The 150th anniversary of the start of the ‘War Between The States’ invites reflection on the causes.  The “More Perfect Union” was broken from the start.

This reflection is important as we engage in battles against our national government … our struggle in Arizona to enforce Laws that Washington refuses; our struggle to nullify a national healthcare system that demands our participation; these are contemporary examples of the same issues that led to war in 1861.

Are you feeling good about our “great WIN” on the budget battle last Friday?

One can barely grasp the enormous stupidity of the budget deal. It is a signal that there is no chance of a bold, desperately-needed reconciliation with sanity. There is no chance that even discretionary spending can be limited, much less the drastic measures required to save the nation from bankruptcy and world-wide ridicule. If this is the fruit of the Tea Party, it is a wicked weed indeed.

John Boehner is not qualified to polish the spittoons in the basement of the Capitol Building, much less participate in a negotiation between Harry Reid, Barack Obama and the Republican congress. The praise being heaped upon him by the press signals that he is the one they want to negotiate the 2012 budget. He negotiated positive press and a fig leaf from the president in return for capitulation.

AN ACT ADOPTING THE TOWN OF GRIFTON’S SHAD FESTIVAL AS THE OFFICIAL SHAD FESTIVAL OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the Grifton Shad Festival, held annually since 1970, is the oldest festival in Pitt County and one of the longest running festivals in eastern North Carolina; and

Whereas, the Grifton Shad Festival provides visitors with many family-oriented activities, such as a parade, arts and crafts, and historical exhibits; and

Whereas, each year, citizens in the area demonstrate their community pride by volunteering to make the festival a success; Now, therefore,

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1. Chapter 145 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:

Ҥ 145-33. State shad festival.

The Grifton Shad Festival is adopted as the official Shad Festival of the State of North Carolina.”

SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 7th day of April, 2011.

Dear Rhonda –

You lament “the often-absent leadership of President Obama” and speak of your expectation that “Congress must stop enabling our addiction to spending and debt“.

Obama has exhibited leadership, just not the kind of leadership we want.  The majority of congress critters, czars and appointees are working his plan:

Obama is not just a Leftist, like Samantha Power. Obama is an orthodox Marxist. He is on the other side of the looking glass, thinking his thoughts in Marxist terms, reaching back through the looking glass and playing our “false consciousness” like a fiddle.

He imagines a world reduced to the bedrock of class struggle, where the cloud of bourgeois ideology lifts, and history is unstuck and moving again according to the laws of scientific socialism.

He could care less how anyone judges him on the “false consciousness” side of the looking glass.

Barack Obama is perhaps the best trained and most dedicated Marxist since Lenin. And he is in power.

Don’t fall into the trap of believing “they just don’t get it”.  There is a clear Presence of Malice in everything this president does.

Last year we suffered the imposition of national-socialist healthcare by a government populated by “D’s”.

Now it appears that we will suffer attempts to “reform” national-socialist healthcare, and make it more palatable, by a legislature populated by “R’s”.

We are now at a point in the “Fundamental Transformation of America” where people who have worked hard to restore the Republic are concluding there is no viable option but emigration.

Every one has to figure out for themselves what degree of liberty they will sacrifice for security.

People have accused me of giving up, of turning my back on my nation. My nation is not a place, it is a set of conditions under which my forefathers agreed to live and to raise children. It is a covenant between the people and those they allow to sit in the seats of power. Break the covenant and you have broken the nation.
