Why North Carolina Must Nullify the National Voter Registration Act Now!

From the earliest days of our Republic, 1 some years before our federal Constitution of 1787 was ratified; 2 the Citizens of the States determined the qualifications for voting, and memorialized these qualifications in their State Constitutions. In keeping with this hallowed practice, the Citizens of North Carolina recently amended Article VI of their State Constitution to add to the Qualifications for voting the requirement that persons voting in person present a photo ID.
But lawsuits have been filed in federal court objecting to the photo ID’s; and the judge on one of them, U.S. District Judge Loretta Biggs [Mid. Dist. North Carolina], has announced that she will issue a preliminary injunction against the requirement that voters present a photo ID. North Carolina election officials scurried to comply with Judge Biggs’ announcement; and Republican politicians called for an appeal.
The purpose of this paper is to show a better way to proceed – to show how North Carolina can enforce the US Constitution and the qualifications for voting set forth in its State Constitution.
We begin by looking at what our federal Constitution says about qualifications of voters.

  1. Our federal Constitution enshrines the pre-existing practice
    where States set the qualifications for voters

In our federal Constitution of 1787, the States expressly retained their pre-existing power to determine the qualifications of voters: Article I, §2, cl. 1, US Constit., says,
“The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.” [italics added]
So! Under our federal Constitution, those who are eligible to vote for Representatives to their State Legislature are, by definition, the ones eligible to vote for Members of the federal House of Representatives.
The 17th Amendment [ratified 1913] provided that those who were eligible to vote for Representatives to the US House would also be eligible to vote for the US Senators.
With four later amendments, the States decided that they would not deny eligibility to vote to Citizens on account of race (15th Amendment), sex (19th Amendment), failure to pay taxes (24th Amendment), and for those 18 years of age or older on account of age (26th Amendment).
So the States have retained their original authority to set whatever qualifications for voting they deem appropriate, subject to their agreement (with each other) that they would not deny suffrage on account of a Citizen’s being in one of those four categories.

  1. Voting fraud
    But today, we all know that, due to the federal government’s long continuing refusal 3 to control immigration 4 and protect the States from Invasion,5 illegal aliens are flooding into our Country. In at least 15 States, illegals may get drivers’ licenses; and with California’s “motor voter law”, illegals are automatically registered to vote when they get a drivers’ license! 6
    Furthermore, there are Precincts in this Country where well over 100% of the registered voters turn out to vote! This Georgia Precinct had a 243% voter turnout!
    Our elections are also corrupted by the “ghost voters” described in Deroy Murdock’s article. Murdock shows that throughout the United States, over 3.5 million persons who don’t exist are registered to vote. For North Carolina, Murdock finds 189,721 ghost voters. Virginia has 89,979 ghost voters. But that’s a pittance compared to California which “is a veritable haunted house, teeming with 1,736,556 ghost voters.”
    When you add California’s 1,736,556 ghost voters to the illegal aliens who also vote there (thanks to “Motor Voter”)7 and understand that this problem is nation-wide; who can deny that the States need to man-up and clean up their corrupt voting systems? The federal government has no constitutional authority to clean up the voting rolls; 8 but the States have the inherent and retained duty and power to do so.
    By requiring photo IDs, the Citizens of North Carolina have taken a first step towards getting rid of some of those 189,721 ghosts, plus the illegals, who corrupt elections within their State.
  2. The Federal Government has usurped the States’ expressly retained power
    to set qualifications for Voters
    In 1993, Congress passed the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) [link], wherein they unlawfully seized power to dictate voter registration procedures (for federal elections) for the entire Country.
    By dictating the registration procedures each State must use, and by mandating the voter registration form [the “federal form”] each State must use when registering voters; the NVRA stripped the States of their power to determine whether voters in their State meet the qualifications for voting set forth within their State Constitutions. It thus prohibits the States from enforcing the qualifications for voting set forth in their State Constitutions! 9
    This is shown by what happened in Arizona:
    The Constitution of the State of Arizona restricts voting to Citizens. During 2004, the People of Arizona (which had been overrun with illegal aliens) adopted an initiative (Proposition 200) which required those in Arizona who apply to register to vote, to provide documentary proof of citizenship. But a lawsuit was filed in federal court; and the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that since the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 doesn’t require applicants for voter registration to provide documentary proof of citizenship, the States may not require it.
    Thereafter, in Arizona v. The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (2013), the US Supreme Court affirmed the Ninth Circuit’s opinion.
    I wrote about the Ninth Circuit’s opinion and the Supreme Court’s opinion . Both opinions are monuments to judicial incompetence – or worse. The assertions made by the Courts in their attempts to justify their unconstitutional judgments are demonstratively false. The majority opinion of the Supreme Court is also logically incoherent.
    But here we are: The Supreme Court has held that since the federally mandated voter registration form doesn’t require that persons registering to vote provide proof of citizenship, the States may not require it. What this means, in practice, is that the States must register anyone who fills out the federal form.
  3. So where does this leave North Carolina?
    The federal voter registration form may be seen (in 15 different languages).
    The federal form doesn’t require applicants for registration to provide a photo ID. Therefore, consistent with Arizona v. The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc., North Carolina may not require applicants for registration to provide a photo ID.
    May North Carolina require voters to present a photo ID when they show up to vote? The Supreme Court hasn’t directly addressed this; 10 but consider that since the federal government requires the States to register anyone who fills out the federal form, why would the feds permit the States to deny exercise of the suffrage to any name which is “registered”?
    We already know how U.S. District Judge Loretta Biggs is going to rule – and her ruling is consistent with the Supreme Court’s lawless holding in Arizona v. The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc.
  4. Are There any Men in North Carolina?
    The 7th paragraph of our Declaration of Independence recites how the Colonists opposed with manly firmness the King’s invasions on the rights of the people.

