Future Silver Supply More At Risk Than Gold

In order for the future global silver production to grow, it must predominantly take place in the base metal mining industry.  When the world oil supplies start their inevitable decline in the next several years it will also force global GDP to fall as well.  As the global GDP declines, so will the supply of base metals such as copper, lead and zinc. Thus, future silver supply is at more risk than gold because 70% of its production comes from the mining of base metals.

In contrast, 80% of the world’s gold production comes from primary mines.  When the world finally succumbs to the gravity of the hundreds of trillions of dollars in derivatives reverting back to their original value of zero, gold will become the center of banking and trade.  Because the majority of gold comes from primary mines, it makes perfect sense for the world to focus its energy sources on the very metal that will be in the forefront of global banking industry.

That being said, this is not at all negative for silver.   Silver is still the second best monetary metal to gold.   In addition, as future base metal production declines (along with it silver production), this would force the price of silver to increase in response to its enhanced rarity.

I would also imagine this will motivate the mining industry to enlarge its number of primary silver producers as well as increase its overall percentage of primary silver production.  We must remember, the most efficient way to use less energy to extract silver is the mining of underground reserves with high ore grades.  That is why it makes perfect sense that these underground high ore grade mines will take a premium in the future — basically, they utilize a higher EROI in their production.

Democratic senators have offered an amendment to the cybersecurity bill that would limit the purchase of high capacity gun magazines for some consumers.

Shortly after the Cybersecurity Act gained Senate approval to proceed to filing proposed amendments and a vote next week, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), a sponsor of the gun control amendment, came to the floor to defend the idea of implementing some “reasonable” gun control measures.

The amendment was sponsored by Democratic Sens. Frank Lautenberg (N.J.), Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Jack Reed (R.I.), Bob Menendez (N.J.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Schumer and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.). S.A. 2575 would make it illegal to transfer or possess large capacity feeding devices such as gun magazines, belts, feed stripes and drums of more than 10 rounds of ammunition with the exception of .22 caliber rim fire ammunition.

The amendment is identical to a separate bill sponsored by Lautenberg. Feinstein was the sponsor of the assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004.

Saudi silence on intelligence chief Bandar’s fate denotes panic

Mystery over missing Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan

Disquiet in Washington, Jerusalem and a row of Middle East capitals is gaining ground the longer the Saudi government stays silent on the reports of the assassination of the newly-appointed Saudi intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan, purportedly in a revenge operation by a Syrian intelligence death squad. If true, it would shoot a devastating tentacle out from the Syrian conflict to the broader region.

It is widely feared that Saudi rulers are too traumatized to respond by the fear of Iranian penetration of the highest and most closely guarded circles of Saudi government, possibly climaxing in Bandar’s assassination.
The unconfirmed reports of his death attribute its motive to revenge by Iran and Syria for the bomb explosion five days earlier in Damascus which killed four of Bashar Assad’s top managers of his war on the uprising against his regime.
The prince, son of the late crown prince Sultan, has not been seen in public since Saudi General Intelligence headquarters in Riyadh was hit by a bomb blast Monday, July 23 killing his deputy, Mashaal al-Qarni.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly 550 of Friday, July 26, was the first world publication to report this attack, in the face of a massive official blackout, from its exclusive intelligence sources.
Now as then, DEBKAfile’s sources have obtained no confirmation that Prince Bandar was injured or killed in that attack. King Abdullah made him Director of Saudi Intelligence on July 19, just a day after the Damascus bombing. But our sources doubt whether a Syrian intelligence squad would be capable of reaching deep inside Riyadh. They therefore postulate that the deed was committed or orchestrated by a clandestine Iranian agency.
It wouldn’t be the first time.

In 2003 and 2004, Iran initiated a wave of bombing attacks inside the Saudi kingdom carried out by Al Qaeda, supplying its terror squads with intelligence, explosives and money. Al Qaeda experts ran those operations. One of them, Saif al-Adal, was later freed by Iran and is now based in Pakistan.
Iran’s terror masters may have gone back to their tested stratagem of hiring Al Qaeda terrorists for an insider job against the Saudi regime.

Corn is now trading at new forever-and-ever all-time highs. This is significant. There is a massive seasonal pressure in the corn market that exerts itself at the Fourth of July when the trade feels that any adverse weather is already priced in to the market. We’re almost a month past that psychological “seasonal top” and have just broken out to new all-time highs – surpassing 2008. That means that the crop is even worse than the gloomiest-and-doomiest estimates from the first week of July supposed, and that we’re not “priced in”.GULP.

Corn could go parabolic, much like the wheat market of 2008 (Minneapolis Wheat penetrated $20.00 per bushel), and if corn goes, beans will go ape.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason why people like Corzine, Abelow, Duffy, Gensler, Wasendorf, Lauren Brinati, the entire staff of the NFA and so many more are TRAITORS to their nation, and should be tried and have justice done upon them as such. Farmers, grain elevators, ranchers and meat animal producers should be able to use Chicago right now to establish price floors and ceilings and manage their risk. But they can’t without entering into contracts and instruments that they know are rigged and that may well end up stealing all of their equity. It’s like being told that if you want to go to the emergency room to treat your injuries from a car wreck you certainly can, but your doctor will be Charles Manson and your nurse will be Jeffrey Dahmer.

