Stewart Rhodes (Oath Keepers Founder), Ann Barnhardt, and Mitt Romney on the Constitution

Stewart Rhodes gave a speech on the NDAA and its consequences at the North Carolina General Assembly on May 30, 2012. Mr. Rhodes is the founder of Oath Keepers.

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution.

Mr. Rhodes gives a history of earlier Constitutional abuses under Lincoln and FDR to compare our current state where the government is acting illegally against the people and the rule of law. Since he outlined this point clearly in his speech, I asked a simple question: At what point will people who have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution actually defend it?

I watched Ann Barnhardt outline more Constitutional abuses earlier in which she shows that the majority of the Bill of Rights has been rendered impotent by Washington, D.C.:

Here is Mitt Romney’s view on the NDAA:

Mr. Rhodes gave his outline for our course of action:

1. Nullification

2. Civil Disobedience

3. Revolution to restore the Constitution

No matter who wins the 2012 election, the president will not follow the Constitution.

Only those rights are ours which we demand both by word and by deed, for by Universal law are we convicted of the fact that whatever we shun must eventually decay to nothingness. Further, possessing rights only by abstract theory is both useless and cowardly, conferring an uninformed sense of security upon the present, and the condemnation of ignorance upon the future. Therefore, we must exercise and confirm our rights by their thorough employment in our daily lives, else how are we better for them, and how shall our posterity learn their true value and proper exercise?
