Initial Jobless Claims Soar, Biggest Miss Since November

And the economic (downside) hits keep on coming: PMI, ISM, Non-Mfg ISM, ADP and now Initial claims – five out of five misses as the US economy slowly but surely joins the rest of the world in resuming its downward trajectory. Moments ago initial claims printed a whopping 385K, far above expectations of 353K, and far above the upwardly revised 357K (was 353K before). This was the biggest miss to expectations since November. Also, excluding the Sandy aberration,  this was the biggest two week surge in claims since April 2011. Continuing claims also missed, printing at 3063K, above expectations of 3050K. Sure enough, the excuses begin: sequester, Easter (two states estimated which means actual number is likely even worse), weather (unclear if warm or hot), Cyprus, and generally, stuff… Just not the economy. Never the actual economy. Because it is impossible that with $85 billion inject per month into the market economy, that things would be just getting worse and worse.

New Fatwa Permits Rape of Non-Sunni Women in Syria

‘Ajlawni: Justifying rape in Islam’s name

Yet another Islamic cleric recently made it permissible for the Islamic fighters waging a jihad in Syria—politely known as “the opposition”—to rape the nation’s women.

Salafi Sheikh Yasir al-‘Ajlawni, a Jordanian of origin who earlier lived in Damascus, Syria for 17 years, posted a YouTube video last week where he said he was preparing to issue a “legitimate fatwa” making it legal (in the eyes of Islam) for those Muslims fighting to topple secular president Bashar Assad and install Sharia law to “capture and have sex with” all non-Sunni women, specifically naming Assad’s own sect, the Alawites, as well as the Druze and several others, in short, all non-Sunnis and non-Muslims.

The sheikh used Islam’s legitimate Arabic term for these hapless, non-Muslim women, melk al-yamin, a phrase that appears in Islam’s sacred book, the Koran, and which is simply a reference to non-Muslim sex-slaves.  For example, Koran 4:3 commands Muslim men to “Marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four… or what your right hands possess.”  Islam’s ulema, or “scholars,” are unanimously agreed that “what your right hands possess” is, according to Islamic law, simply a sex-slave. Linguistic evidence further suggests that she is seen more as an animal or a possession than a human—hence this inhuman fatwa.

Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette, a lead sponsor of the federal ban on personal defense-capacity magazines showed a Denver Post forum she doesn’t have a clue as to what it is she wants to ban, and the “clarifying” statement made by her spokeswoman served to confirm the ignorance of both women.

“I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available,” DeGette claimed when asked how a ban would help reduce violence committed with firearms.

Will Globalists Use North Korea To Trigger Catastrophe?

Whenever discussion over North Korea arises in Western circles, it always seems to be accompanied by a strange mixture of sensationalism and indifference. The mainstream media consistently presents the communist nation as an immediate threat to U.S. national security, conjuring an endless number of hypothetical scenarios as to how they could join forces with Al-Qaeda and attack with a terroristic strategy. At the same time, the chest puffing of the late Kim Jong-iL and the standard fare of hyper-militant rhetoric on the part of the North Korean government in general seem to have lulled the American public into a trance of non-concern.

In the midst of the latest tensions with the North Koreans, I have found that most people are barely tracking developments and that, when confronted by the idea of war, they shrug it off as if it is a laughable concept. “Surely” they claim, “The North is just posturing as they always have.”

The high-focus propaganda attacking North Korea on our side and the puffer fish methodology on their side have created a social and political atmosphere surrounding our relations with the Asian nation that I believe places both sides of the Pacific in great danger. North Korea has the potential to become a trigger point for multiple economic catastrophes, and there are people in this world who would be happy to use such crises to serve their own interests.

N. Korea approves nuclear strike on US

The North Korean army said Thursday it had final approval to launch “merciless” military strikes on the United States, involving the possible use of “cutting-edge” nuclear weapons.

In a statement published by the official KCNA news agency, the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) said it was formally informing Washington that reckless US threats would be “smashed by… cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means”.

41% in Bankrupt Stockton Don’t Speak English at Home; 21% Can’t Speak It Very Well

In Stockton, Calif., which has just entered into Chapter 9 bankruptcy, 41 percent of the people do not speak English at home and 21 percent cannot speak it very well, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Data that the Census Bureau developed on what it calls the “social characteristics” of Stockton during the five-year period from 2007 to 2011, indicate that this city, located eighty miles east of San Francisco in California’s San Joaquin Valley, had a population of 289,926.

Of those 289,926 people, 76,869 (or about 27 percent) were foreign born, according to the Census Bureau. Of these foreign-born, 43,084 (or about 15 percent of this city’s total population) were not U.S. citizens.

