Highlights of Glenn Beck’s NRA Speech

Saturday night, Glenn stood before a sold out house inside the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX and delivered a powerful keynote speech to energize the supporters of the Second Amendment.

Glenn called for the conversation on guns to move past the one being put forth by politicians and the media. The American people need to see the move to regulate guns for what it is: a part of a larger ongoing effort to take control out of the hands of individuals and place it in the hands of the government.

Why is the effort to restrict guns so dangerous? Because there is no liberty without the ability of the individual to chart their own course and take responsibility for their own life. This is the only way man and mankind progress.

At the end of the day, the gun rights debate boils down not to more guns or less guns, but responsibility and freedom versus control.

The TCCC (Tactical Casualty Combat Care) course should be considered mandatory training for every prepper group. I was not expecting the simulated training exercise with AR-15s and blanks (nor Dr. Dan being the point man who was shot and rescued). This course focuses on what I considered essential training for our future. Unfortunately, there will be no helicopters at a landing zone to take our wounded to a hospital.

Saturday:

Good speakers, discussions, food and door prizes. It took forty minutes to hand out the door prizes. We may have to implement a rule to charge Yankees more per ticket next time. I am making videos as quickly as possible and should have all videos up by Wednesday. Although we started at 10:00 AM, we ended the final discussion at 7:30 PM. Three observations:

1. The hard core patriots stayed after the raffle and food was over.

2. The people who attended the last discussion understand our true situation.

3. The people who attended the last discussion understand how God is working in our lives.

German Finance Minister Who Launched Euro, Calls For Euro’s Breakup

Back in December we pointed out the patently obvious: in the absence of an external rebalancing mechanism, i.e., a free-floating currency, the only option for the bulk of the periphery to regain competitiveness was through ongoing wage collapse and persistent localized depression. Five months later, just as predicted, Europe is in a worse shape than ever before, not only in those non-core countries where wage deflation is accelerating, but the weakness has fully spilled over to the core. Of course, none of this is rocket science, and has been quite obvious to anyone who thought for more than 15 seconds about the “future” of the Eurozone. What is surprising, however, is that with every passing day even the most staunchest supporters of the euro, in this case Oskar Lafontaine, German finance minister in 1998-1999, under whose supervision the euro was launched, are becoming the most vocal Euro-skeptics an unsound, political (capital) currency can no longer buy. Here is the Telegraph’s Ambrose Evans-Prithard dissecting the conversion of the latest europhile turned euroskeptic.

Oskar Lafontaine, the German finance minister who launched the euro, has called for a break-up of the single currency to let southern Europe recover, warning that the current course is “leading to disaster”.

“The economic situation is worsening from month to month, and unemployment has reached a level that puts democratic structures ever more in doubt,” he said.

The Germans have not yet realised that southern Europe, including France, will be forced by their current misery to fight back against German hegemony sooner or later,” he said, blaming much of the crisis on Germany’s wage squeeze to gain export share.

Obama names Turkey’s Erdoğan among top five international friends

US President Barack Obama has listed Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan among the five world leaders who he has the closest personal ties with.

In an interview with Time’s Fareed Zakaria, Obama named his international top friends, who are Erdoğan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and British Prime Minister David Cameron, the Washington-based Foreign Policy magazine reported on Thursday. “

Syria: Israeli attack equals declaration of war. Iron Domes at Haifa and Safed

Iron Dome missile interceptor on the GolanSyria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said Sunday, May 5, that the strike at Syria overnight represented a “declaration of war” by Israel. Russian and Iranian media earlier predicted full-scale Middle East hostilities involving Israel erupting in the coming hours, in the wake of Israel’s renewed strikes against Iranian missiles bound for Hizballah and other targets around Damascus. Russian sources reported rumors that President Bashar Assad was on the point of declaring war on Israel.

Russia Today claimed that an Israeli rocket strike Sunday caused heavy Syrian casualties – according to rumors, at least 300 members of the Syrian Army’s 501st Unit dead and hundreds filling four Damascus hospitals. DEBKAfile: If this is confirmed, then the unit which operates the chemical weapon facility at the Barzeh district north of Damascus at the foot of Mt. Qassioun was hit. Israel’s security cabinet holds emergency session.

The same Russian source reported that Syrian security forces cordoned off the sites of the explosions against entry. Residents reported after the blasts that the ground moved with the force of a 4 magnitude earthquake.

Shortly after the Israel attacks in the Damascus area Sunday, the IDF posted additional Iron Dome anti-missile batteries in Haifa and Safed to defend those northern towns against incoming Syrian and Hizballah rockets.

GRNC Alert 5-5-13: Mecklenburg Co Nearing Closure on Park Carry Restrictions

Mecklenburg Co Mulls Park Ban

After deadlocking on proposed parks ordinance changes last month, Mecklenburg county commissioners tabled the issue and instructed the county attorney and the parks director (who has publicly shown he is against carry by law-abiding citizens) to bring alternative recommendations to a future meeting.