Are there any politicians in North Carolina today who will oppose the federal government’s invasions on the rights of the Citizens of North Carolina to set and enforce requirements for voting within their State?
A State Attorney General with brains and a spine would inform the federal judge that North Carolina won’t participate in the litigation; that she may issue all the Orders and Judgments she wants – North Carolina will ignore them – because (if she obeys the Supreme Court instead of the federal and State Constitutions) her Orders and Judgments will be void as in violation of Article I, §2, clause 1, US Constitution; and as in violation of the Sovereign Rights of North Carolina to enforce their own Constitution respecting voter qualifications.
What could a federal judge do about such a principled response from North Carolina? She has no Army. She has no power to enforce her judgments. She has to depend on the Executive Branch of the Federal government to enforce her judgments.11
So we would find out whether Trump actually means it when he says he wants honest elections, or whether he is just another fake “conservative”. If he is a fake, he will send in the National Guard to enforce the Judge’s unconstitutional judgment. But if Trump lives up to his words about the need for honest elections [link]; then he will refuse to send in the National Guard to enforce the unconstitutional Judgment; and North Carolina will have won the Battle and set a noble example for other States to follow.

  1. Conclusion
    The Deep State which controls the federal government doesn’t want elections cleaned up – they need dirty elections to get their henchmen in office. So they have embarked upon a course of action (such as the NVRA) to try to prevent the States from cleaning up elections. So, for Heaven’s Sake! Man up and resist! Our Framers always advised the States to resist unconstitutional acts of the federal government [link] [link]! We will never get honest elections unless the States man up and reclaim their rightful authority over their own voter rolls. Do it before you lose the political power to do it.

