Social Justice and Its Critics

From YouTube:

For many, the concept of social justice means equalizing wealth or opportunities for people. Many classical liberals and libertarians reject the idea of government-directed social justice. Some reject it because they think it is impractical or even immoral. Others reject it because they believe the idea is conceptually confused. Prof. Matt Zwolinski explains that the primary problem in the social justice concept is that free societies lack a central distributor to ensure wealth, jobs, opportunities, resources, or other goods are distributed “equally” or “fairly.” Libertarians and classical liberals find that the only meaningful concept of social justice is one focused on the legal and economic rules of societies. Many think this focus is incompatible with the political left’s concept of social justice. Stay tuned to the next LearnLiberty video by Prof. Zwolinski to find out why he disagrees.

It’s 8:40 Am, Do You Know Where Your “Sell Gold” Order Is?

It’s that time of day again. For no good reason (aside from arguably a stronger EUR as BIS fills its boots) – and with stocks up – Gold and Silver have once again been Baumgartnered this morning down to three-week lows (and Gold under $1700 again – breaking below its 100DMA for the first time since 8/16).

ON SHARIA FINANCE, BLANKIES AND AXE BODY SPRAY – ANN BARNHARDT

I have seen people erroneously claiming that musloids have financial markets and banking without any interest.

BULL. SHIT.

Musloids are some of the worst criminal usurers on the planet, and I use the term “usurer” in the modern sense meaning loan sharking and the charging of criminally high interest – all the while making the abject bullshit claims that they don’t charge any interest at all.

Musloids and Marxists lie. You have to assume that every word out of the mouth of a musloid or a Marxist is a lie, including “and” and “the”. They are COMMANDED to lie; musloids by the suras and hadiths, Marxists by Marx, Lenin, Hitler and Alinsky. If you haven’t figured this out yet just by watching the satanic farce that is politics today, then you are beyond all help.

Here is a piece I authored back on January 21, 2012 explaining “Sharia finance”.

US, Israel, Turkey, Jordan primed to strike if Assad activates chemical weapons

Preparing Syrian chemical weapons for use

Preparing Syrian chemical weapons for use

US forces in the region, Israel, Turkey and Jordan were all braced  Monday night, Dec. 3 for action against Syria in case Syrian President Bashar Assad ordered his army’s chemical warfare units to go into action against rebel and civilian targets his own country. None of the Middle East capitals are talking openly about this eventuality to avoiding causing panic.
However, oblique references to the peril and preparations for action came from US officials during Monday. White House spokesman Jay Carney said: “We have an increased concern about the possibility of the regime taking the desperate act of using its chemical weapons.”  Such a move “would cross a red line for the United States.”

Without going into specifics, Carney added: “We think it is important to prepare for all scenarios. Contingency planning is the responsible thing to do.”
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Prague was slightly more specific: Syrian action on chemical weapons remains a “red line” for the Obama administration, she said, and “would prompt action from the United States.”

Regarding contingencies, DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the American force in Jordan and Jordanian units, who have been training for two months in tactics against Syrian chemical warfare units, are on a high state of preparedness. So, too, are the three special US command centers set up in Turkey, Jordan and Israel for coordinating such operations.

An American official “with knowledge of the situation” told Wired Magazine that “engineers working for the Assad regime in Syria have begun combining the two chemical precursors needed to weaponize sarin gas.”

The Three Ghosts of Christmas

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

The $40 billion per month printed at the direction of the Federal Reserve to prevent the mortgage industry from collapsing is set to more than double to $85 billion:

The government will reduce net sales by $250 billion from the $1.2 trillion of bills, notes and bonds issued in fiscal 2012 ended Sept. 30, a survey of 18 primary dealers found. At the same time, the Fed, in its efforts to boost growth, will add about $45 billion of Treasuries a month to the $40 billion in mortgage debt it’s purchasing, effectively absorbing about 90 percent of net new dollar-denominated fixed-income assets, according to JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Although we are told that the housing market is recovering, it is not relevant if the mortgages issued to unqualified people are in default. But the Federal Reserve’s official purpose is: Continue reading

When a Pervert Calls the Sociopaths’ Bluff

Hold onto your hat: this is gonna be a wild ride.

We begin with a plunge off the mountainside, a stunner so shocking we’ll question our sanity: John “The Pervert” Pistole, Chief Deviant at the TSA, has finally done something – gulp – right.

Go ahead, try to recover: I’ll wait. Deep breath, relax, and repeat. All set?

OK, let’s try it again. The Pervert, who legalized routine sexual assault on the public at large – an atrocity no regime anywhere, however brutal or totalitarian, has ever previously attempted or even contemplated –, has behaved laudably.

To wit, he stood up to the even more reprehensible lowlifes in Congress.

And poor Perv is taking heat for it, too. The TSA’s army of critics – yay, guys, go! Pulverize this filthy, vile agency! – has excoriated him across the internet. “TSA claims Congress has no jurisdiction over it; refuses to attend hearings,” screams one while another’s headline blares, “TSA Claims It Is Above Congressional Oversight.” As the latter explains, “The TSA has refused to attend a House Transportation hearing … , with agency head John Pistole personally refusing to appear and declaring that the Congressional Committee has ‘no jurisdiction over the TSA’. The hearing … [was] held by the Subcommittee on Aviation, a part of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (TIC). It is titled HOW BEST TO IMPROVE OUR NATION’S AIRPORT PASSENGER SECURITY SYSTEM THROUGH COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS.”

Get the Message Out

Every time that I get a Lincoln $5 bill, I am reminded how our nation stated its downward spiral away from the Constitution. Since my laser can make rubber stamps, I decided to get the message out concerning the beginning of tyranny in the United States.

