NRA – Vote Tillis

This is why I endorse GRNC instead of the NRA. Endorsing Tillis over Brannon? You should have just endorsed Kay Hagan. Read the comments on YouTube for this video.

Iran Unveils New Anti-Ship Cruise Missile

Iranian naval exercises / AP

Iran announced that it has armed its warships with a new generation of cruise missiles and warned the West that its response to “any threat” will be “more deadly and heavier,” according to regional media reports.

A top Iranian naval commander revealed on Monday that Iran has armed its coastal defenses and warships with a new, domestically produced cruise missile primarily used to destroy enemy ships.

These new “Ghadir cruise missiles” have been loaded onto “both destroyers and missile-launching warships of the Navy, and they are also used as coast-to-sea missiles,” Iranian Navy Commander Rear Adm. Habibollah Sayyari was quoted as telling the state-run Press TV.

The new weapons were unveiled just a day before a top Iranian Army Commander “downplayed the U.S. and its allies,” warning them that “in case of any threat, our response will be more deadly and heavier,” according to Iran’s Fars News Agency.

Chuck Norris: 3 Myths About Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson

We patriots love to quote the Founding Fathers, especially when they support our theses. And Jefferson remains at the top of the heap. But there are three beliefs or practices often attributed to Jefferson that are either myths or cherry-picked partial views.

The first myth is that Jefferson was for big government. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Though Jefferson expanded U.S. territory through enactments such as the 1803 Louisiana Purchase, he knew that when it comes to expanding government, “the natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground.”

The Miller Center at our third president’s own University of Virginia put it well:

Pensions ‘Timebomb’ – 85% of Pension Funds Will Go Bust

The “pensions timebomb” keeps on ticking and as societies we become less prepared by the day.

Yet another report shows that the public pension system is in dire straits. This one comes from renowned investment manager Bridgewater Associates.

The study estimates that public pension funds will earn an annual return of 4% or less in the coming years due to near zero percent interest rates and financial repression. That, in turn, would cause bankruptcy for 85% of the pension funds within 30 years, the study warns.

Public pension plans now have only $3 trillion in assets to invest so that they can pay out $10 trillion of retirement benefits in coming decades, according to Bridgewater. The funds would need an annual investment return of about 9% to meet those obligations, the report says.

Many pension plans assume they will earn 7% to 8% annual returns, an assumption which is far too high. But even in the best case scenario of the pension plans achieving those returns, they will face a 20% shortfall, Bridgewater notes.

Bridewater looked at a range of different market conditions, and in 80% of the scenarios, the pension funds become insolvent within 50 years.

Operation Outreach

christian mercenary

by T.L. Davis

Harry Reid says that “it’s not over” at the Bundy Ranch. Truer words were never spoken, thanks for the heads-up Harry. We know how these Marxists ghouls operate: it is never about the issues up front; it is about sheer, raw force and right now little Harry feels a bit impotent and chagrined at having been caught pulling a fast one. Harry isn’t used to having his dirty little deals exposed for the world to see. I suppose he got a few phone calls over the Bundy Ranch affair and feels the need to make a point, which is always the same. You heard it from J. Paul Vance in Connecticut: “I am the master.” What then does that make of us…slaves?

Yes, that is exactly who we are and the government has thousands of overseers with whips and rifles to make sure we never forget it. They ride herd with all the power and all the advantages a wealthy nation can provide. To them, we are but livestock being herded through life to serve them and provide for them…and to kneel before them.

Baghdad buttresses defenses ready for wholesale Al Qaeda assault on city

Drying banks of the Euphrates dammed by al Qaeda

The Iraqi army began buttressing its defense lines on April 12 to save parts of the capital city of Baghdad from the approaching danger of falling to al Qaeda’s Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). Iraqi intelligence reports that terrorist forces have broken through into the city’s western outskirts and preparing to head out to other parts of the city of more than seven million and the Green Zone government headquarters.

In addition to the lethal bombings and shootings which have reduced the country to misery, DEBKAfile’s counter-terrorism sources describe a more insidious ISIS tactic of conquest: Armed al Qaeda fighters in brown military fatigues are going around Baghdad city quarters distributing candy to children. Notes attached to the packets invite their parents to attend “repentance” rites, which are really oaths of adherence to al Qaeda.

Six years ago, the contest between US troops and al Qaeda’s savage Iraqi commander, the Jordanian Mussab Al Zarqawi, ended in his death at American hands and saved Baghdad. Two years ago, President Barack Obama ordered US forces to shake the dust of Iraq off their boots.

