The situation in Cyprus reminds me of watching the Iron Curtain fall in Berlin. The collapse of the Soviet Union, 9/11, the Gulf War, or the earthquake in Japan also kept us mesmerized as we watched and wondered how this will impact our lives. The people in Cyprus are not really being considered: the world is wondering what the impact will be on them. The unfortunate truth is that there will be an impact as the Euro and the European Union collapses.

What should you do personally? You already should have pulled your money out of the banks and stock markets (including retirement accounts). Whoever bet $900 million on the collapse of the Euro within two weeks:

  1. Either has foolproof knowledge of its collapse.
  2. Or is manipulating its collapse.

Individuals will have no input on what is about to happen. But that is no reason not to prepare. Since ammunition is not an option, food and gasoline are looking good.

Time To Plan For The Worst Rather Than Hope For The Best

Preparation for disaster, whether natural or man-made, should be as vital as any ideal found in the various practices of religion and spiritualism. Preparedness should be treated with reverence, discipline and duty. The drive for preparation should be seated in the very heart of humanity. As individuals and as a society, we should hold preparedness dear, for it is an expression of the desire for survival and the key to maintaining our inherent freedoms. Without self-sufficiency, we set ourselves up for endless failure and enslavement.

Preparedness must be approached with passionate resolve; otherwise, there is no point. Halfhearted survivalists are just as likely, if not more likely, to get themselves killed as the average oblivious urbanite and suburbanite. Unfortunately, even in the liberty movement, I have come across many halfhearted and lazy survivalists who would rather hope for the best than prepare for the worst.

The primary issue has always been one of “distraction.” Even those who are fully informed of the very real and immediate dangers to our economy and our Nation as a whole find it difficult not to get wrapped up in the concerns of the old America. Mind-numbing job environments, superficial family dramas, television hypnosis, Facebook narcissism, consumer addictions, improving one’s perceived social status: all of these things waste precious time in our daily lives, making us weak and sapping our resiliency. They encourage us toward apathy. Always, we are telling ourselves: “I did nothing today, but tomorrow will be different.”

Catholic Bishops: Administration Persists With ‘Unjust and Unlawful Mandate’

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops filed comments with the Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday stating that the regulation that HHS issued under Obamacare that requires most health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs continues to be an “unjust and unlawful mandate” despite the “accommodations” that the administration proposed last month.

The bishops reiterated their position that “the mandate should rescinded.”

“In short,” said the bishops’ comments, “the Administration continues to propose: (a) un unjust and unlawful mandate; (b) no exemption or ‘accommodation’ at all for most stakeholders in the health insurance process, such as individual employees and for-profit employers; (c) an unreasonably and unlawfully narrow exemption for some nonprofit religious organizations, mostly houses of worship; and (d) an ‘accommodation’ that still requires bona fide religious employers that fall outside the narrow government definition of ‘religious employer’ to fund or facilitate the objectionable coverage.”

“The current proposal, like previous ones, would mandate coverage of abortifacient drugs, contraceptives, sterilization procedures for women, and related education and counseling in health plans,” said the comments.

Joe Landolina may have invented a cure for bleeding. He claims that his creation, a substance called Veti-Gel, jump-starts the clotting and healing process so quickly that even wounds to internal organs or major arteries are able to close up instantaneously. And Joe has accomplished all this by his third year of college at NYU.

“It instantly tells the body, ‘OK, stop the bleeding,’ but also it starts the healing process,” said Landolina.

Veti-Gel (also sometimes called Medi-Gel) is a synthetic form of the extracellular matrix, or ECM, the substance that forms a kind of scaffolding in the body that holds cells together and also triggers the clotting process if there is an injury. In tests on rats, Landolina was able to close up a slice into the liver and a puncture of the carotid artery. (He plans to publish the results in about two months.)

The phrase “Too Big To Fail” should have been our first hint that our economic problems cannot be fixed. What does that mean? An economic collapse and reset. What does that mean? The dollar will become worthless. Some believe that the dollar will become “worth less”.  The Federal Reserve has already accomplished that objective:  worth 98% less since 1913. And this devaluation rate is rapidly increasing as we know when buying gasoline or food.

Organizing for Action Confirms it Will Not Release Full Donor Information

President Barack Obama’s recently formed dark-money group Organizing for Action confirmed to the Center for Public Integrity Thursday that it would not release donor information such as employer and occupation despite collecting the data in its online donor application.

The Center for Public Integrity reports:

“Our voluntary disclosure will be posted on our website with the exact dollar donation, name and city and state of the donor,” Organizing for Action spokeswoman Katie Hogan told the Center for Public Integrity.

As a practical matter, a lack of employer and occupation information makes it more difficult for the public to determine the corporate, union or special interest ties donors may have.

–$15,094,000,000,000 – U.S. GDP.  It is a measure of all economic activity in the United States for a single year.

What Happened to Colorado?

Colorado used to be a bellwether state. Now it has become a breeding ground for the liberal agenda where morality is under constant attack. The latest “victory” is the legalization of same sex unions. How fast has this state turned? In 2006, Colorado voters outlawed same-sex marriages. In last year’s election, marijuana was legalized. As another example of our two-tiered justice system, the federal government is not enforcing federal laws criminalizing marijuana possession. This recently turned blue state is undergoing a transformation that will lead to its moral and economic bankruptcy.

As Colorado eviscerates the 2nd amendment, try to remember how this state used to be.

Colorado Approves Same-Sex Unions

With a stroke of the governor’s pen, Colorado on Thursday legalized civil unions for same-sex couples, a major shift for a Western state where voters outlawed same-sex marriages in 2006.

The law makes Colorado the 18th state to allow gay marriage or some form of same-sex union, and its signing comes days before the Supreme Court hears two major cases on marriage equality.

For many gay Coloradans, it was a jubilant — if almost unreal — moment.

“When we started fighting for it, this was a foregone conclusion that it wasn’t going to happen,” said Jerry Cunningham, the publisher of the magazine Out Front Colorado. “It’s kind of amazing. It’s creating an awareness that we can have relationships. It validates it and legitimizes it, and says it’s O.K.”

Across Colorado, couples are already making plans. Denver’s fourth annual gay and lesbian wedding expo is being held at the end of April (“Begin planning your own dream civil union!”) and the county clerks in Denver and Boulder are planning to open their offices at midnight on May 1 — when the law takes effect — to hand out the first civil union licenses.

Police are looking into whether or not a shootout with police officers in Texas is linked to the murder of Colorado prison chief Tom Clements, CBS Denver affiliate KCNC reports.

Clements, the executive director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, was killed after he answered the door at his home in Monument Tuesday night.

Texas authorities are checking whether a shooting suspect’s black Cadillac with Colorado plates was the same car spotted near the Clements’ home the night he was killed.

The driver in the car chase, which ended with a crash in Decatur, Texas, has been declared legally dead at an area hospital and is being kept on machines for potential organ donation..

“After the suspect was struck by the 18-wheeler he exited the vehicle with a firearm and engaged our deputies in a firefight. None of the deputies were hit by any suspect shots. The suspect was hit as the deputies returned fire,” said Wise County Sheriff David Walker.
