Treasury: Debt Has Been Exactly $16,699,396,000,000.00 for 56 Days

According to the Daily Treasury Statement for July 12, which the U.S. Treasury released this afternoon, the federal debt that is currently subject to a legal limit of $16,699,421,095,673.60 has stood at exactly $16,699,396,000,000.00 for 56 straight days.

That means that for 56 straight days the federal debt has remained approximately $25 million below the legal limit.

Even though the portion of the federal debt that is subject to a legal limit has not changed in almost two months, the Treasury has continued to sell bills, notes and bonds at a value that exceeds the value of the bills, notes and bonds it has been redeeming.

The “public debt subject to limit”–as the Treasury calls the portion of the federal debt that is legally limited by Congress–first hit $16,699,396,000,000.00 at the close of business on May 17.

Experts: Russia's new launcher may violate treaty

The State Department’s annual report on arms control compliance failed to identify a major Russian treaty violation, the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee said Monday.

“Both the unclassified and classified arms control compliance reports the administration recently submitted—almost three months late—have failed to address the concerns I raised with [House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence] Chairman [Mike] Rogers in our letters to the president,” Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (R., Calif.) said in a statement.

The chairman did not identify the treaty violation, but other U.S. officials said it involved a major breach of the 1987 Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty.

The Air Force National Space and Missile Intelligence Center reported recently within classified channels that Russia conducted a test launch of a new intermediate-range missile disguised as an intercontinental ballistic missile.

This is off the I 10 and 57 interchange in southern CA.  It’s only a few miles from where we used to live.  This is how the LA riots started.  The protesters would jam up the freeways and then throw bottles at cars from the bridge below.  You were sitting ducks.  Look at the bridge where the protesters are standing.  This is close to the Pomona area.

Contaminated Water has been Leaking into Ocean for Two Years at Fukushima

Shunichi Tanaka, the head of the Nuclear Regulation Authority in Japan, and the country’s chief nuclear regulator announced on Wednesday, that the nuclear power plant at Fukushima, has been leaking contaminated water into the ocean for the two years since the accident that saw three of the plants six reactors suffer a meltdown.

The problem stems from the fact that ground water is leaking into the basement of the damaged reactors, and becoming contaminated, and whilst that water is being pumped out and stored in huge tanks on site, the inflow has not yet been stopped, meaning that ever more ground water enters the basement and becomes contaminated.

Tanaka explains that neither his staff, nor those working for the plant’s operator have discovered where the leaks are coming from, and therefore have not been able to stop them.

Israeli Strike on Syria Launched from Turkey

Anyone reading the report on this level of cooperation between the Turkish and Israel has to be thinking about their cooperation against Iran.

Israel used a Turkish military base to launch one of its recent airstrikes against Syria from the sea, a reliable source told the Russian news agency RT. Last week it was reported that on July 5 Israeli planes attacked a stash of Russian made Syrian rockets in the harbor city of Latakia, Syria.

News that Turkey assisted Israel in attacking a Muslim state could result in serious repercussions for the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan government, if the information is verified.

Thoughts on the Police Raid on Adam Kokesh – and On His Canceled “Armed March” on D.C.

My differences with Kokesh are both deep and public, but the FEDGOV is treading upon very dangerous ground here, by giving a guy who already clearly has a John Brown complex a chance to spark the civil war. Flash bangs? Battering rams? Armored vehicles? Held without bond? For a VIDEO? Really?

As much as I distrust Kokesh’s ego, judgment and his motives, he still is covered under the policy of No More Free Wacos. As Bob Wright has said for many years, when this thing breaks, it will likely come from an unexpected quarter, in reaction to some stupid move by the regime against someone unsympathetic and even unsavory. But we will have no choice other than 4GW against the warmakers who sent the deadly raid party at that point. Which may have been the purpose of this exercise. Maybe it is what they want now. Or perhaps they’re just as blundering and arrogant as General Gage. It won’t make a damn bit of difference when it happens — to us or to them.

Republicans Blame Obama Funding Cuts for 3rd Failure of U.S. Missile Defense Test

As the array of foreign missiles capable of reaching the United States grows, four Republican lawmakers are pressing Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel for assurances after a third consecutive failed test of “the only national missile defense system in place to protect the American people.”

In a letter responding to the unsuccessful test of the ground-based midcourse defense system (GMD), the four said the system “appears to have been put on ‘life support’ under the Obama Administration’s budget requests.”

The last successful GMD test took place in December 2008, when an interceptor missile launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. intercepted and destroyed a long-range ballistic missile target launched in Alaska minutes earlier.

Since then there have been three failed tests of the system, the most recent on July 5, when an interceptor missile launched from Vandenberg AFB failed to intercept a target launched from a test site in the Marshall Islands.

Researchers hack Verizon device, turn it into mobile spy station

Two security experts said they have figured out how to spy on Verizon Wireless mobile phone customers by hacking into devices the U.S. carrier sells to boost wireless signals indoors.