Looking at the subset of Stockton’s population that was five years old or older (264,713), the Census Bureau estimated there were 119,991 people who did not speak English at home. These 119,991 people equaled about 41 percent of Stockton’s overall population of 289,926 people and about 45 percent of the 264,713 people in the city who were five years old or older.

The Census Bureau also estimated that there were 59,577 people over the age of five in Stockton who “speak English less than ‘very well.’” These 59,577 people in Stockton who had not mastered English equaled about 21 percent of the city’s total population and about 23 percent of its residents who were five years or older.

Big Labor Scores a Win

Organized labor succeeded in attaining special provisions in the illegal immigration compromise that will boost union contract prospects.

The AFL-CIO and U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed a package of immigration reforms on Friday after months of negotiations. Under the deal, 200,000 work visas would be issued each year, up from 66,000. Companies would be forced to pay those workers “prevailing wages” dictated by the Department of Labor’s regional standards.

Prevailing wages, which were first adopted nationally with the Davis-Bacon Act, require employers to pay workers at industry standards that are often determined by union pay, according to Steve Allen of the Capital Research Center.

“[Prevailing wage is] usually interpreted to be union wages, which gives unions advantages in bidding for contracts,” Allen said. “It raises prices for whoever’s paying for the project and by requiring union wage regardless, you might as well hire the union guy.”

Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children

My name is John Akins. I am a Denver Police Officer and have been for 13 years. I am proud to protect the citizenry of the Mile High City and feel satisfaction when I provide criminals in my city with a full and complete experience in the criminal justice system. Today I feel shame in the decisions of our department leaders. Today, President Obama and Governor Hickenlooper are going to use the Denver Police Academy as a prop to push a political agenda. I attended the Denver Police Academy and graduated in the very same converted aircraft hangar that the speech will be given in. That hangar, the badge hanging on the wall, and the officers standing in the crowd will now be forever attached to the agenda of a political party and it’s push to strip Americans of their rights.

Our department issued an order that officers will not give opinions on the gun control debate in an official capacity. (See disclaimer below) Our command staff and city government then permit this speech to happen. Not only do they permit it, they condone it. Officers will be able to attend this political function while on duty. As a pro-2nd Amendment police officer I have asked previously if I can stand with my fellow patriots in defense of the Constitution while in uniform. The answer was always a resounding no. I asked if I could stand with the NRA and RMGO as they protest this speech and try to protect our rights in our city and do it in uniform but on my own time. I was told absolutely not. Then why is it acceptable that officers can stand in support of anti-gun agendas while on duty and in uniform? This speech will attach the stigma of anti-gun rights support to Officers in the Denver Police Department. It will serve as a clear indication of bias by the mayor of Denver and the command staff of the Denver Police Department.

Interim Wake County Public School System Superintendent Stephen Gainey has resigned effective July 1. I wonder how many other people will be leaving this political battlefield formally known as public education in Wake County? After the termination of Tony Tata at a cost of $250,000 to county taxpayers and the short longevity of previous superintendents, people may start to understand how politics and indoctrination have replaced the role of education in our school system.

Interim Superintendent Stephen Gainey announced on Tuesday, April 2, that he has accepted the position of Superintendent of Randolph County Schools, effective July 1.

“I started working at the Wake County Public School System 20 years ago as a math teacher and coach,” Gainey said. “Working with Wake County’s students, educators, staff, and other professionals has been tremendously rewarding.”

Gainey began his career with Wake County as a teacher at Apex High School and worked as an assistant principal and principal before joining WCPSS Central Services as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in 2009. In September 2012, the Board of Education appointed Gainey to the role of interim superintendent.“On behalf of the board, we would like to thank Dr. Gainey for his years of dedication and service to the Wake County Public School System,” Board of Education Chairman Keith Sutton said. “We wish him the best as he heads into his new role.”

Another Miscarriage of Justice

The Obama administration is attempting to deport a German family that came to America seeking asylum from a Nazi-era law that prohibits homeschooling.

Uwe and Hannelore Romeike decided to homeschool their children in 2006 because the curriculum at their public school ran counter to the family’s Christian convictions.

German law mandates that children attend a public or state-approved school. The local mayor informed the family that they would face fines and could lose the custody of their children if they did not attend school. The parents also faced potential jail time.

The government fined the family heavily and at one point seized the children to force them to attend school.

After trying to secure an exemption from the law, the Romeikes fled the country and immigrated to Tennessee in 2008. They had been fined well over $10,000 by the time they fled and faced escalating fines if they continued to homeschool their children.

The family applied for asylum in the United States and an immigration judge granted it to them, citing a well-founded fear of persecution if they returned to Germany.

However, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), appealed the ruling to the Board of Immigration Appeals.