    8 President Trump’s Executive Order 13799 of May 11, 2017, which purported to establish a “Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity”, is unconstitutional as outside the scope of powers delegated to the federal government.
    9 Justice Thomas understands this: Until the federal government usurped power over this issue, the States always determined their own procedures for registration of those who were, pursuant to their State Constitution, qualified to vote. The function of registration of voters is so that the States may determine whether the qualifications for voting set forth in their State Constitution have been met! Justice Thomas points out in his dissent in Arizona v. The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. at II. A. 2:
    “This understanding of Article I, §2, is consistent with powers enjoyed by the States at the founding. For instance, ownership of real or personal property was a common prerequisite to voting … To verify that this qualification was satisfied, States might look to proof of tax payments… In other instances, States relied on personal knowledge of fellow citizens to verify voter eligibility. . . States have always had the power to ensure that only those qualified under state law to cast ballots exercised the franchise.
    Perhaps in part because many requirements (such as property ownership or taxpayer status) were independently documented and verifiable, States in 1789 did not generally “register” voters . . . Over time, States replaced their informal systems for determining eligibility, with more formalized pre-voting registration regimes. . . But modern voter registration serves the same basic purpose as the practices used by States in the Colonies and early Federal Republic. The fact that States have liberalized voting qualifications and streamlined the verification process through registration does not alter the basic fact that States possess broad authority to set voter qualifications and to verify that they are met.”
    10 In the Supreme Court’s majority opinion, Scalia mentioned (4th para down from top) that Arizona’s Proposition 200 also required voters “to present identification when they vote on election day”; but he did not grace us with an answer as to whether States may require voters to prove that they are who they say they are when they show up to vote.
    11 As Alexander Hamilton points out in Federalist No. 78, the Judicial Branch is the weakest branch. All they can do is issue orders and judgments – they can’t enforce their orders and judgments. They must rely on the Executive Branch to carry them out:
    “… the judiciary… will always be the least dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution; because it will be least in a capacity to annoy or injure them. The Executive not only dispenses the honors, but holds the sword of the community. The legislature not only commands the purse, but prescribes the rules by which the duties and rights of every citizen are to be regulated. The judiciary, on the contrary, has no influence over either the sword or the purse; no direction either of the strength or of the wealth of the society; and can take no active resolution whatever. It may truly be said to have neither FORCE nor WILL, but merely judgment; and must ultimately depend upon the aid of the executive arm even for the efficacy of its judgments.” [caps are Hamilton’s]

The Command That Creates

Anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:14)

When Jesus commanded Lazarus to rise from the dead, how did he obey that command? John 11:43 says, “He [Jesus] cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out.’” That was a command to a dead man. The next verse says, “The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips” (John 11:44).

How did Lazarus do that? How does a dead man obey a command to live again? The answer seems to be: The command carries the power to create new life. Obedience to the command means doing what living people do.

This is extremely important. The command of God, “Rise from the dead!” carries in it the power we need to obey it. We do not obey it by creating that life. We obey it by doing what living people do — Lazarus came forth. He rose. He walked out to Jesus. The call of God creates life. We respond in the power of what the call creates.

In Ephesians 5:14, Paul says, “Awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” How do you obey a command to wake up from sleep? If your house has poisonous carbon monoxide in it, and someone cries out, “Wake up! Save yourself! Get out!” you don’t obey by waking yourself up. The loud, powerful command itself wakes you up. You obey by doing what wakeful people do in the face of danger. You get up and leave the house. The call creates the waking. You respond in the power of what the call created — wakefulness.

I believe this is the explanation for why the Bible says paradoxical things about new birth; namely, that we must get ourselves new hearts, but that it is God who creates the new heart. For example:

Deuteronomy 10:16: “Circumcise your heart!”
Deuteronomy 30:6: “The Lord will circumcise your heart.”

Ezekiel 18:31: “Make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit!”
Ezekiel 36:26: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.”

John 3:7: “You must be born again.”
1 Peter 1:3: “God caused us to be born again.”

The way to obey the command to be born is to first experience the divine gift of life and breath, and then to do what living, breathing people do: cry out to God in faith and gratitude and love. When the command of God comes with the creating, converting power of the Holy Spirit, it gives life. And we believe and rejoice and obey.

Interesting concept: Diplomatic Carry

David posted yesterday about the new gun ban at the capitol in Virginia.

I commented: “to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them” must be a personal, rather than a societal, mandate.”

Thomas Dowling commented “Diplomatic Carry is a new level of autonomy, of personal sovereignty” and provided a link to the concept of Diplomatic Carry.

This caused me to consider how one might use the concept of Diplomatic Immunity to “to assume … the separate and equal station” that I alluded to above.

I propose the following:

Establishment of

Diplomatic Immunity

within the geographic boundary

claimed by the United States

and the several States therein

Whereas the national government known as the United States and the local governments of the several States have evolved to disregard the constraints of their original authority and to disrespect the enumerated rights of individuals born to and living upon the soil within their borders;

And whereas such individuals have patiently petitioned legislators for redress of grievances suffered from this evolution without success and without hope of remedy;

Many have declared their homesteads to be common-law sanctuaries operating as freeholds within the hostile environment of a foreign legislative domain.

Longstanding and clear instructions posted at the boundary of such properties indicate a resolve to live unencumbered by the external State, despite the practical fact that the individuals living therein are coerced by force of arms to make periodic feudal rent payments to the surrounding State.

