Arizona Leads the Way – Nullification and the Practice of States Rights

As Joel Poindexter wrote in the Tenth Amendment Center story Arizona Moves to Regain Sovereignty, “The proposed amendment, HCR:2004, is intended to reassert Arizona’s sovereignty as a state, and regain control over much of the state’s lands and resources. According to Section C. of the proposal: “The State of Arizona declares its sovereign and exclusive authority and jurisdiction over the air, water, public lands, minerals, wildlife and other natural resources within its boundaries….” The authors made exceptions for existing military posts, Indian reservations, and federal property, pursuant to the US constitution’s Article I, Section 8, Clause 17.”

The effects of a growing number of State Acts of Nullification against NDAA, Immigration, and other Federal laws and regulations is creating a rising tide of Stated Rights, exercised through Nullification.  This is an essential element of what will happen in the years to come, as we must not count on the Federal Courts to remove unconstitutional laws.  Nullification by state legislatures, and by county sherriffs will be essential components in turning the tide of Federal over-reach.

As such, it is imperative that all patriots pay close attention to candidates for their state legislatures, and for county sheriffs as well.  This is a pivotal point in the American Republic – the ability of state and local juresdictions to nullify and resist, with legitimate authority, the over-reach of a federal mandate or action.  This is, essentially, our pressure-relief valve, designed by the founders to protect against extreme abuses of the federal power, which would otherwise result in revolution, and the disolving of our Republic.

Beggars and Liars

Obama - Biden
Friend —

I try to follow and absorb what our opponents say about President Obama — I really do. It’s important to understand when the other side might have a valid point.

But lately, I’m just sick of it.

If you are too, donate $3 now to help push back.

According to them, our guy is a “celebrity president” who spends too much time talking to voters on the TV shows they may actually watch.

But at the same time, he’s accused of working around the clock trying to destroy freedom, and being too mean to millionaires and billionaires by saying they ought to pay their fair share of taxes.

Now, with the one-year anniversary of one of the toughest decisions of his presidency approaching — well, the Republican complaint is that President Obama and the news media are just spending too much time talking about it.

If you’re tired of the noise, you can help keep this campaign focused on one thing: building the organization to win in November.

Donate $3 or more now:

Here’s hoping our opposition doesn’t get any more coherent.

Thanks,

Ann Marie

I-55 Bridge in Memphis Closed due to Crash This Morning – What Actually Happened?

A key bridge over the Mississippi River in Memphis, TN, was closed for several hours this morning, due to a “crash”.  Details are scarce, which leads me to wonder what really happened… perhaps there is a correlation with other events?  I guess we will have to wait and see…

Iran Responds to US Deployment of F-22 Raptor Fighter-jets

The Air Force has quietly sent F-22 Raptors to the Middle East, and the move has caught the attention of Iranian officials.  Over the weekend, media outlets cited a report in Aviation Week that Raptors are now based at Al Dafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. An Air Force spokesman told ABC News that the deployment was routine and not meant to threaten Iran.  Aviation Week based its report on unamed industry sources, and there was no indication where the Raptors had come from. Besides Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Raptors are based in Alaska and New Mexico.

The deployment of U.S. F-22 stealth fighters to a base in the U.A.E. is “a harmful move” that undermines the region’s security, the state-run Fars news agency reported, citing Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.  “We consider such presence in the region useless and harmful and creating an insecure atmosphere in the region,” the agency reported Vahidi as saying.

The U.S. has deployed F-22 Raptor aircraft to the Al Dhafra air base, Aviation Week reported on April 26. The U.S. air force said the aircraft had been sent to Southwest Asia to promote regional security, the publication cited a spokesman as saying.  The U.A.E. base is south of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of globally traded oil passes, and Abu Musa island, which is claimed by Iran and the U.A.E.

A visit to the island by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad this month was provocative and violated U.A.E. sovereignty, the Gulf Cooperation Council said in a statement on April 17.

We seem to have a growing list of indicators that war is coming, as I have previously suggested – Continue reading

Interactive Map Of Europe’s Recessionary Tide

Courtesy of Zerohedge and Reuters:

As noted earlier, and in the aftermath of both the UK and Spain officially double dipping, very soon a majority of Europe will be submerged under the latest recessionary tide which has already engulfed Spain, UK, Greece, Italy,  Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark,  Holland, Czech Republic, and  Slovenia. The primary wildcard remains Germany, although there is a more than 50% chance that following some very weak PMI data, the country will follow up its already negative Q4 GDP print with another decline, officially pushing the European growth dynamo into recession as well (as for France which reps and warrants that everything is great, it is not as if anyone actually believes those numbers, especially after Hollande becomes president in one week). For everyone who wants to track the European double dip tsunami in real time, the following interactive chart from Reuters is just for you.

Click on the map to view the interactive version. Recession (red) is defined by two consecutive quarters of negative GDP change. Most of the blue already has one quarter in the red at this time.

