It’s A “0.6%” World: Who Owns What Of The $223 Trillion In Global Wealth

Back in 2010 we started an annual series looking at the (re)distribution in the wealth of nations and social classes. What we found then (and what the media keeps rediscovering year after year to its great surprise) is that as a result of global central bank policy, the rich got richer, and the poor kept on getting poorer, even though as we predicted the global political powers would, at least superficially, seek to enforce policies that aimed to reverse this wealth redistribution from the poor to the rich (a doomed policy as the world’s legislative powers are largely in the lobby pocket of the world’s wealthiest who needless to say are less then willing to enact laws that reduce their wealth and leverage). Now that the topic of wealth distribution (or rather concentration) is once again in vogue, below we present the latest such update looking at a global portrait of household wealth. The bottom line: 29 million, or 0.6% of those with any actual assets under their name, own $87.4 trillion, or 39.3% of all global assets.

Fix 589 — The Stealing Hands Ad

Call or write your representative. Tell him or her there are FAR too many forms of acceptable voter IDs in this Bill (H589)

THE PROBLEM:  As passed by the North Carolina House, HB 589 is seriously flawed! It will not stop any organized criminal voter fraud programs. In fact, the Beaufort Observer called the bill a “Fake” Voter ID Bill.  Here’s why:
  • The law allows expired driver’s licenses to be used as voter id. Learn more
  • The law allows up to 500 different types of id cards to be used as voter id. Learn more
  • The law will not be enforced until after the 2014 election. Learn more 
THE SOLUTION:  The bill now goes to the North Carolina Senate, where it must be fixed.  It will most likely come up for a vote in the Senate in June.  Here’s how HB 589 can be fixed:
  • Allow only the following as valid id:  unexpired driver’s license or non-operator’s license, valid military id (with proof of residency), current US passport (with proof of residency)
  • Any voter who does not have one of these valid IDs will still be able to vote, but must sign an affidavit attesting to their identity.  Affidavits will include a digital photograph that will be taken at the polls.  This affidavit will become a part of the public record and will be retained for a minimum of 22 months (as ballots are already retained).

  • March 13, 2013 letter: HUD says real goal for affordable housing units is 10,768  — not the 750 that was agreed to in the settlement.
  • March 25, 2013 letter: HUD threatend to reallocate $7.4 million previously promised to Westchester and local communities.

Thomas DiLorenzo: More on the Myth of Lincoln, Secession and the ‘Civil War’

Lincoln mythology is the ideological cornerstone of American statism. He was in reality the most hated of all American presidents during his lifetime according to an excellent book by historian Larry Tagg entitled The Unpopular Mr. Lincoln: America’s Most Reviled President. He was so hated in the North that the New York Times editorialized a wish that he would be assassinated. This is perfectly understandable: He illegally suspended Habeas Corpus and imprisoned tens of thousands of Northern political critics without due process; shut down over 300 opposition newspapers; committed treason by invading the Southern states (Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution defines treason as “only levying war upon the states” or “giving aid and comfort to their enemies,” which of course is exactly what Lincoln did). He enforced military conscription with the murder of hundreds of New York City draft protesters in 1863 and with the mass execution of deserters from his army. He deported a congressional critic (Democratic Congressman Clement Vallandigham of Ohio); confiscated firearms; and issued an arrest warrant for the Chief Justice when the jurist issued an opinion that only Congress could legally suspend Habeas Corpus. He waged an unnecessary war (all other countries ended slavery peacefully in that century) that resulted in the death of as many as 850,000 Americans according to new research published in the last two years. Standardizing for today’s population, that would be similar to 8.5 million American deaths in a four-year war.

“Syrian batteries are in a high state of operability, ready to fire at short notice,” said Israel Air Force Colonel Zvika Haimovich in special briefings to international media Friday. He disclosed that Israel tracks every missile fired in the Syrian civil war, since southward launches would give Israel mere seconds to determine it was not the true target. “All it would take is a few degrees’ change in the flight path to endanger us.”

Speaking at the Palmachim air and missile base south of Tel Aviv, Col. Haimovich explained that long-range radars feed real-time data on the barrages to the base command where officers are braced to activate Arrow II. The more threatening launches set off sirens in Palmachim. Warplanes there are also on standby to scramble.

“We are looking at all aspects, from the performance of weaponry to the way the Syrians use it,” said the Israeli air force officer. “They have used everything that I am aware exists in their missile and rocket arsenal [against Syrian rebel forces]. They are improving all the time, and so are we… but we need to study and be prepared.”

Another Israeli expert, speaking on condition of anonymity, described a combination of split-second analysis of the strength of the launch with up-to-date intelligence on Bashar Assad’s intentions. He said Israel had beefed up its deployment to more than four nationwide batteries, to allow for repeated interception of any incoming missile. The intention is “to ensure that we have at least two opportunities to intercept. We have not yet been called into action on the northern front, but I believe that we will be,” said this officer.

Let’s make an assumption that Obama won his second term fraudulently. Based on the rule of law and the Constitution, he would be removed from office. And then what? Massive civil unrest in the streets of our major cities and the possible collapse of the federal government?

If we are even having this discussion, the federal government and Constitution are already lost.

Jefferson Davis still remembered in Dixie

During these “political correct” times Southerners are often depicted on TV and in the movies as backward and dumb. The truth is that the South is the birth place of many intelligent, well-spoken and patriotic people like that of Jefferson Davis who was a great orator and there was standing room only on the floors of the United States Senate when he delivered his February 9, 1861 resignation speech as Mississippi Senator.

The time is long overdue for school teachers throughout this nation to teach not only the historical facts about Abraham Lincoln, but also those about Jefferson Davis.Mr. Spielberg, would you direct and produce a movie about Jefferson Davis who like Lincoln was born in the State of Kentucky?

Jefferson Davis like many Southerners was against secession but recognized the sovereignty of each state of the Union and their Constitutional right to secede.