To avoid potential conflict between the sovereign claim of the external State, and the rejection of said claim by individuals living within a freehold, any and all travel, commerce and individual intercourse across the boundary will be conducted as a Diplomatic Mission of the freehold.

Individuals conducting Diplomatic Missions into territories outside the freehold will carry a Diplomatic Identity which (1) testifies the bearer agrees to engage in no common-law crime while outside the freehold, and (2) instructs agents of the external State to grant the bearer immunities afforded to foreign diplomatic personnel.

The US Department of State provides instruction to law enforcement on the respectful treatment of Diplomatic and Consular Immunity.

Included in the above document are examples of the type of Diplomatic ID cards that one might create for the Diplomatic Missions of their freehold.

To Know You Don’t Know, by Robert Gore

Since the death of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, the theories as to what he was doing in Iraq, why he and his companions were murdered, what the Iranians and Iraqis will do in response, and the future implications for the Middle East, the US, and the world are well into double digits if they haven’t already hit triple digits. (The above seems to be the most prevalent spelling of Qassem Soleimani’s name. It’s emblematic of the Middle East that there’s always more than one spelling for proper names of individuals and organizations.)

It’s ludicrous that American and European media figures, mainstream and alternative, presume to offer authoritative opinions within a few days after such an event. It is even more ludicrous that millions of people, most of whom can’t find Iran, Iraq, or any other country in the Middle East on an unmarked map, will believe one or the other purported explanations based solely on their firmly held misconceptions, prejudices, and pure ignorance.

SLL does not claim to know what’s going on, what went on, or what will go on in the Middle East beyond four incontrovertible truths. One: it’s always been impossible for anyone, even the inhabitants of the region, to know exactly what goes on there. Two: the Middle East is at the forefront of the global trends towards decentralization, devolution, and chaos because it’s always been decentralized, devolved, and chaotic. Three: that being the case, outsiders who venture into the Middle East for religious crusades, geopolitical advantage, or economic gain invariably rue it. Four: the Middle East sits on the world’s largest aggregate pool of oil, but its economies have relatively little use for it, which means oil must be exported for its petroleum to have any value for its governments and inhabitants.

A Question Concerning How to Help

I have read your work for some time, and I respect your positions.

I would like to ask you on simple question: “What can I do – how can I help?”

I am well past my prime and not physically able to do much ‘heavy lifting’, but at the same time I have been active in the liberty movement for decades. Lately, I have suffered from a crisis of confidence in my ability to accomplish anything meaningful in this arena, so I am looking for advice.

I am not a man of great wealth or talent, but I am willing to participate where I can. Can you offer me any concrete suggestions?

My initial thought was to respond to this email individually as I have done in the past. Then I thought about other emails and real life interactions that have presented the same question. We know that the federal and state governments have usurped the power of the people. They use our tax dollars against us. The use the media against us. In fact, let’s face reality: they have been at war with us for a long period of time and we are funding this war. For those who understand that there is no voting our way out of this, what recourse do we have?

We should remember what our forefathers did when faced with a tyrannical government: they sought the help of God. And they received it. They also warned us that we must be vigilant in order to keep this Great Experiment.

There are four references to God in the Declaration:

  • The “laws of nature and of nature’s God” entitle the United States to independence.
  • Men are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.”
  • Congress appeals “to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions.”
  • The signers, “with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence,” pledge to each other their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.

Let’s be clear: they are referring to the God of Abraham. Those who hold us in contempt for religious intolerance are only trying to hide the truth of our founding principles.

Our God has endowed us with un-a-lien-able rights. This is the proper context and no government can put a lien on them (unless we allow it).

From March 10, 2019 concerning the opening prayer to the House of Representatives: Omar Suleiman, the founder and president of the Dallas-based Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, was introduced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after having been sponsored by Texas Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson.

Our Congress has become a temple of evil. Period.

And then we come to the last reference: with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

And this is the answer to the above question. We must do everything we can do to pass down a legacy of Liberty to children. We have to understand that our lives are meaningless to the enemy that we face and that we must sacrifice this life instead of compromising it. Our fortunes have been given to us by God for a reason; do you think now is the time to help secure our freedom and fulfill God’s vision for this nation? Only God can bestow sacred Honor upon us. We know what must be done in order to receive this recognition.

I am not asking for anyone to do more than I myself have done. May the Lord give us the same aid and answers that he gave our forefathers.

