According to the statement released by the EU, after visiting North Korea in June, monitors judged the situation to be: “Increasingly desperate and extreme measures are being taken by the hard-hit North Koreans, including the widespread consumption of grass.”

Who are “the People”?

Before you read what follows, answer the question.

Are “We The People”:

  1. the citizens of the body politic formed within these united States?
  2. those individuals residing lawfully within the jurisdiction of these united States?
  3. all people resident on land under the authority of these united States?

I think the answer requires a definition of context:

  • For the purpose of establishing the Constitution and laws of the land, I believe (1).
  • For the purpose of determining who shall have recourse to redress grievances, (2).
  • For the protection of unalienable human rights, I extend to (3).

The 5th Circuit Court doesn’t agree with me.

“Sustainable” == Government Approved

A lot has been written about how progressives re-define words to make their agenda seem acceptable to people who aren’t paying close attention.

The label “sustainable development”, in context of Agenda 21, is an example of such re-definition.

To be sustainable, according to the U.N. definition, development must have no negative environmental impact. This requirement demands a monitor of development activity and a judgment made to determine whether the activity results in a negative environmental impact. This monitor and judge is necessarily some entity empowered by government. Development that fails to meet these requirements is, by definition, not sustainable. Development that meets these requirements is declared by government to be sustainable.

Therefore, sustainable development is government-approved development.

Egan-Jones Downgrades US Credit Rating to AA+

Egan-Jones Rating Company is officially recognized by the Security and Exchange Commission. This company has downgraded the credit rating of the United States from AAA to AA+. Here is a statement from their site concerning their services:

What Does the Debt Ceiling Represent to the Future of America?

The August 2nd debt ceiling deadline represents the future of our country but not in the sense that the government and media have portrayed. The American people are watching this crisis play out in Washington but a new undertone is starting to emerge. We are learning that the two political parties are more concerned about placing blame on the other party in order to gain an advantage in the elections next year than taking responsibility for our future. We are learning that political power and control is more important in our government than our future. We are learning that our future and freedom are no longer a concern in most politician’s agendas.

The media and both political parties have marginalized Americans who have had the audacity to question the path of our nation. Whether the label is Tea Party or 912, the proper term is patriot and that is what they fear. Patriots are awakening across the country, speaking out and standing up to restore the principles of our country. We the people were responsible for the Republican victory in the US House of Representatives in 2010. Our vote represented our demands for the return of fiscal responsibility and the Constitution.

West would ‘crack under the pressure’ has ratcheted the rhetoric in the battle between the two Florida Congressmen. She has responded to Mr. West’s challenge to make this personal since attacking someone’s mental acuity has pulled any gloves off in this fight.

Honor Must Be Defended

We finally have a politician who will stand up and defend their honor in Washington, DC. The following story from tampabay.com reports how Rep. Allen West responded to criticism by Debbie Wasserman Schultz concerning the debt ceiling crisis. It is very rare to see a politician stand up and defend their honor since honor is in short supply in our society. Sacred honor as found in our forefathers is non-existent in political circles as back room deals and power override any sense of duty to our country.

It is a pleasant surprise to see a politician who will not only stand up for their honor but also show that they are a statesman. Rep. West is quite an eloquent speaker whose personal convictions are resonating throughout the nation. We used to have statesmen who would stand up and make society take the righteous path in order to maintain our republic. How many politicians would you classify as a “statesman” today? I would classify our president as a “teleprompterman” and most of Congress as “highwaymen”. The hope and change needed to restore our country will reside in statesmen who are willing to display the courage to defend their positions when their honor is attacked.

Texas Surrenders To Illegal Immigration

As outlined below, the El Paso City Council will replace border guards in January with electronic kiosks. Unmanned checkpoints at the southern border? The following excerpt from USA Today contrasts the safety of El Paso to Ciudad Juarez on the Mexican side of the border:

On the other side of the César Chávez Border Highway [from El Paso] is one of the most violent cities in the world, Ciudad Juárez.
