Would You Put Limitations on God?

I have no problem with the concept of God making other planets and people. Who are any of us to put limitations on Him? If an “alien” from another world extended their hand to you and said “We are brothers in Christ”, would you accept their hand?

I am surprised at the comments concerning a story concerning crashed alien spaceships. Once again the lack of critical thinking skills, irrational attacks and ignorance are on full display. Imagine if we visited another world in the future that was inhabited. Remember the Great Commission:

Matthew 28:16-20

 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I look at the people in our country and wonder how we will survive. We see fear mongering in a news story concerning a whistleblower. We do not understand that information comes in various forms and qualifiers. Take any information and qualify the source as reliable and trustworthy. If it passes as information that impacts you or your future decisions, analyze it further and generate intelligence upon which to act. For those who take the “alien” information as invalid, move on and prepare based on information and intelligence that you give credibility.
Making an issue and attacking other people is a course of action that evil has taught you. For me, I have read and evaluated the possibility of aliens from other worlds since I watched Star Trek and Lost in Space as a child. I have not spent much time on how it impacts my life and actions because I see no point.
For those who believe these aliens exist and are fallen angels, go ahead. I know that we are in a fight of good vs. evil and we face demons who have taken over our government and corporations. And I mean demons. Everyone is welcome to their opinions and can make their own assumptions. What I see are people making statements and dividing us according to their own analysis of information that is not verified publicly or with tangible evidence.
This particular news concerning aliens and their spaceships is only a distraction if you make it a distraction. It is only a deception if you are easily deceived. For those of us who are able to take information, verify and grade it, and formulate intelligence if necessary, this is an easy issue to consider or not.
Continue to put forth your propositions as you like. I am preparing for a world war and economic collapse and praying that the Lord gives me His Divine Providence to fight evil.
UFO’s and aliens take a backseat to your earlier post with the Redacted video. That burns and breaks my heart at the same time. I believe our legal system is too compromised and corrupt to deal with this issue. Sometimes you have to…well, I’d rather not say on a public forum.
DRenegade,
The reason we as a Nation are in trouble- look no further than the last verse in the Book of Judges. Every man did that which was right in his own eyes. Look at the commenters on here, SELF included. Receive one dislike and folks go bat-shit crazy! If you can’t handle corrective criticism then by all means don’t comment. Your way, nor my way isn’t ALWAYS right. HUMBLE and KIND goes along way. Ever had a slice of humble pie?
I’m pushing seventy. I remember JFK being murdered and started watching things because of it. The steady downhill run I’ve been watching has been picking up speed. The time between noteworthy events keeps getting smaller. The direction we are going is obvious. I’ve been wondering how much longer the wheels would stay on for twenty years. The Bible tells us a lot about what to expect. Calling evil good and good evil, like wrecking a young man’s life for having the temerity to state the obvious, Boys are Boys and Girls are Girls and there is no in between?? Evil is running things. It’s Got to Get Real, soon.
I will worry about the UFO when it lands in the yard. However, my wife and I have already had to deal with the pervert. Our 3 oldest daughters were molested and raped by a pervert who was their stepdad for 2 years. He was charged for these actions and the molestation and rape of 3 other young girls. He cut a deal and got 30 years in prison. They let him out after 13. I should have killed him then. I doubt he ever stopped. God took him out 3 years ago. He messed up the lives of 6 young girls. If it happens again to any of my grandchildren, I will be the one they send to prison. I pray God’s protection over them every day.
You know, this topic should actually be inspiring to everyone… it reminds us of the unbelievable splendor of God’s universe, and the fantastic elements of it. The James Webb telescope has found that there are not only more than the 100 billion galaxies in the universe, it is likely that there are in the TRILLIONS of galaxies, each with 200 to 400 billion stars, and quadillions of planets. How many of these star systems have at least one planet that supports life? I don’t have any idea, but I suspect MOST of them. Have some of them visited us? I am absolutely certain of it.
God created all of this. I sincerely ask, how magnificent is that? The universe is not only beyond our understanding, it is very likely beyond our ability to understand. It is enough for me to simply be in awe of that.
And yes, I would absolutely accept my brother’s hand in Christ, whether he is from here on Earth, or from anywhere else in the universe. I hope to live long enough to have the privilege of doing that.