A Place For Everything, Everything In Its Place.

Founding father, Benjamin Franklin, speaking on the second amendment stated, “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Franklin is known for many of his quotes, he also stated, “A place for everything, everything in its place.” I doubt that when he said that he could have ever imagined that it would be so appropriate when referring to a range bag.

The people at Elite Survival Systems Must have had that quote in mind when they designed their Loadout Molle Range Bag.

Full disclosure before I dive into the review of this bag. Elite Survival Systems sent me this bag for review only, it came with a return label so that it could be returned it once the review was completed. I feel obligated to point this out so that everyone understands that it is unbiased and I am not receiving any compensation or allowed to keep the bag after the review.

If you own any weapons and ever go to a range, which you should do as a responsible gun owner and practice, you need a gun bag or what is also known as a range bag.

Aside from the obvious, that a range bag should have enough room for what you plan on carrying, there are many other criteria that it should meet. Strong, yet lightweight. Movable and removable sections allowing you to setup the bag to meet your particular needs just to name a few.

Before I decided to review this particular Range Bag, the Elite Survival Systems Loadout Range Bag, I looked over and read the reviews of dozens that were available online. There were several reasons that I chose to review this particular bag and they will be explained within the article.

The first thing that caught my eye when looking at the bag, were the zippers. Aside from being high quality, heavy zippers, every zipper on this bag has a plastic tab that is attached to the zipper head with paracord. I did not see any of these tabs on any of the other bags I had looked over.

The tabs on the zippers make it so much easier to open and close, it has to be mentioned. If you’ve ever had any gun oil, moisture, or dirt on your hands and tried to grab a zipper, you know how difficult it can be. I can tell you that you will not have an issue opening or closing anything on this bag with these tabs. This may seem like a very small detail, but Elite Survival Systems added it and it’s just one of many features that shows the thought that went into the design on the overall quality of this bag.

The entire bag is made with 1050 denier nylon and if that’s too technical, suffice it to say it is a very heavy, thick and long-lasting material.

The second thing that jumped out at me, was the width of the shoulder strap and the handles. The other bags that I looked at, even those in the same price point, had very thin and flimsy shoulder straps. The shoulder strap on the Load-Out Molle Range Bag is not only very wide, but it is also heavily padded and one side is rubberized so it will stay put on your shoulder.

The main outer handles are not only just thicker and heavier than other bags, but they are also wrap around handles that are sewn all the way around the bag and double sewn again at the top. These handles are not going to rip or come off the bag with use.

Again, this may seem like a small detail, but when you consider the weight that you are going to be putting inside it from weapons to ammunition, you need a strap that is wide enough to handle that weight. Also, dispersing the weight over a wider strap makes it much more comfortable.

I was very impressed that every compartment of this bag is not only separately sewn but padded as well, the padding is extremely important, especially to keep any metal objects from banging together inside the bag.

The exterior, like the interior, is extremely well-thought-out. The front and end pockets have laser-cut Molle slots to allow for the attachment of accessory pouches. The front of the bag has a small velcro portion over top of the Molle area so you can personalize the bag with whatever patches you like.

As I explained in my ‘out of the box’ video that I did on the bag, the only real complaint that I had was that the velcro area was too small. Most people, like myself, like to personalize their bag and probably have more than one or two patches. But that is more of a suggestion to Elite Survival Systems rather than a complaint.

One side of the Loadout Molle Bag has a removable dump pouch for your expended brass that attaches to your belt as well as the Molle platform. Being able to remove the dump pouch and strapping it to your belt is another well-thought-out idea, it allows you to walk around and collect your brass and then reattach it to the Molle system on the bag.

Next to the dump pouch is a water bottle pocket and has an elastic band around the top and it will not only accommodate a standard size water bottle but a travel mug as well.

The opposite side of the bag has a removable AR magazine pouch that holds 2-4 magazines that are also elasticized on the top to hold the magazines firmly.

Everything on the interior of the bag is Velcro allowing you to remove whatever you may not be using and create more space in the bag.

The inside of the front pocket behind the Molle Velcro section is a large, fully padded pocket that has the following removable Velcro pouches: a magazine pouch that holds a minimum of 8 magazines that will accommodate both single or double stack magazines. Above the mag pouch is an eyewear pouch as well as a mesh parts pouch with a Velcro flap.

