They Are Systematically Destroying Our Independence And Making Us All Serfs Of The State

The percentage of Americans that are economically independent has dropped to a stunningly low level.  In order to be economically independent, you have got to be able to take care of yourself without any assistance from anyone else.  Unless you are independently wealthy, that means that you either have your own business or you have a full-time job.  Unfortunately, as you will see below, the percentage of Americans that are self-employed is at an all-time record low and the percentage of Americans with a full-time job has declined to a level not seen in about 30 years.  As a result, more Americans than ever find themselves forced to turn to the government for assistance.  When you add it all up, about half of all Americans get money from the government each month these days.  And yes, there will always be poor people that cannot take care of themselves that need help, but when you have more than half of the population dependent on the government that is a major problem.  You see, the truth is that our independence is systematically being taken away from us and we are steadily being made serfs of the state.  And once you become a serf of the state, it is very hard to resist anything the government is doing in a meaningful way.  After all, the money that you are getting from the government is enabling you to survive.  In essence, your allegiance has been at least partially purchased and you may not even realize it.

Of course this is not how the United States was supposed to operate.  We were never intended to be a collectivist nation.  Rather, we were intended to be a country where liberty and freedom thrived and where most people would be able to independently take care of themselves.

Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult to be economically independent in America today.  One reason for this is that the environment for small businesses in this country is the most toxic that it has ever been before.  The federal government, our state governments and even our local governments are constantly coming up with new ways to oppress small business.

And just this week we learned that the IRS is specifically targeting small business owners and sending them threatening letters.

SHOCK REPORT REVEALS ALARMING IRANIAN RECRUITMENT EFFORTS IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA

TheBlaze’s senior Washington correspondent Sara Carter appeared on TheBlaze TV Monday to discuss the growing issue of Islamic extremism in Central and South America — an issue both she and Glenn Beck have warned about for years.

Carter noted that the Washington Post recently came out with an article about a man named Moshen Rabbani, who is an Islamic cleric from Iran and a former cultural attache at the Iranian Embassy in Buenos Aires. He has also been accused of being the mastermind behind the bombing of a Jewish Community Center in 1994 that killed 85 people.

“He is the head of a group, a department in Iran, that actually spends all their time building cultural centers in South [and Central America]…recruiting young Latinos that he can take back to Iran to train and indoctrinate in the religious city of Qom,” Carter said.

Lee: Democrats Lack Will To Close Gov’t & Not Pay Soldiers Over Obamacare Defunding Fight

Sen. Mike LeeSenator Mike Lee (R-Utah), who is pushing to defund any further funding of Obamacare in the upcoming spending measure to keep the government running into the new fiscal year,  said Democrats lack the political will to shut the government down over Obamacare — and risk not paying U.S. soldiers, among other issues  — because the public does not support such divisive politics.

In speaking about the issue on Sean Hannity’s radio show on Monday, Lee said, “We’re saying the House should pass something that says we fund everything else in government but this does not include Obamacare funding, and we’re stopping all discretionary spending with this bill.  We then have another vote where they could try to insert Obamacare funding, and that’s not going to pass.”

McCrory Signs Voter ID Legislation

Common sense has prevailed in North Carolina as legislation has been signed by the governor to enact voter identification reform. If you have any compassion for your fellow liberal citizens, now would be a good time to show it since their ability to vote multiple times has been made more difficult (but not impossible).

Election changes coming in 2014, 2016

The rules for voting in North Carolina are about to change.

House Bill 589, which has passed the General Assembly has been signed by Gov. Pat McCrory, will require voters to show photo identification when they go to the polls starting in 2016. It also makes dozens of other changes to how the state conducts elections, which will start taking effect this fall and continue through 2014 and beyond.

The complex 49-page bill also changes the rules for those spending money on elections, the kind of ballots North Carolina voters will use and the rules for early voting. It also requires lawmakers to study a number of other changes that could be put in place. The bulk of the changes found in the bill are related to eight areas:

Over 900 people were arrested at “Immoral Monday” rallies and the taxpayers of Wake County have a large bill to pay for extra security at the General Assembly. Justice is 25 hours of community service for community organizers plus $180.

If there is no accountability for our actions, the rule of law is gone. How about jail time, probation and full restitution of all legal and security fees?

Wake DA offers deal to Moral Monday arrestees

The Wake County District Attorney’s office is hoping to avoid trying all 924 people that have been arrested at this year’s Moral Monday protests.

Wake DA Colon Willoughby is making arrestees an offer: Perform 25 hours community service and pay $180 in court costs, and the charges will be dismissed.

According to Willoughby, it’s called “deferred prosecution.” Arrestees don’t have to admit guilt if they fulfill the community service requirement and pay the court costs. After a set amount of time, usually six months, all charges are dismissed.