An excerpt from MR. LINCOLN GOES TO WAR THE REASONS BEHIND LINCOLN’S DECISION TO WAGE WAR ON THE CONFEDERACY h/t Brock Townsend

Before hostilities began, Colonel Baldwin was selected to carry out a private mission, at the direction of the Virginia Secession convention. His instructions were to meet with Abraham Lincoln in April 1861 and negotiate a peaceful settlement. The South was not anxious to go to war and sought to diffuse the schism between the two regions. The deck was stacked heavily in favor of the North – their population was at least three times that of the South; the North had a decided manufacturing advantage; the North a government, army, navy, etc. Colonel Baldwin found out first hand that there was one issue where Lincoln would not compromise – taxes!

Lincoln greeted him as follows: “Well, I suppose this is Colonel Baldwin of Virginia? I have hearn of you a good deal, and am glad to see you. How d’ye, do sir?” Colonel Baldwin presented his note of credential or introduction, which Lincoln read, sitting upon the edge of the bed, and spitting from time to time on the carpet.

Flailing FEMA: Sandy-ravaged communities dealing with cold and lack of housing while FEMA trailers sit idle in PA

AP

Dozens of residents are still living without heat, hot water, or electricity in condemned structures flooded by both sea and sewer water in the Gerritsen Beach community of Brooklyn after a request to FEMA for temporary housing after Hurricane Sandy was denied.

“We need structures and housing. It is truly desperate,” said Jameson Wells, executive assistant to the director of GB Cares Sandy Relief, a volunteer relief organization. FEMA has said they did not have appropriate trailers.

“They told us they were unavailable because they are unheated and not insulated,” Wells said.

However, around 92 FEMA trailers are sitting idle and unused 145 miles away in Pennsylvania, the Free Beacon has found. Two employees from different companies located near the trailers’ location on Route 315 in Plains Township, Pa., confirmed the trailers were there.

One employee of a nearby store who asked not to be identified said some units are bigger than others. All of the units are equipped with heat pumps.

“Maybe someone should call FEMA to tell them about these trailers that can be used for the victims of Sandy,” the employee of the nearby store said. “The people in New York and New Jersey who are suffering, they should definitely give them these trailers. … They are living for a month without heat or electricity. God bless them. I lived without power for four days and it was painful.”

III Congress – T.L. Davis

There seems to be some misunderstanding about the III Congress. It is not to re-draft a perfectly good Constitution. While some might have some reservations about the Constitution as ratified versus as amended, or a Constitution allowing slaves, or any of that, the Constitution was suited only to a moral people of deeply religious constraint. While no one has to believe in Jesus Christ, or God, to understand that a moral person values an oath: values doing right over what feels good: values sacrifice for the better good; values the wages of sin and the value of righteousness, it does help.

Our purpose in engaging in a III% Congress is to decide, for us, what we will finally do. No more talk, no more encouragement, it is designed to see who of us will step out and proudly and boldly claim to believe in the Constitution and to make violations of the Constitution expensive.

Expensive in what way? Who knows, that is up to us to determine. But, if one believes in this nation, it is their duty to do something to stem and maybe even abate the abuses done to the very document that established everything one sees from the first blink in the morning to the last in the evening.

US ultimatum averted Iranian-Pakistani warships’ drill in Port Sudan

Pakistani warship off Port Sudan

Pakistani warship off Port Sudan

Iranian and Pakistani warships had planned their first ever rendezvous to take place in Port Sudan Friday, Nov. 30. It was rumored in Khartoum that the Pakistani Shashmir had docked Thursday carrying nuclear arms or nuclear-related equipment ready to meet two Iranian warships for joint naval drills on the Red Sea.
The United States put a stop to this plan at the last moment by threatening to call off the direct talks with Tehran that were scheduled to open Saturday, Dec. 1.

The naval exercise would have seen Iran collaborating for the first time in military activity with a nuclear power that would take place, moreover, close to the shores of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel. Parading the two Muslim powers in military partnership – one a nuclear power and Iran on the threshold of attaining nuclear arms – was an attempt by Tehran to leverage its position as a regional power when facing Washington at the negotiating table.

Responding to persistent reports of nuclear arms aboard the Pakistani vessel, the Port Sudan Director Sheiba Mohamed Babikir issued the following statement on Dec. 1: “There is no risk to the lives of citizens who want to visit the ships as all weapons will be secured.”

According to DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources, Riyadh and Jerusalem warned the Obama administration separately last week that unless the Iranian-Pakistani maneuver was called off, action would be taken to prevent it, prompting Washington’s stiff message to Tehran that their nuclear talks were on the line unless it was cancelled.

Manufacturing ISM Plummets To Lowest Print Since July 2009

So much for the 3rd Recovery (or is that 4th?) in the current depression: following the Chicago PMI which posted a solid beat on horrendous internals, today’s Manufacturing ISM came in just as expected, at least by those skeptical of all the sugar high economic data the US population was spoon fed in the past few weeks. At 49.5, the headline PMI print was the lowest since July 2009, the biggest miss to expectations of 51.4 in 5 months, and down from 51.7. Also, as most know, as sub-50 print indicates a contraction in the manufacturing space, usually a precursor to overall recession. Particular data points of note: Employment down from 52.1 to 48.4; New Orders slide from 54.2 to 50.3, and in the worst news for GDP Exports declined, Imports rose and Inventories plunged – which was to be expected after a huge inventory build up in Q3 pushed GDP much higher in the period. Expect even more downward GDP recessions on today’s ugly data. Finally, while the bulls would love to blame the collapse on Sandy, it was not mentioned anywhere in the release and the ISM’s Holcome said just one respondent even mentioned Sandy in the release, which means the manufacturing reality will only get worse as the full impact of Sandy is internalized.