GRNC has received confirmation that the alternatives prepared by the county attorney and parks director will be presented at the May 7, 2013 board of county commissioners meeting. Presumably, the commissioners will vote again and attempt to lockdown a parks ordinance that unfortunately includes all restrictions allowed under GS 14-415.23. Therefore, it is time to act again!!

Your prior emails and calls have been a huge help in educating and influencing the commissioners. There is no question your past actions helped to persuade an open minded Democrat commissioner, Chairman Cotham, to support a compromise position, which puts a tight rein on the restrictions. With Chairman Cotham and three supportive GOP commissioners on board, we need one more vote to secure the least onerous restrictions possible.

Our Mecklenburg County friends need your help, and Mecklenburg County residents need to act now! Please email the county commissioners with the following message in an effort to convince five of the board members to vote against the proposed ordinance changes or for the least onerous restrictions possible.

Division by Fundamentalism

This writer has pointed out previously that part of the problem we have in America is an inability to think critically. Unfortunately, the training to think critically has long since been removed from public education in this country. But if we are to survive as a free people, we need a great awakening.

Such an awakening will not be possible without critical thinking.

Another fine example of the failure to think critically is the rabid patriotism and pro-Israel sentiment within the fundamentalist Christian community. The idea that Israel can do no wrong and that America must sacrifice its own national interests on the altar of sacrifice for any other nation is ridiculous on its face. And yet that is the position of most fundamentalist Christians when it comes to Israel.

Now, before launching attacks on this writer, consider that I was once such a one, a fundamentalist. I actually flew the Israeli flag on my flagpole. Then I began to think critically and discovered how I and my friends were/are being used.

Understand this, as well, I am not an anti-Semite and I consider myself a Patriot. I just don’t agree with the deceptions being fomented against We the People by the powers that be. They love using division to make us hate and fight each other so that we don’t have the time to recognize our true enemy, them.

For example, even though the Founding Fathers warned us against the danger of a two-party system to divide the nation – left-right partisan divisions have successfully been deployed to distract and weaken the American people for centuries.

Unraveling the Benghazi cover-up

If history tells us anything, it tells us that it’s not just about the crime, it’s also about the cover-up. It’s about seeking the truth but being stonewalled at every turn, and being treated as subjects undeserving of the truth rather than citizens asking reasonable questions but being denied answers.

The same level of inquiries that unraveled the complexities of the Watergate cover-up are required to unravel the ball of lies that surrounds the September 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including a sitting U.S. Ambassador. Within this ball of lies, however, exists not only the covert agenda of an administration, but the fate of the world. Unraveling this ball of lies will reveal official government actions that have been and continue to be performed in our name but without our consent. It will reveal a government agenda that has have spun wildly out of control, leaving no one accountable as we stand at a very critical moment in world history. It’s about a cover-up of monumental proportions that is reminiscent of, but hardly in league with, the cover-up of a generation ago.

Today, the stakes are much higher, as we stand at the precipice of a global conflict because of deeds being done in our name under a levelof unprecedented and unchecked deception. Ultimately, it’s about getting the truth, which has been kept from each of us through lies of commission and omission, clever semantics, and outright refusals to provide answers to important questions. We were force-fed a preplanned lie from day one, much like the thinly veiled cover story of the Watergate burglary, but with much greater consequences.

Benghazi Boils Over

Damaging new revelations continue to undermine the Obama administration as Congress prepares to resume hearings examining the response to the September 11, 2012, attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that left four Americans dead including the U.S. ambassador.

There are new details that administration officials misled the public in its initial public assessments of the attack, withheld relevant information that may have been politically damaging, waged “subtle intimidation” campaigns against multiple government employees who sought to testify about the attack, and neglected evidence in its own internal investigation of the attack and its aftermath.

The new revelations, made ahead of next week’s House Oversight Committee hearing, have propelled the Benghazi issue back into the news cycle and reopened a politically uncomfortable wound for the White House and possible 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Israel confirms Syria strike, says hit Hezbollah-bound missiles

Israel has carried out an air strike into Syria, targeting a shipment of missiles bound for Hezbollah guerrillas in neighboring Lebanon, an Israeli official said on Saturday.

The Jewish state has made clear it is prepared to resort to force to prevent advanced Syrian weapons, including President Bashar al-Assad’s reputed chemical arsenal, reaching his Hezbollah allies or Islamist rebels taking part in a more than two-year-old uprising against his government.

The target of Friday’s raid was not a Syrian chemical weaponsfacility, a regional security source earlier told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

A U.S. official, who also declined to be identified, had told Reuters on Friday the target was apparently a building.

The attack took place after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet approved it in a secret meeting on Thursday night, the security source said.
