India, Pakistan exchange more gunfire, ceasefire under strain

India and Pakistan exchanged more gunfire across the disputed border in Kashmir on Sunday, Indian border guards said, as a 10-year ceasefire frays over accusations of killings of soldiers deployed on the frontline.

One Indian border guard was wounded after Pakistan Rangers opened fire on a post in Kanachak, some 40 km (25 miles) southwest of Jammu, the winter capital of India’s Jammu and Kashmir state, the Border Security Force said.

“It was an unprovoked firing on an International Border post from the other side. However, we responded with utmost restraint,” a spokesman of the Border Security Force said.

There was no immediate comment from Islamabad.

Tensions along the 740-km Line of Control that divides Kashmir rose on Tuesday when an Indian army patrol was ambushed and five soldiers killed in the Poonch region. New Delhi blamed the attack on the Pakistan army. Islamabad denied involvement.

The two armies also exchanged heavy fire on Friday in the Poonch region, Indian authorities said, straining the ceasefire that has largely held on the border since November 2003.

A Quadrillion Yen And Counting – The Japanese Debt Bomb Could Set Off Global Panic At Any Moment

Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, Japan

How much is 1,000,000,000,000,000 yen worth?  Well, a quadrillion yen is worth approximately 10.5 trillion dollars.  It is an amount of money that is larger than the “the economies of Germany, France and the U.K. combined“.  It is such an astounding amount of debt that it is hard to even get your mind around it.  The government debt to GDP ratio in Japan will reach247 percent this year, and the Japanese currently spend about 50 percent of all central government tax revenue on debt service.  Realistically, there are only two ways out of this overwhelming debt trap for the Japanese.  Either they default or they try to inflate the debt away.  At this point, the Japanese have chosen to try to inflate the debt away.  They have initiated the greatest quantitative easing experiment that a major industrialized nation has attempted since the days of the Weimar Republic.  Over the next two years, the Bank of Japan plans to zap 60 trillion yen into existence out of thin air and use it to buy government bonds.  By the time this program is over, the monetary base in Japan will have approximately doubled.  But authorities in Japan are desperate.  They know that the Japanese debt bomb could set off global panic at any time, and they are trying to find a way out that will not cause too much pain.

Unfortunately, the only way that this bizarre quantitative easing program will work is if investors in Japanese bonds act very, very irrationally.  You see, the only way that Japan has been able to pile up this much debt in the first place is because they have been able to borrow gigantic piles of money at super low interest rates.

Right now, the yield on 10 year Japanese bonds is sitting at an absurdly low 0.76%.  But even with such ridiculously low interest rates, the central government of Japan is still spending about half of all tax revenue on debt service.

If interest rates go up, the game is over.

Radioactive Water Spills Over Fukushima Barrier, Flooding Surroundings

It was only last week that yet another conspiracy theory became fact when we learned, for the first time after nearly three years of lies, that Tepco had been deceitful and wrong with its “all clear” message about Fukushima, and that instead some 300 tons of contaminated, irradiated water had been flowing into the Pacific ocean every day. So now that the opportunity cost of telling more lies is zero, and the radioactive cat is out of the bag, so to say, the news about the absolute, unmitigated disaster that Fukushima is, and will be for decades, are coming fast and furious. Sure enough, moments ago Tepco reported, and Kyodo confirmed, that radioactive water has risen above the protective barrier and is freely leaking into the surrounding environment.

Finally, for those Americans who think all of this is irrelevant

[…] A mathematical model developed by Changsheng Chen of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and Robert Beardsley of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute found that radioactive particles disperse through the ocean differently at different depths. The scientists estimated that in some cases, contaminated seawater could reach the western coast of the United States in as little as five years. [Ken Buesseler, a senior scientist with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution who has analyzed thousands of samples of fish from the area]thinks the process occurs a bit more rapidly, and estimates it might take three years for contamination to reach the U.S. coastline.

Hamas supplied Sinai terrorists with Iran-made Fajr-5 missiles for foiled attack on Eilat

Iran-made Fajr-5 missiles in Sinai

The missile launcher destroyed by two rockets fired by an Israeli drone at Ajarah in North Sinai Friday, Aug. 9 was capable of firing 4 heavy Iranian-made M-75 missiles known as Fajr-5, which Hamas possesses, but not Sinai Salafists

Its 75-kilometer range covers Tel Aviv from Gaza Strip or Eilat from inland Sinai. The five terrorists killed in the drone strike were prevented from launching these rockets against Eilat airport Thursday by a tip-off from Egyptian intelligence to Israel. The Fajr-5 proved its high accuracy by leveling a building in the central Israeli town of Rishon Lezion on Nov. 20,  2012.