Yeah, but this is a phony argument. I also have no problem with God who possibly made other planets with sentient life. Some of them may even be non-predatory.
But I do have a problem with people pushing the UFO bullshit.
Sorry about the vulgarity. I am annoyed with the UFO nonsense you are pushing. You think this is helping? How?
I was referring to Hammers Thor doing a riff off your argument that — as I read it — God’s world can include aliens on other planets, so that must mean that we should somehow be more open to the current UFO sightings (read propaganda). Sorry if I misread you.
Is the current UFO propaganda fear-mongering? That depends. I think at present it’s just another way to divert attention and feed phony divisions among us. It could easily be escalated later.
“Anyone capable of interstellar travel has little need of the people or its products.”
How so? Do they run all their stuff on magic pixie dust? No longer circumscribed by limits all life is subject to? The universe we know, as much as we can see of it, is built on predation…
“We may be their “entertainment” at this point.”
Grim. And you think you can “plan” for this?
Nah, don’t answer. I am just wasting yours and mine time. This is not a tree I should be barking at. Cheers.
To be sure TPTB will use the UFO business to their advantage, on the other hand, if they are real ETs it is something we should be aware of, as it will have a profound effect on our lives.
The UFO-story adherents think there have been ETs since Roswell, and maybe before. What kind of a “profound effect” on your life has it had?
On the other hand, right now, I am experiencing a profound negative effect from the struggles to distinguish truth from falsity. Daily. I am coping, but it’s exhausting. And the majority seems not to be coping, but rather caving in to the latest onslaught of bu…um… your know.
I am sorry the B word is banned here, because it is the only word that somewhat captures the malevolent insanity of what is going on. Using the word nonsense is a weak defensive weapon in comparison.
Gene Roddenberry’s personal story is fascinating.
Star Trek was his vision of what mankind’s
purpose was supposed to be once we all came
together.
To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new
life and new civilizations, to boldly go where
no man has gone before.
I’ll add by saying to spread the word of God
thy father and his son our savior.
Humanity missed its calling long ago and now
the greatest show mankind has ever witnessed
is just getting started and there is nothing
that is going to stop it.
Feel blessed, because as long as your heart holds
out, you are going to witness things no human
has ever witnessed before.
From ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ -- “It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.”
David,
Verily, I extend my deepest gratitude for the illuminating composition thou hast generously shared. It hath proven a fount of wisdom and insight. With consistency, I find myself immersed in thy writings, drinking deeply of the ideas thou dost present. Thine thoughts, like a scholar’s riddles, impel me to reflection and earnest contemplation. Indeed, thine intellect and eloquence doth afford me much to ponder.
haha, literally the bottom line --
well said,
how frivolous are all the petty disputes in that perspective.
i am more concerned that people, all faiths, do not seem to grasp the concept of treating each other the way we ourselves wish to be treated.
At all times.
i believe we all could use some help. His help. we need to get over ourselves. And yes, we includes me!
BTW for the record, the God I worship created the heavens and the earth as described in Genesis.
Genesis 1
New International Version
The Beginning
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
God created helpers:
Proverbs 8:22-31
Revised Standard Version
Wisdom’s Part in Creation
22 The Lord created me at the beginning of his work,[a]
  the first of his acts of old.
23 Ages ago I was set up,
  at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth,
  when there were no springs abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains had been shaped,
  before the hills, I was brought forth;
26 before he had made the earth with its fields,[b]
  or the first of the dust[c] of the world.
27 When he established the heavens, I was there,
  when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28 when he made firm the skies above,
  when he established[d] the fountains of the deep,
29 when he assigned to the sea its limit,
  so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
30   then I was beside him, like a master workman;[e]
and I was daily his[f] delight,
  rejoicing before him always,
31 rejoicing in his inhabited world
  and delighting in the sons of men.
The God I worship has no limitations aside from the ones HE put upon Himself in His promises.
Why would one think about “putting limitations on God? Vainglory is the worst of sins. Best to think about how I can help another, or reflect on my own sin.
He puts limitations on man. And for good reason. Praise Yahuah and His creation.
Knowing these things what kind of people should we be?
Not sure what it is you are advocating for?
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