Now the Americans are back – only now they are not US soldiers but jihadi fighters of al Qaeda, fighting to overrun Iraq and establish an Islamist state there. They are pushing towards Baghdad after seizing the western province of Anbar, the city of Tikrit and the eastern province of Diyala on the border of Iran.

Mark Levin’s “liberty” amendments: legalizing tyranny

For 100 years, the federal government has usurped powers not delegated to it in our Constitution.

What should we do about it? Should we reclaim our existing Constitution and put an end to the usurpations?

Or should we “modernize” the Constitution by delegating to the federal government the powers it has usurped – so as to legalize what is now unconstitutional?

Mark Levin begins “The Liberty Amendments” by saying he doesn’t believe the Constitution requires “modernization through amendments.” But he then proposes a series of amendments, six of which modernize our Constitution to delegate to the federal government most of the powers it has usurped during the last 100 years.

And each of his six amendments does the opposite of what its title promises. I’ll show you.

Could Putin Crash our Economy? What Should We Do About It?

Counter Terrorist July 2013

by KEVIN D. FREEMAN

Two of the biggest news stories of the year are 1) the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and 2) the debate over High-Frequency Trading following the publication of Michael Lewis’ new book Flash Boys. While the two stories seemingly cover very different topics, from the view of global economic warfare, the two are highly related.

As we have shared at numerous points, Russia’s invasion of Crimea has been accompanied by dramatic threats of cyber-economic warfare from both sides. From the American side, we have introduced a series of sanctions and promised escalation as needed. The Russian threats have been even more dramatic. They have indicated a willingness to destroy our financial system and even bring down the dollar as reserve currency. Presumably, this would include  a serious market crash. Interestingly, Voice of Russia used the words “secret weapon” (perhaps borrowing from the title of our first book) to describe the economic attack they threatened to unleash against our economy.

Gold Futures Halted Again On Latest Furious Slamdown

It seems the two words “fiduciary duty” are strangely missing from the dictionary of the new normal’s asset management community. This morning, shortly before 8:27am ET, someone decide that it was the perfect time to dump thousands of Gold futures contracts worth over half a billion dollars notional. This smashed Gold futures down over $12 instantaneously, breaking below the 200DMA and triggered the futures exchange to halt trading in the precious metal for 10-seconds. Palladium also got clobbered and was also halted. This is gold’s worst since Bernanke ‘tapered’ in December.

This Chart Shows Us How Bad The Economy Really Is: “Flashing Red Warning”

fuse-lit

by Mac Slavo

Forget about all the minute-by-minute noise for a moment and take a look at the following chart. It gives a very simple overview of earnings growth trends for stocks listed on the S&P 500 on a quarterly basis.

Last year saw what analysts would call fairly robust growth, and they had no problem citing these numbers for evidence of economic recovery.

We’re curious what they’d call it now, considering this chart shows a massive collapse in earnings per share growth across the board.

Pay close attention to that yellow line, which indicates growth (or lack there of) for the first quarter of 2014. According to Zero Hedge this is a Flashing Red Warning as earnings growth plunges to its lowest levels since 2012:

While the so-called “experts” were adamant in repeating that one must ignore all Q1 economic data (because of harsh weather you know), one thing the same “experts” pounded the table on was the earnings growth in 2014 which confirmed that the Fed was correct in tapering and that the corporate sector was well on its way to achieving “escape velocity” and a stable recovery. And then this happened…

Snowden reporters win Pulitzer

The Pulitzer Prize for public service was awarded Monday to The Washington Post and The Guardian, which broke the story of National Security Agency surveillance programs leaked by Edward Snowden.

In giving U.S. journalism’s top prize to the Guardian and the Post, the Pulitzer committee delivered support for Snowden and Glenn Greenwald, the former Guardian journalist most associated with the story, while offering a rebuke of the government.

The Pulitzer board called out the Post for its “authoritative and insightful reports that helped the public understand how the disclosures fit into the larger framework of national security,” and the Guardian for “helping through aggressive reporting to spark a debate about the relationship between the government and the public over issues of security and privacy.”

Good Morning to New York’s 1 Million New Illegal Gun Owners

I Will Not Comply New York

Governor Cuomo awoke this morning to a massive problem, one million plus new felons, all armed with scary, high capacity, assault weapons!

An estimated million plus, formerly law abiding, gun owners have refused to comply with Cuomo and down state Democrat’s naive belief that the NY Safe Act, passed in a so called emergency session of the New York legislature, could force free people to register their hard earned property.

The New York Safe act, passed without public comment in the dead of the night, was a direct attack on law abiding, tax paying, owners of legal guns.  Now, New York Democrats have no idea on how the state will resolve this problem as they have neither the resources or in many case the backing of law enforcement to round up this massive group of dissenters.