Since then, Hamas has upgraded the Fajar-5’s performance with an integrated radar system. It is carried by an Iranian made vehicle. DEBKAfile’s military sources have not yet established whether Hamas handed the Iranian weapon over to the Salafist Bedouin acting in concert with al Qaeda in Sinai before the Egyptian army placed the Gaza Strip under siege in early July, or smuggled it across more recently. Even though Egyptian forces destroyed many of the Sinai-Gaza smuggling tunnels ahead of their counter-terror operation in Sinai, they may have missed a couple.

The Iranian rocket, which is 10 meters long, 333mm diameter and weighs 9 tons, is based on a 302mm Chinese rocket sold to Tehran in the 1990s and reproduced as Fajr-5. To move it through the smuggling tunnels, the missile would have had to be broken down into 8-10 sections and then reassembled at the other end, a function only Hamas is qualified to perform. It is also possible that a terrorist cell managed to infiltrate Sinai in recent days and collected the Fajr missile system from Hamas, which is trained in its operation..

Neither Egypt nor Israel has provided any clues to the identities of the five dead terrorists.

Now That the “Threat” Is Averted, Can We Address Obama’s Phony Scandals?

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

After a full week where the United States has capitulated to a “terrorist” threat, the president has decided to reopen 18 embassies. And then he goes on vacation.

Indulge me by considering a few questions now that the “threat” is averted?

1. What is the status of the IRS Tea Party investigation?

2. What is the status of the Benghazi coverup?

3. What is the status of the relationship between the US and Turkey now that their top generals have been imprisoned for life by Erdogan?

4. Will the United States ever have a federal budget as required by the Constitution?

5. What is the status of Egypt’s government?

Satire Gives Us Food for Thought

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4z09el30f8

According to our federal government and militarized police, patriots are terrorists. If you believe in the Constitution, you are a terrorist. If you believe in God, sovereign rights or are a veteran, then you are a terrorist. Or a possible terrorist. What is the difference? That is the point: in our country, the NDAA and the president’s kill list render the distinction between the two moot.

Should you develop code phrases that seem innocuous (or not, as in the above video) in order to bypass government surveillance? Of course. In fact, these phrases should have already been developed along with contingency plans for your family and friends. What would your family do if all forms of communications were down? Where would you meet and within what time frame? What would be a secondary meeting point?

These points and questions only prove a simple fact: we no longer live in the United States of America that our parents did.

I miss America but I will not forget.

Pimp Daddy Sam

I’m thinking that we should change the pet name for our government from “Uncle Sam” to “Pimp Daddy Sam”.  Just think about it – pimps convince naive, desperate people that they are incapable of caring for themselves.  They convince their victims that they need a “strong arm” to provide for them and protect them.  Slowly, they establish their control.  They begin by providing basic necessities – food, clothing, shelter.  And then, little by little, they infuse their prey with mind-killing substances, effectively chaining them in bonds of slavery.  And, having effected complete control, the pimp becomes the master.

For well over a hundred years, our government, our “pimp”, has been positioning us for the ultimate slavery.  While speaking of the evils of slavery, even waging a war in the name of freedom for all men, they quietly, discreetly assumed the role of supreme slave-owner.  Convincing us they were battling for the soul of the nation, they were actually putting their competition to the sword.

We listened to the siren song of our “pimp”.  We believed him when he told us that he was fighting for us, providing for us.  We began to look to him to be our all – our everything.   The closer we drew, the more bound, dependent we became.  And now, a new slavery is upon us.  One of our own making.  And this slavery is more insidious than the the last.  The slavery we abolished chained only our bodies – this slavery chains our very souls.

Common Core Brainwashing Our Children in North Carolina

A substitute teacher in North Carolina recently sent Glenn Beck a copy of a poem that she claims roughly 80 fifth-grade students recited for their promotion ceremony (like graduation) at a school near Raleigh.

The poem does not, as some might expect, celebrate school being done for the year, friendship, memories, or anything of the like.  Instead, it praises the virtues of the controversial “Common Core” education initiative.

The poem is titled “We Learned More With Common Core,” and the phrase is repeated over and over.

It reads:

Text genre, features & theme to explore

We learned more with common core.

Fractions, decimals, journal prompts galore

We learned more with common core.

RUNNER & CUBES are strategies for

Learning more with common core.