Another feature that I like is that when you open the main compartment, it unzips down all the way so you can lay it out flat creating a work area, it is like having a built-in gun mat.

The main reason I had requested to review this particular bag, was because of the bag within the bag. I had not seen this feature on any of the other bags that I looked at online. This lift-out insert has a Velcro adjustable divider and plenty of room for ammo and accessories. I like that you can remove it and place it anywhere once you’re at the range.

Just behind the lift-out insert is a pull-out pistol pouch that has a padded divider, it will hold at least two full-size handguns, even something as large as a Colt 1911 Govt..45 which is 8.5″ in length will fit nicely inside. I found that you can fit up to four small handguns (two per side) if they are compact or subcompact such as the Sig Sauer P365.

Another feature that impressed me was actually on the bottom of the bag. Every other bag that I looked over, and I looked over two dozen bags, only had four very small, thin square rubber feet on the bottom of the bag. Also, the feet were sewn onto the bottom of the bags.

The Loadout Molle Range Bag has two thick rubber luggage rails that run the entire length and are riveted to the bottom of the bag. When you set this bag down it is staying put and the bottom of the bag is thick enough that it will not collapse under the weight of whatever ammunition, weapons, and accessories that you have inside.

The dimensions of the Loadout Molle Bag are 17″ x 10″ x 11″ And it is available in either black or coyote.

The bottom line, as with any gun or gun accessory boils down to the price. The Loadout Molle Range Bag is listed on the Elite Survival Systems website with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $159.99, I did find it for as low as $127.99 on Amazon.

During my search for range bags, I saw some that were more expensive as well as some that were less expensive. However, the overall design and quality of this bag is well worth every penny. I honestly believe that this is a bag that would never have to be replaced.

Overall I give the Elite Survival Systems Loadout Molle Range Bag two thumbs up. I encourage you to watch my ‘out of the box’ video because being able to see everything that you can attach and fit into this bag with room to spare has to be seen to be believed.

To sum it up, as I stated in my video, I do not plan on sending this bag back to Elite Survival Systems. I have already been in touch with them and I am purchasing this bag for my own use. That is without a doubt the best recommendation.

This is truly a practical tactical range bag.

The Experiential Key

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

We know that faith in God’s future grace is the experiential key to generosity, because in 2 Corinthians, Paul holds out this wonderful promise: “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).

In other words, if you want to be free from the need to stash away your money, if you want to overflow with an abundance (of grace!) for every good work, then put your faith in future grace. Trust the promise that “God is able to make all grace abound to you” in every future moment for this very purpose.

I just called faith in future grace the “experiential key” to generosity, so as not to deny that there is a historical key as well. There is a key of experience, and a key of history. When talking about the grace they received, Paul reminds the Corinthians of the historical key of grace, “You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).

Without this historical work of grace, the door of Christ-exalting generosity would remain closed. That past grace is an indispensable key to love.

But notice how the past grace in this verse functions. It is made the foundation (Christ became poor) of future grace (that we might become rich). Thus the historical key to our generosity operates by putting a foundation under the experiential key of faith in future grace.

Thus, the experiential key to love and generosity is this: Put your faith firmly in future grace — namely, that “God is able (in the future) to make all (future) grace abound to you” — so that your needs are met, and so that you will be able to overflow with the love of generosity.

Freedom from greed comes from the deeply satisfying faith in God’s future grace.

The dust has settled and the evidence is in: The 1960s Great Society and War on Poverty programs of President Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) have been a colossal and giant failure. One might make the argument that social welfare programs are the moral path for a modern government. They cannot, however, make the argument that these are in any way effective at alleviating poverty.

In fact, there is evidence that such aggressive programs might make generational poverty worse. While the notion of a “culture of dependence” is a bit of a cliché in conservative circles, there is evidence that this is indeed the case – that, consciously or not, the welfare state creates a culture where people receive benefits rather than seeking gainful employment or business ownership.

This is not a moral or even a value judgment against the people engaged in such a culture. Again, the claim is not that people “choose to be on welfare,” but simply that social welfare programs incentivize poverty, which has an impact on communities that has nothing to do with individual intent.