So, it’s either go home and bleed to death or be raped and then eaten by psychopaths.

At the urging of Valerie Jarrett, president Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission, according to an explosive new book scheduled for release August 21. The Daily Caller has seen a portion of the chapter in which the stunning revelation appears.

In ”Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him,“ Richard Miniter writes that Obama canceled the “kill” mission in January 2011, again in February, and a third time in March. Obama’s close adviser Valerie Jarrett persuaded him to hold off each time, according to the book.

Miniter, a two-time New York Times best-selling author, cites an unnamed source with Joint Special Operations Command who had direct knowledge of the operation and its planning.

Obama administration officials also said after the raid that the president had delayed giving the order to kill the arch-terrorist the day before the operation was carried out, in what turned out to be his fourth moment of indecision. At the time, the White House blamed the delay on unfavorable weather conditions near bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

But when Miniter obtained that day’s weather reports from the U.S. Air Force Combat Meteorological Center, he said, they showed ideal conditions for the SEALs to carry out their orders.

Corn prices hit record as crops shrivel

Corn prices surged to a new record high Monday, as the worst drought in more than 50 years continues to plague more than half the country.

Almost 90% of the United States’ corn crops are in drought ravaged areas, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and nearly 40% are situated in the hardest hit spots.

Corn prices have soared more than 50% during the past six weeks as the crops continue to shrivel in relentless dry heat throughout the Midwest. They jumped another 3% Monday to a record high of $8.17 per bushel on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Ebola Reappears – Coincidence or Not?

Ebola has made a reappearance – There has not been a confirmed outbreak of the rare and deadly hemorrhagic fever since September 11th, 2007, when an outbreak occurred in Kosai Occidental province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where at least 100 people died of the disease in Congo, with additional deaths in Uganda and surrounding areas.  Prior to the 2007 outbreak, we had not seen a confirmed outbreak of Ebola since the Gulu, Uganda outbreak of 2000 which was the largest documented outbreak of the disease since its discovery in the early 1970s – Here’s what is being reported thus far:

KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — Six more patients suspected to have Ebola have been admitted to the hospital days after investigators confirmed an outbreak of the highly infectious disease in a remote corner of western Uganda, a health official said on Monday.

Stephen Byaruhanga, health secretary of the affected Kibaale district, said possible cases of Ebola, at first concentrated in a single village, are now being reported in more villages.

‘‘It’s no longer just one village. There are many villages affected,’’ Byaruhanga said.

Obama Says His Daughters’  ‘Choices’ May Depend on Funding Planned Parenthood

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama told campaign contributors that he favored taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood in part so his two daughters could “control their own health care choices.”

Speaking at a gathering at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Ore., the president criticized his Republican opponent Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, for wanting to eliminate federal subsidies to the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“Mr. Romney wants to get rid of funding for Planned Parenthood. I think that is a bad idea,” Obama said. “I’ve got two daughters. I want them to control their own health care choices. We’re not going backwards, we’re going forwards.”

Obama’s two daughters, Malia and Sasha are ages 14 and 11, respectively.

Natural gas prices surge 70%

Hot days, increased use by utilities and falling production push natural gas prices up 70% over the last three months.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Natural gas prices have surged over 70% during the past three months, fueled by increased air conditioning use, a switch from coal in power plants, and declining production rates.

The price for natural gas at Henry Hub, a junction of pipelines and storage facilities in Louisiana, has gone from $1.85 per million British thermal units in April to $3.14 Tuesday — a seven-month high.

“Hot weather forecasts and elevated cooling demands continue to provide a boost to the market,” Addison Armstrong, director of market research at the brokerage Tradition Energy, wrote in research note Tuesday.

Natural gas-fired power plants can be turned on and off relatively quickly, and as such are generally used by utilities to generate electricity during times of peak demand, like during a heat wave.

This June was the 14th hottest June on record, with temperatures nationwide two degrees above the twentieth century average, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Wall Street Insider: What’s that phrase…all the stars are aligning?  The European crisis…Italy now hangs by a mere thread.  We are doing all we can to prevent its collapse…but there are those…they are pushing in the opposite direction.  Collapse Europe, then initiate the municipal bond crisis throughout the United States.  It could very well be accomplished within days – a few weeks at most.  The fiscal contagion would spread very quickly.  And there and then we would see Gerard’s army step into the void, spreading further chaos, fear, uncertainty so people would be crying for government to give some semblance of normalcy.  What are but a few personal liberties given up for the good of the many? Greece was a trial balloon.  So too will be France.  But Italy…Italy is the key.