Chicago PMI Collapses and Dallas Fed Plunges

The Chicago Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 56.2 this morning. The lowest forecast had been 58. As businesses start to contract, the BLS unemployment figures will increase in May once the government’s “seasonal adjustments” are removed from their calculations. Look for Romney to capitalize on the economy for his campaign. The Democrat party used the same strategy in the Summer of 2008 and we must not forget the ramifications on the stock market and TARP.

Update:

Dallas Fed Plunges Negative. Biggest Miss In 10 Months

While the Dallas Fed Manufacturing Index tends to be a little less of a headline-maker  than many of its macro-data peers, today’s dismal report is worth paying attention to. The index turned negative for the first time this year, dropped to its lowest level in 7 months and missed expectations by the largest amount in 10 months. The drop from +10.8 to -3.4 is also the largest sequential drop in 11 months. Only the inventories sub-index rose (hardly a bright spot) as Production, Number of Employees, New Orders, and Capacity Utilization all plunged and theaverage workweek fell for the first time in months. The US decoupling myth continues to come apart at the seams and the likelihood of more easing (extreme or not) seems to be rising by the day – because that has worked so well in the past.

Chicago Purchasing Managers Index Decreased in April

Business activity in the U.S. expanded in April at the slowest pace since November 2009, a sign that manufacturing may be cooling as business investment eases.

What Should We Expect from a Tea Party Congressman?

The Tea Party’s efforts in 2010 allowed the Republican Party to regain control of the US House of Representatives. Did we vote for a candidate who understood our founding principles or did we vote against the Democrat usurpation of the government? What did the “Tea Party” candidates promise if elected and how did they fulfill their campaign commitments? If you are now represented by a candidate whom you feel is a one of these candidates, this is a question that you should be asking yourself. If we do not learn from our mistakes (and history), we are doomed to repeat them. North Carolina’s Tea Party only successful candidate in 2010 was Renee Ellmers. I would rate her performance (or lack thereof) as an F.

What we should expect from a Tea Party Congressman: Continue reading

Wind farms can cause climate change, finds new study

Wind farms can cause climate change, according to new research, that shows for the first time the new technology is already pushing up temperatures.

Usually at night the air closer to the ground becomes colder when the sun goes down and the earth cools.

Greece Opens Illegal Alien Detention Camp

Greece opens detention camp for immigrants as election looms

ATHENS (Reuters) – Greece opened its first purpose-built detention centre for illegal migrants on Sunday in Athens, a week before a national election where illegal immigration has emerged as a key issue.

About 130,000 immigrants cross the country’s porous sea and land borders every year, the vast majority via Turkey, and the authorities are forced to release those who are arrested because of a lack of permanent housing.

With Greece in its fifth year of recession and worries over rising crime levels, illegal immigration has become a major issue in the run up of the May 6 election.

The once-obscure far-right Golden Dawn, which wants to deport all immigrants, is among the parties that has benefitted most from the mood among voters, and is expected to win its first seats in parliament.

Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Overview

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul2hpEOngyo

From YouTube:

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their ‘civilization jihad’ — a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.

Thom Tillis’ top aide resigns amid allegations

THOM TILLIS 16376039.JPGRALEIGH, N.C. —

The Chief of Staff to House Speaker Thom Tillis has resigned over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a female lobbyist.

That lobbyist, Jessica Hayes, also stepped down Friday, NBC-17 has learned.

Charles Thomas headed up the Tillis staff until last night. He called his boss and offered his resignation after it was alleged the married father and former State Representative was having a romantic relationship with an also married, powerful lobbyist. Her job was to gain political access.

State ethics laws, as well as lobbying rules, are murky when it comes to relationships. The Ethics Commission will have to investigate the alleged incident further.

“In this case, it could just be the appearance of impropriety that is the problem,” said political science professor David McLennan.

Necrophilia is Not a Joke – Ann Barnhardt

The following post by Ann Barnhardt is posted on American Thinker so I can link directly to it.  As usual it is a provocative piece of writing and puts what we face in its proper perspective.

David DeGerolamo

Last September I began delivering an hour-long presentation titled “Islamic Sexuality: A Survey of Evil” to local Tea Party, 9/12 and other patriot groups in Colorado.  The good folks at FreedomTalkNetcast.com, after seeing this presentation in Pueblo, CO sprang into action and professionally videotaped and edited my next delivery of this lecture in Colorado Springs.  It was promptly uploaded to my YouTube channel, “AnnBarnhardt“, in four parts and those four parts can be viewed at the following links:

Part 1  (General overview of Islam)
Part 2  (Misogyny in Islam)
Part 3  (Female Genital Mutilation and Pedophilia)
Part 4  (Pedophilia, Prostitution, Bestiality, Necrophilia)

Within Part 4 I discuss the specific ratification and encouragement within Islamic culture of necrophilia, which is sexual intercourse with a dead body.  I cite a fatwa issued in May of 2011 by a famous and respected Imam in Morocco which states the following:

“Since a good Muslim couple will meet again in Heaven, and since death does not alter the marital contract, it is not a hindrance to the husband’s desire to have sexual intercourse with the corpse of his (freshly) deceased wife.”  -Imam Abdelbari Zemzami
