Sheikh Mubarik Gilani
An organization known as Jamaat ul-Fuqra (“Community of the Impoverished”) was founded about 1980 by a known terrorist, the Pakistani Sufi Sheikh Syed Mubarak Ali Hasmi Shah Gilani. Over several decades JuF has established a network of dozens of rural training compounds across the United States and Canada.
I have written extensively on Jamaat ul-Fuqra in the past. For more on this group and its activities, see the Jamaat ul-Fuqra Archives. The first post in the series describes my initial visit to Red House in October 2005 — which seems like a million years ago now — and contains a lot of background material on Sheikh Gilani and Jamaat ul-Fuqra.
The group was incorporated in 1985 as “Muslims of the Americas” (MOA), and is also known as “The Muslims of America”, as you can see from the photo of the sign at the top of this post, which stands at the entrance to the MOA compound in Red House.
Sheikh Gilani and his followers seem unconcerned about consistency of wording and spelling: the organization is sometimes also known as “Jamaat al-Fuqra”. The Sheikh himself spells his surname variously as “Gilani”, “Gillani”, “Jilani”, or “Jillani”, and his principle forename as “Mubarik” or “Mubarak”. These orthographic variations helped make my initial Internet research more difficult, forcing me to search repeatedly using different combinations of spellings.
Regardless of the spelling, the Muslims of America have been and remain the same organization, made up largely of African-American converts (many of them recruited in prison) who are devoted to their Sheikh in Pakistan, and are reportedly required to send him 30% of their income.
Chadian soldiers in Mali have killed Mokhtar Belmokhtar, the al Qaeda mastermind of a bloody hostage-taking at an Algerian gas plant in January, Chad’s military said on Saturday.
The death of one of the world’s most wanted jihadists would be a major blow to al Qaeda in the region and to the Islamist rebels forced to flee towns they had seized in northern Mali by an offensive by French and African troops.
“On Saturday, March 2, at noon, Chadian armed forces operating in northern Mali completely destroyed a terrorist base (…) The toll included several dead terrorists, including their leader Mokhtar Belmokhtar,” Chad’s armed forces said in a statement read on national television.
On Friday, Chad’s President Idriss Deby said his soldiers had killed another al Qaeda commander, Adelhamid Abou Zeid, among 40 militants who died in an operation in the same area as Saturday’s assault – Mali’s Adrar des Ifoghas mountains near the Algerian border – on Monday.

What matters is how you perceive what they’re telling you.
When two weeks ago we exposed the heretofore secret location of JPM’s London gold vault (located under the firm’s massive L-shaped office complex at 60 Victoria Embankment) we thought: what about New York? After all, while London is the legacy financial capital of the “old world“, it is New York that the biggest private wealth of the past century is concentrated, and it is also New York where the bulk of the hard assets backing the public money of the world’s sovereigns are located, some 80 feet below ground level in the fifth sub-basement of the New York Fed, resting on the bedrock of Manhattan.
That the topic of the gold “held” by the New York Fed – historically considered the gold vault with the largest concentration of gold bars in the world – has become rather sensitive, in the aftermath of the Deutschebank’s request to repatriate it (surely, but very, very slowly), is an understatement. Yet in the aftermath of some of the revelations presented here, we believe quite a few other countries will follow in Germany’s footsteps for one very simple reason: suddenly the question of whether their gold is located at 33 Liberty, or just adjacent to it, in what we have learned is the de facto largest gold vault in the world, located across the street 90 feet below 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza, doesn’t appear to have a clear answer.
As the government continues to redistribute the middle class into a new world order, this does not mean that the looters in charge are not going to rape the country’s resources prior to the impending economic collapse. This “China Deal” seems like a page right out of Atlas Shrugged. With the collapse of the Keystone Pipeline and the shutdown of the Gulf of Mexico to US markets, the ever increasing cost of gasoline will not be subsiding anytime soon. I wonder where we would be if the North Dakota shale oil boom (again right out of Atlas Shrugged) was not supplying some of our energy requirements?

A small group of anti-Morsi demonstrators marched from Cairo’s Tahrir Square, the center of the 2011 uprising, to the foreign ministry to protest about Kerry’s visit.
Some held up cartoons of Kerry, portraying him with an Islamic beard, saying “Kerry – member of the Brotherhood”. Others banners said “Kerry, you are not welcome here” and showed the characteristic mustache and fringe of Adolf Hitler superimposed on pictures of Morsi.
So much for Joe Biden’s statement concerning shotguns. What happened to Colorado? It was classified as a bellwether state in the book Megatrends thirty years ago. This beautiful state has become Californicated. Let’s hope that this “disease” will not spread and that the cure is not too far off in the future.

A popular hunting shotgun could be banned under one of the bills moving through the state Capitol.
A pump or semi-automatic shotgun is the gun most hunters in Colorado use. It’s a gun state Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, says could be banned under a bill that’s already passed the House and Gov. John Hickenlooper says he’ll sign.
“They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Brophy told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd.

Whether the administration is discussing unemployment figures, the “economic recovery”, support for the Muslim Brotherhood or attacking domestic terrorists (that would include me), the epitome of hypocrisy is shown below. 94% of the amount to be cut by sequestration was issued today as new debt: not total spending by the federal dictatorship, but new debt issued. But then again, Michael Bloomberg has declared that our debt can now be infinite:
“We are spending money we don’t have,” Mr. Bloomberg explained. “It’s not like your household. In your household, people are saying, ‘Oh, you can’t spend money you don’t have.’ That is true for your household because nobody is going to lend you an infinite amount of money. When it comes to the United States federal government, people do seem willing to lend us an infinite amount of money. … Our debt is so big and so many people own it that it’s preposterous to think that they would stop selling us more. It’s the old story: If you owe the bank $50,000, you got a problem. If you owe the bank $50 million, they got a problem. And that’s a problem for the lenders. They can’t stop lending us more money.”
How much longer will the hypocrisy be presented to the people without any consequences?

Today is the day when, if one listens to Obama whose idea it was in the first place, an unprecedented $85 billion spending cuts will be sequestered, unleashing famine, pestilence, the apocalypse and grizzly bears (as all park rangers will be dead from starvation). Which is why we applaud the administration’s desire to preempt this tragic for the nation outcome, by issuing, in one day alone: February 28, $80 billion in Treasurys sending debt to (obviously) what is a new all time high $16,687,289,180,215.37.
In other words, the entire apocalyptic impact of the sequester for 2013 was offset by one day’s debt issuance.
Oh, and we didn’t label this post Friday humor because it rightfully falls under the Friday grotesque, surreal tragedy category.