The finding, which the experts demonstrated to Reuters and will further detail at two hacking conferences this summer, comes at a time of intense global debate about electronic privacy, after top-secret U.S. surveillance programs were leaked by a former National Security Agency contractor, Edward Snowden, last month.

“This is not about how the NSA would attack ordinary people. This is about how ordinary people would attack ordinary people,” said Tom Ritter, a senior consultant with the security firm iSEC Partners.

The Justice Department said Sunday it is looking into the shooting death of Trayvon Martin to determine whether federal prosecutors will file criminal civil rights charges now that George Zimmerman has been acquitted in the state case.

The department opened an investigation into Martin’s death last year but stepped aside to allow the state prosecution to proceed.

In a statement, the Justice Department said the criminal section of its civil rights division, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Middle District of Florida are continuing to evaluate the evidence generated during the federal probe, in addition to the evidence and testimony from the state trial.

“Experienced federal prosecutors will determine whether the evidence reveals a prosecutable violation of any of the limited federal criminal civil rights statutes within our jurisdiction,” the statement said. Justice added that it will determine “whether federal prosecution is appropriate in accordance with the department’s policy governing successive federal prosecution following a state trial.”

NC Republican Party Plays Politics with Our Second Amendment Rights

gun.fwAs the 2013 North Carolina legislative session draws to a close, Republican senators and representatives are in the process of thumbing their collective noses at those of us who worked so hard to elect them last November.

House Bill 937, which amends various firearms laws to allow concealed carry in restaurants, in assemblies for which admission is charged, on campuses, at parades and funerals, and much more, faces one final obstacle:  Intra-party Republican bickering between the NC House, Senate and Governor’s Mansion.

This is unacceptable.

Rule of Law or Rule of Man?

America has reached a crossroads: are we a nation of laws or not? Obama has assumed dictatorial powers by unilaterally declaring health care legislation will be postponed by one year. Without any legal backing by the legislative branch. George Zimmerman was acquitted based on the facts presented at the trial. But now the looters want their pound of flesh regardless of the law.

A republic is based on the rule of law. Once this is lost, we devolve into tyranny. What are the consequences of a usurpation of our laws and Constitution by the federal government?

We are about to find out.

Nearly 400K sign NAACP petition calling for DOJ investigation into Trayvon Martin shooting

More than 380,000 people have signed a petition created after a jury found George Zimmerman not-guilty in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin Saturday, calling for the U.S. Department of Justice to launch a civil rights investigation.

“A jury has acquitted George Zimmerman, but we are not done demanding justice for Trayvon Martin. Sign our petition to the Department of Justice today,” a note accompanying the petition on Moveon.org read.

In barely 12 hours, the petition has garnered 250,000 signatures on the NAACP site, and the  petition by MoveOn.org drew 140,000.

With every new Executive Order, the options that we, the people, have to seek redress for the crimes committed by the United States government are becoming more limited. Have you sent a fax or e-mail to your elected representative lately about an issue of constitutional importance? How did that work out? Have you organized or attended a “rally” lately? Tell me, what has changed by your sincere efforts? Oh, and was the rally limited to a “First Amendment zone,” (or “Free Speech zone”) or a specified location where you were “allowed” to exercise your First Amendment rights granted by the U.S. Constitution? Did you even know such zones existed and if so, are they alright with you?

America has been conquered in a faceless coup, where the meteoric rise of a virtually unknown man of Arab, not African descent (if we are to believe his own tale of his origins) was selected to complete the job of destroying our national sovereignty and eradicating what remains of our civil rights. Meanwhile, the U.S. Congress has been made irrelevant by this unclothed emperor wearing only the headdress of a pharaoh, while the judiciary has been infiltrated and corrupted to the point of being useless as a method of resolution of our grievances.

Israeli Subs Destroy Russian Missiles In Syria; Russia Holds Largest Post-Soviet Military Drill

While the (chemical) dust over Syria has yet to settle, one country is not waiting around before in tried and true fashion it kicks the proverbial hornets nest. Only this time the recipient of Israeli aggression is not some small country that can hardly afford to defend itself against made in the US, state-of-the-art weapons: it is Russia, if only indirectly. Last Friday, July 5, in the fog of the Egyptian coup, a contingent of 50 Russian-made Yakhont P-800 anti-ship missiles at the Syrian port-city of Latakia was destroyed. It has since become clear that the attack was launched by none other than an Israeli Dolphin-class (German-made) submarine according to a report in the British Sunday Times, which in turn contradicts a previous report that the attack had been the work of the Israeli air force.

Furthermore, the alleged Israeli naval strike was closely coordinated with the United States. While this open aggression on Russian interests in Syria for now remains unchallenged, one wonder what happens when the news hits that US-made weapons supporting Syrian “rebels” have been mysteriously blown up by Russian rockets and how furious the public outcry would be against such an open Russian provocation.

According to the report, the Israeli fleet of German-built submarines launched a cruise missile at the weapons cache after which Syrian rebels reportedly attested to hearing early-morning explosions at a Syrian port-side naval barracks.