We are now over 50 years into the development of the Great Society and the War on Poverty. It is time to take stock in these programs from an objective and evidence-based perspective. When one does that, it is not only clear that the programs have been a failure, but also that they have disproportionately impacted the black community in the United States. The current state of dysfunction in the black community (astronomically high crime rates, very low rates of home ownership and single motherhood as the norm) are not the natural state of the black community in the United States, but closely tied to the role that social welfare programs play. Or as Dr. Thomas Sowell stated:

“If we wanted to be serious about evidence, we might compare where blacks stood a hundred years after the end of slavery with where they stood after 30 years of the liberal welfare state. In other words, we could compare hard evidence on “the legacy of slavery” with hard evidence on the legacy of liberals.”

Virginia lawmakers ban guns at state Capitol

Virginia lawmakers voted Friday to ban firearms at the state Capitol, the first in what’s expected to be many contentious gun votes in coming weeks.

Newly empowered Democrats who made up a majority of a special rules committee voted to ban guns at the Capitol and a legislative office building despite bitter protests from Republicans, saying the move was needed to protect public safety.

“Our focus here is to keep everybody safe,” said House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn. “These are policies and rules that should have passed a long, long time ago.”

Public officials have expressed concerns about planned Jan. 20 rallies that are set to draw huge crowds of pro-gun and gun-control advocates. Gun advocates from around Virginia and even out of state have pledged to turn out in force to highlight their resistance to proposed gun-control measures.

Democrats initially indicated that the new ban had been recommended by law enforcement.

“I just have to say that this is something that’s been recommended by our Capitol Police. And I think there are times when we sort of have to trust what our law enforcement officers are telling us,” House Majority Leader Charniele Herring said.

But Capitol Police Col. Anthony Pike said after the vote that he made no recommendations on whether guns should be banned, only on how to implement the ban Democrats wanted. The new policy will require that everyone entering the Capitol, except for lawmakers, must go through a metal detector.

Passionate for God and Truth

What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, “That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged.”(Romans 3:3–4)

Our concern with truth is an inevitable expression of our concern with God. If God exists, then he is the measure of all things, and what he thinks about all things is the measure of what we should think.

Not to care about truth is not to care about God. To love God passionately is to love truth passionately. Being God-centered in life means being truth-driven in ministry. What is not true is not of God.

Ponder these four sets of texts on God and truth:

1) God Is the Truth

Romans 3:3–4 (God the Father): “What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar.”

John 14:6 (God the Son): Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 15:26 (God the Spirit): “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.”

2) Not Loving the Truth Is Eternally Ruinous

Second Thessalonians 2:10: The wicked will perish “because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.”

3) Christian Living Is Based on Knowledge of the Truth

First Corinthians 6:15–16: “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her?”

4) The Body of Christ Is Built with Truth in Love

Colossians 1:28: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”

May God make us passionate for him and for truth.

Frustration

So WRSA totally ruined my day with this headline…

MSN: “Justice Dept. winds down Clinton-related inquiry once championed by Trump. It found nothing of consequence.”

To say that i’m a little bit frustrated is an understatement. I’m really tired of the two-tiered justice system. Our Justice Department is a CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION!

Yet We the People do Nothing. I can hear the comments already. Well Wes why don’t you go and do something about all this corruption you always speak of.

I wish one man could change things, I really do.

So many things are going on in the world today it’s hard to stay focused. Virginia, Iran, Impeachment, the list goes on. The situation in our country is not going to get better by us just talking about all the wrongs. Actions have consequences, so does inaction.

Liberty is dependent upon real men, taking action in the real world. Real risks have to be faced, and real work has to be done. I’m tired of being slapped in the face everyday with the elites smug faces laughing at us because they walk free of crimes we deplorables would be in prison for, for life.

Tyranny can be defined by that which is legal for the government but illegal for the citizenry. We have a duty to rise up and strike down this tyranny that we face. It’s going to take more than one person. These communist among us will never stop.

I’ve written several times about how I believe the Rule of Law is and has been Dead. None of us have wanted to face the world we thought was coming in the future; now that future is here. There is no Rule of Law in this once great country. People will not accept the simple fact that there is no Republic without the Rule of Law.

We all know a conflict is coming. We can feel it. You can smell it in the air. You just know it. The only question is, what will finally ignite it?

War within our nation is inevitable. The utter destruction of the Rule of Law has sealed that fate.

The Declaration of Independence states that “when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government.” That time is upon us.

Our freedoms, our rights, our laws, are now, and always have been, our own responsibility to assert and to defend.