Obama Awarding Armored Tanks In Preparation Of Police State

As we incrementally creep closer to a police state,  the Lewiston Maine Police Department organizes an intimidation campaign to show off the newest crime fighting tools.

LPD recently unveiled the 1981 M113APC armored tank and  MARCbot IV robot,  equipped with a Xbox controller, to an unaware and uninformed general public.

This gift, courtesy of the Obama Administration, is free to the LPD as a reallocation of military surplus. Of course we all know nothing is free in this country.  And why does a town like Lewiston need an armored tank? It can’t be the crime, because in 2011 they recorded 3 murders and in 2009 they recorded zero murders.

For the first time, I have to question whether everyone should have the right to vote. I believe in the principles outlined in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

I believe that slavery is one of the evil institutions created by man and governments. If all people are free, the corollary should be that all adults should be allowed to vote. But at some point, we have to consider the consequences of everyone being allowed to vote for our “leaders” when it is obvious that the understanding of even the sanctity of human life is not understood. I cannot fathom how a man who supports infanticide was able to become president:

We reap what we sow. Our children are in the cross-hairs of tyranny. Liberty should never have been sold for an “entitlement”.

Security concerns jeopardize October opening of health insurance marketplaces

The opening of the health insurance marketplaces in October – key to Obamacare – is in jeopardy because of looming questions about information security. The problem stems from tight deadlines that must be met to ensure the security of data moving through an information system that supports the marketplaces, sometimes referred to as exchanges, according to a new government watchdog report.

At a cost of $394 million, the federal data-services hub will route requests from the marketplaces to existing federal and state databases.

The Obama administration had expected Tony Trenkle, the chief information officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, to decide Sept. 4 whether information routed through the hub was secure from hackers and identity thieves. But a new report by the inspector general for the Department of Health and Human Services says that decision now is expected Sept. 30, only a day before open enrollment on the marketplaces is scheduled to begin.

Any further delays, the report said, mean the chief information officer may not have enough time to gauge the security of data transfers. The Obama administration and private contractors are testing the data hub for defects and vulnerabilities, but a draft report with the results of the testing isn’t due until Sept. 20, the report noted.

Gold Shorts Cover At Fastest Pace In 13 Years

Gold is up $8.00, $15.00, $26.40 today. The price of gold at a minimum should be the cost to mine the gold, transport it and refine it. Currently the price of gold is about the cost to mine the gold. Silver is below the cost to mine it. The prices of gold and silver are going up as JP Morgan is struggling to cover their short positions. Where will it end? Only China knows: once they announce a gold backed Yuan, the value of a US FRN will be worth less.

Gold shorts covered an enormous 23,518 futures contracts last week – the equivalent of 2,351,800 ounces of gold. With JPMorgan appearing to be calling everyone (here and here) to get their hands on gold to deliver, it seems our concerns over a short-squeeze are starting to solidify. The last time shorts collapsed at this fast a rate was in the 1999/2000 period which saw a considerable 33% squeeze ramp in gold prices over the space of 3 weeks in the fall of 1999. Notably, the gold short position still remains huge compared to historical values – having fallen back only to the previous all-time record high levels (i.e. plenty of room for moar squeeze). In addition to this surge in covering, Gold ETFs saw their first inflows in 2 months.

Federal Reserve Warns Leveraged ETFs Could Trigger 1987-Style “Cascade” In Stocks

In a 43-page research report, the Federal Reserve has authored a rather concerning tome warning that the mechanical positive-feedback rebalancing of Leverage ETFs (LETFs) resembles the portfolio insurance strategies, which contributed to the stock market crash of October 19, 1987. The impact of LETFs on broad stock-market indexes become significant during periods of high volatility (shown empirically in 2008/9 and H2 2011) as they show that LETF rebalancing in response to a large market move could amplify the move and force them to further rebalance which may trigger a “cascade” reaction. Furthermore, executing orders within a short period of time, such as the last hour of trading, may cause disproportionate price changes (especially in financial stocks). The Fed warns that a significant price reduction at market close may also impair investor confidence with accelerating depressed prices at the closepotentially driving large investor outflows overnight.

In more damaging leaked documents from the NSA, it has been revealed that starting in 2014 all mail will be processed through a new postal facility that will receive, open, scan, and then distribute all letters and parcels mailed in the US or abroad that will be delivered to US addresses. Currently there are several mail receiving centers where all incoming parcels from foreign countries are currently inspected for drugs or other banned or dangerous substances like beauty products. Starting next year it is not only planned to open all parcels, but to start scanning all letters so that the content of each envelope can be digitally imaged and then stored in the massive NSA data center.
censored mail..jpg It is hinted that since all e-mail traffic is already intercepted, that terrorists and other thought kriminals might find a low tech alternative to electronic communications, old fashioned snail mail. Not only will it level the playing field, but provide more embarrassing images on social networking sights as NSA employees share some of the more racy correspondence with family and friends.
